bought this for my 14 inch band saw. It was well packaged, easily assembled, the saw sits on it fine and it's very stable. I couldn't ask for much more.
I'm 73 years old and put together this mobile base without help. Finally, I can move my tablesaw around the shop with ease. Tomorrow I'm ordering two more for the jointer and bandsaw. I took particular joy in taking my old ShopFox mobile base to the dump where it belongs.
This is a most have for smaller shops like mine at least, Rolls nicely across the floor, out for use and back to the wall when not being used.
I bought two of these mobile bases. One for my cabinet saw and one for my planer. Great product, makes moving these tools easy, freeing up space in my small shop. I highly recommend the bases.
Makes moving table saw around garage a breeze. Only reason not giving 5 stars:the stationary rollers should be lower on the frame (in order to raise that end) to allow a slightly larger lifting difference so the table extension legs would have more clearance when in the 'move' position. While with the stops in the stationary position, the table is much lower toward the stationary rollers. (I have the stops adjusted as low as they can go without resting on casters.) In order to level table I have to roll one end up on some shims. Still a good base and I would buy it again
I received this order quickly. One of the corners was not formed properly from the factory and I had to grind off the top 1/4" for it to assemble properly. It was not worth the time or effort to exchange it.
Easy to add to my table saw that was already set up. Worked great. Glad I added this feature.
I had an older mobile base for a large table saw that was coming to the end of its life. The original wheels wore out and I was not able to find quality wheels. I decided to give the Bear Crawl Heavy Duty base a try. I'm glad I did. As my other mobile base wheels wear out, I will replace the whole thing with a new Bear Crawl unit. This thing rolls extremely well even on brushed concrete. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a good mobile base.
I am really happy with this base. Moves effortlessly and stays put when the 'legs' are down. I would happily order another.
This is amazing, thought most of it would be made out of plastic for the price, boy was I wrong, amazing, can't really buy a good set of casters for that price.
Bought this a month ago. Am pleased with the ability to move my table saw. Good product but took some time to assemble and get square. While the table saw fits to it perfectly it does contribute to some modest viberation so once I decide for certain where the saw will be placed I will likely eliminate the need for this mobile base.
Purchased for my GO513X2 band saw. Couldn't ask for this to be any better.
Excellent product - just what I needed and much easier that building it myself!
This is a great product and is built heavier than many others!
Great base for my bandsaw. Easy to assemble and strong. Was beat up in shipping, packsging could be improved. Video about it https://youtu.be/RlBpTIdK_x8
I purchased the "Bear Crawl" in May, the went together very easy and fit the band saw and table saw very nicely, having a small shop I need to move things around when I need to use them, the Bear Crawl work as i need it to, moving these pieces around very easily and with a few simple adjustments makes a very solid platform from witch to work. Have purchased other item from Grizzly and have been very satisfied with their products.
Holds up my 20" - 900 lb Planer. Can roll it around like a shopping cart. Had to modify one of the retractable feet though. Sloppy weld.
I use this for resawing for thin filler pieces for my bandsaw boxes, I'm aware of being able to flip the fence to the narrow edge but I wish the fence that came with the saw could be slid onto the fence clamping mechanism as well. The high resale fence keeps me from lowering the guide system down to the 4" height needed. It's not a huge problem at all but it would have been nice if grizzly could have designed both fences to work together with the clamp mechanism. Great fence, great heavy duty mobile base and a totally awesome 12" high x 17" throat, 2hp bandsaw.
Very happy with all three and a great price for a great system.
Heavy duty base, easy to assemble and use. Great design, fits my delta bandsaw just perfectly. Great quality and even better price. Love it.
My shop is starting to get crowded and this was perfect for allowing me to relocate my table saw as necessary! Easy to assemble too.
Well made and great value. If you cut the rails it will also go smaller than the shown 19". I made it 15" x 24" to fit my jointer. Rolls easily on my very rough concrete floor. My only gripe is they put it on sale a week after I bought it.
Base seems very sturdy and well designed. Was fairly easy to put together as well. Only reason for not giving it five stars is for the fact that it was made in China instead of here in the U.S.A. I'm sure I'm not the only one who would be willing to pay a little more for this product and others if they are made in America by American workers.
My Grizzly table saw has been the center of attention in my shop for years. Too difficult to move... until now.
The Bear Crawl base is an awesome product, but there are some manufacturing issues that need some attention.
1) Welds are at best amateur.
Many were incomplete.
2) Parts are not welded together square.
One swivel wheel mount is angled differently than the other.
One stationary wheel mount is welded greater than 90 degrees.
Aside from the poor welding the base is well designed and works perfectly. I like the fact it as toe flips for the rubber feet. Much easier than screwing it up or down whenever you want to move or use the machine.
After using the Bear Crawl for a number of months I find one particular design change is needed. Engaging the support feet causes the entire saw to be at an angle. It would be better if the supports were stationary and the wheels able to be lowered using the toe flips, thus leaving the saw in a level working position.
I bought this a month ago And wish I wouldve bought it years ago. Well worth the money!!!
I purchased this item along with my table saw. It was defiantly worth the money. Which wasnt a lot in my opinion. I am now able to easily move my heavy table saw around the shop with ease.
Perfect for the 317 pound 10" Jointer/Planer G0635. By myself, I was able to assemble the base and mount the machine in about 30 minutes. My garage floor has rather wide joints, but the "Bear Crawl" navigates over them with ease. I think I actually prefer the "Bear Crawl" mobile base over the Shop Fox.
It is a very heavy duty and easy to maneuver base and at a great price compared to others I have seen.
Great Base, but it didn't fit the machine they said it would. This is the accessory mobile base for 17" Anniversary Bandsaw. But when I got it the arms for the width were too long and I had to cut them for my 18" wide base on the bandsaw. I would have expected a proper fit.
Recently bought this for use with my 180 lb tablesaw. Works great so far and looks as if it will for a long time.
Excellent product. Heartily recommend this if you get a Grizzly. One caveat: Use a 21"x 21" x 3/4" spacer in the unit to allow vibrations to be soaked up and not transmitted to the floor. Really works like a champ.
I bought this for a drill press and it works perfectly. It was easy to assemble and makes it easy to move a heavy machine. It was also the best price of any comparable base and had the heaviest rating.
Overall I'm extremely pleased with this mobile base. The only thing that I would suggest improving is the lifter mechanism needs a tighter tolerance or a welded in bushing. There is some movement in the support posts when locked down due too to much play.
This is the BEST mobile base that you have ever sold, and it was on sale.
It is one rugged piece of equipment!! The wheels have a brake system that is easy to reach and it easy to apply or release.
Recently purchased two. One for my Grizzly bandsaw which needed a mobile base and another for an older Craftsman drill press (large floor model) that had a Delta base. The Grizzly bases are fantastic because of their construction quality which results in stable yet easy to move machines. I cut down the sides slightly for the bandsaw and built a wooden base for the drill press. When you couple the design and quality with a great price, no doubt about 5 stars.
I bought this to use under my G1035 shaper. This base it a little big for the 1035 but I liked the wheels and the wheel locks better than the lighter bases. I cut the base down after getting it and it works great. It was a very simple job to make the base smaller.
Good product and is priced right. I have a slight issue with one wheel dragging that was easily fixed. I have this thing loaded and it rolls easier than my table saw.
To be fair, most are made like this. Too clunky, in my small shop I need all 4 wheels to swivel. I already took my new Grizzly bandsaw off of this thing and replaced with heavy duty casters. This mobile base will be on eBay for sale by the end of the week.
I am very impressed with the quality and sturdiness of this product. It has made moving the equipment in my shop much easier. I bought 3, one for my table saw, jointer and bandsaw
Works great. Packaging sucked and some parts were bent damaged but still useable.
After assembling my Grizzly G0555LX 14" Deluxe Bandsaw on this base I was very happy to see how smooth the entire unit moved around and how stable everything was. This will greatly help my woodworking in a small shop where I can store my bandsaw when not in use and easily pull it out when needed.
I bought this for my Grizzly G0771Z table saw that i'am saving up for. Currently using it for my old craftsman contractor saw and it's great. By the time i have the money saved the grizzly G0771Z should be back in stock.
I purchased the Bear Crawl Mobile Base ahead of the arrival of a Grizzly G0690 table saw. It was my understanding that the base could be assembled around the tool. Without having an "assistant" to help, I used a tall jack to lift the table of the saw alternately front and back and the base slid under the saw fairly effortlessly. I'm very pleased with the sturdiness and the ease with which the base allows me to roll my saw around the shop. Could not be more pleased.
I have a small shop and recently purchased a band saw. Bought the mobile base to allow quick and easy relocation and it works great.
It is stable when locked in place to use the saw and is easy to move.
After a few months of pondering as to which table saw i was going to get, with many factors being looked at during the process, I chose the Grizzly G1023 RL Even though it was going to be stationary, I needed to be able to move it into it's position and have a stable base, so I ordered the Bear Crawl base at the same time. I am very pleased with that decision. I assembled it, using the dimensions of the saw and then took the back and front section apart to wait for the saw's arrival. It is very strong and stable, and because my shop floor is slightly uneven, I was able to adjust the support feet to zero the saw up. I highly recommend this in addition to any heavy piece of shop equipment.
Great base! My table saw has a granite top and a router table attached and it moves beautifully. Excellent buy.
My wife bought this for me as a birthday/anniversary gift. Excellent stand! Some folks have said issues with the bolts or threads, but I found none. It works perfectly with my G0690 saw and makes rolling it around a breeze and locking it into place even better (then getting on your knees and turning a knob!) I like it so much that I want to buy another for my standing drill press! Excellent base Grizzly! God bless!
I have three different brands of mobile bases and this one is by far the best of them all.
I have purchased two of the Bear Crawl bases. One is for a 350 pound bandsaw and the other is for a planer stand. The base is easy to assemble. And can be assembled around a machine (I did this rather than try to lift the bandsaw onto the base.) The bases are easy to move around my less than level shop floor and they are very sturdy and stable. Finally they are are extremely well priced. I will certainly buy more of them when needed.
This is a heavy duty mobile base. It's very stable and rolls very easily. The assembly is straight forward and easy. I use this for my Grizzly G0457 bandsaw.
Solid, very sturdy, fits the bill for my Hybrid Table Saw which weighs over 400 lbs. will be getting a second one for my Bandsaw. Definitely recommend.
Makes it very easy to move heavy saw around and stable when it place with the locks down. Its made it China and some of jamb nuts broke loose when tightening.
Makes my table saw very easy to move around and locks easy
This mobile base is very heavy duty, but it is easy to assemble
and to adjust the stabilizing feet. The casters and power coating
are also of high quality.
This is by far the best heavy mobile base I have seen.
It is well designed in that you don't have to lift the machine to set the brake.
I have on on my heavy commercial shaper with power feeder, and one on my 20" planer.
Both are easy to roll around.
Lets me easily move my band saw around which is very important with my small shop. It is rock steady when locked into place.
This mobile base is built for heavy duty equipment and it works as claimed. My T28000 is supporting my DJ20 jointer and I am very well pleased. The strongest base I have ever used!
I bought this for my table saw .... worked great and very easy to put together
My order was shipped and delivered promptly and the mobile base is excellent and just as advertised.
I bought this mobile base about a month ago and wish I would have purchased it a long time ago. It is so handy and well built. Very solid. I would definitely recommend!
I have had some other mobile bases in the past but this one is the best. It's very heavy duty. Some people have mentioned bad welds but I have no complaints. It went together with no problems and all the welds held together. It's a little wide for my G0555 but it could be modified to fit. Overall, I love it.
When assembling the product, I could not get one of the spring loaded feet to fit into its hole (the sheet metal cap jammed against the side). The hole itself was not perpendicular (looks like bad welding job). The foot would not fit until I ground off one edge (at least 1/8 inch) of the sheet metal cap on the foot. It went together but I assume the bottom of the rubber foot is now not sitting parallel to the floor. Any individual without a power grinder would not have gotten it together; the cylindrical moving part would not fit into the holder assembly.
This mobile base was definitely a plus for my bandsaw. It was everything as advertised. Im extremely pleased with all my purchases from Grizzly.
The Bear Crawl work better than I ever expected. Works great for tight shop and moving equipment around as needed.
All as expected. Delivery on schedule. Instructions clear and unit seems to be well made.
Makes moving the larger machines around in small shop much easier.
love it. only bad thing is had to remove bolts that hold corners, they don't allow the band saws door to open, had to replace with set screws. otherwise very strong unit
I haven't set the base up yet; been waiting for a friend to help me lift the bandsaw up onto it. But I know it will be great like the other Grizzly products I own. ,
Just got my Bear Crawl this past weekend and assembled it. I was quite pleased with the construction of it. No breaking welds like others have reported. Casters seem to be really heavy duty and roll around very well. Haven't used it on the saw yet as it is supposed to be here this week. I would buy another one for sure.
I'm very happy with this product. Assembly was easy and it was handy to be able to build around the tool without lifting the tool completely of the ground and placing in the base.
Is a really nice base with two exceptions. As others have said, be careful tightening the bars because the nuts are lightly tack welded, one broke with very little force. Grizzly did send me a replacement pronto....excellent customer service. Other issue is the side with the swivel wheels is 1/2" higher than the fixed wheel side. I put a tall 15" wide belt sander on it, lean was bad. I had to put 1/2" spacers between the machine and base on the fixed wheel side to level it with the feet up and it sitting on the rollers. It is one of the nicest mobile bases other than that. I would buy another. Recently bought another one of these. Looks like my complaints with my first one have been fixed. The nuts are welded on much better and the base was level from side to side.
Solid quality product. Assembly instructions not entirely clear as some hex head bolts were replaced with capped bolts. Placed on Fox mobile base, but had to modify some of the bolts of the base to provide clearance to open lower door.
Bought this for a Craftsman table saw with legs being 24x29 inches apart. Works great. The spot welded nuts could be higher quality, one stripped out on me.Rolls well.
works good! I had to cut it down on all sides to fit my purpose but it is that adaptable.. Would definitely purchase another if needed!!
I bought this product in 12-17. The unit was easy to put together and I didn't experience some of the issues that others have had with poor welds on nuts and nuts full of paint. I only had one problem with one nut that ended up stripping.
Holds a lot of weight, and easy to move large tools around the shop. I can slide my cabinet saw and 17" bandsaw around the garage with one hand. The feet that drop down to lock the tool in place however are very floppy. Too much play in the mechanism. The tool won't slide around the floor but it will rock back and forth a half inch or so while using it. Doesn't sound like much but it would be better if it didn't.
the box came in damaged and pieces missing but customer service was very helpful in replacing the parts. Once together it performed better than expected.
Grizzly produces a great product and a good company.
buying experience was fast and easy ,base looks well made, i had to cut two sides a few inches shorter for best fit, it took a little work to get it under my 325 lb. band saw. time will tell how good it really is. my experience with grizzly has always been great. good products at a fair price and great customer service
I put this under my Jointer and really like the way it handles the floor mats I have in the shop. It rolls off the 3/4 in. mats to the concert floor and back easily. (well as easily as any 600lb machine will move.) Ill be getting another one to go under my Shop Fox shaper.
Works, but the feet come down independently and do not have much travel. Also the weight of the machine is always on the rear casters so for heavy machines it's not too stable. The ground clearance of the feet when retracted can be an issue if your floor is not totally clean and level.
So much easier on my back when I need to move a heavy piece of my equipment around. I bought 3 and will buy more as I add to my equipment setup
This mobile base makes working in my two car garage so much easier. Foot-operated levers are the way to go. I can't really think of a way to even improve this item.
Strong frame and easy to move the saw with this base. Smooth rolling and locks in place
Stand really rolls quite easy. One of the nuts broke loose from its weld. Should stay together with remaining. Hope others don't fsisl
I bought this to use on the G0833P. The mobile base is easy to put together and rolls smoothly on the floor. The downside is that I cannot seem to get the saw top level by using the adjustment feet. It appears I will have to use shims between the saw and the base to fix this. Overall it's a good value, however I would have gladly paid more for more adjustability, so that you could level the equipment.
Nice heavy duty, rolls smoothly. Little bit of a challenge to put together by yourself but manageable. A must for small shops!
Sturdy and easy to put together. Good quality finish and it makes the saw so mobile - but this does not make it unsteady in use. Just drop down the lift wheels and it is rock steady. I use it more than my table saw now.
I have routinely used homemade bases for my shop tools u ntill I purchased a G1023FLIGHT table saw from Grizzly. This saw weighs 510lbs the base makes moving the saw a breeze
Welding needs improvement. Some joints, nuts, and fittings need grinding to remove sloppy welds in order to function and fit properly. Overall it works well.
Purchased for 6x89 belt sander ,it moves easy ,and stays where you want it to when you push levers down. Can't go wrong with this product! Excellent mobile base.
Great quality and easy to fallow instructions. Now my band saw is easy to move from one place to another and that is what I needed.
I bought this mobile base about a month ago it is the best 1 that I have ever owned I have several the T28000 Bear Crawl is the Best!!!!
Packaged well but shipping UPS with the weight outer box beat up but inner box intact. The return roller axle pin had fallen inside roller and had to disassemble top, remove roller and fish out the pin. Not the sturdiest planer on the market but seems to work fine.
Very sturdy base and easy to put together whether your saw is already together or not!
Easy to adjust and works with a lot of different machines!! v
Works well, rolls easily. Easy to assemble. The reason I only gave it 3 stars is that the black powder coating got inside the nuts that the bolts for the fixed wheels go into. I thought the bolts would still thread into the nuts and the powder coat would just come off. Well it didn't, it actually stripped the bolt. I had to buy a tap and tap out the nuts to remove the powder coat.
price dropped $20,00 before I received them. How about a rebate of $20. ??
We bought this for our son and he loves it. Fits the saw just right and makes it very moveable.
i bought the shop fox base for my 14" band saw and i find it difficult to maneuver the machine around the casters do not want to cooperate . so when i bought my g1023 table saw i decided to try grizzly's bear crawl and it a lot easier to move the table saw around my basement than the other base i have. i only wish non caster wheels were a little higher so i could level the machine using the posts instead of shimming the cabinet base.
Makes it very easy for me to move so I can sweep up my shop and park the vehicles in.
Not until you get your Chinese Manufacture to make it without rust of internal eight of the major parts and to pack it in a real shipping carton so the outside of the painted parts are not dented, paint removed, etc. during shipping!!!!
Any questions call me at 607-723-3512 ext. 458
Must take care not to over-torque the bolts (16 of them) that adjust the size of the base. Each nut is fastened to the frame with two spot welds that can break loose (two nuts in my case) if the bolts are torqued up to what you might think is an appropriate level.
great base for planer makes it very easy to move around
Bought this item and I am so glad I did, it is worth its weight in gold.
I purchased two of these several weeks ago for the 1023 tablesaw and 55lx bandsaw. After a very simple cut on two of the heavy duty runners, they fit snug and perfect on both bases. Super easy and stable mobility with pop down rubber feet controlled by stepping on them (no bending down). Highly recommended.
This product was great for the price. I needed to cut two of the metal bars to shorten the side length. It took me about 30 minutes to assemble everything. Now my jointer rolls around with ease.
I don't know how I have managed my tablesaw in the garage for all these years without one. This thing is amazing.
Ordered for Contractor style table saw, works great, could easily handle larger tasks.
I replaced an expensive mobile base I purchased with this grizzly mobile base. Wow what a difference, it is so much better built than base I purchased from the Woodcraft store. My prior base was harder to put together and although it was supposed to be rated for the weight of my machine the wheels were bending and flexing out of shape and made moving my machine difficult. Not so with this one. This one was well worth the money.
Seemed like the mobile base was going to work nicely, but had a crookedly-welded corner piece that held one caster off the ground. Asked for a replacement part, but that couldn't be provided. Was supposed to get replacement package, but was given a refund instead.
Best mobile base I have bought. Heavy duty and rolls smoothly. Hope to get another while they are still on sale.
I bought this a little over a month ago to go with the 14" anniversary edition band saw. Like one other person stated one of the cons to this piece are the nuts welded to the corner brackets. As I was tightening one of the bolts for the rail one of the weld points broke. Be very careful or you are going to pulling out your welder. I did have to run the two adjustable feet all the up in order for it roll around without dragging in the up position. The biggest pro that I can point out is how easily, and quickly, the assembly is. You can, if even marginally mechanically inclined, put this together without the instructions. Even with the locking rail nut issue I am extremely happy with this base unit.
Great product easy to assemble. I modified the lengths of two of the spacer bars for a perfect fit with the 14" Grizzly bandsaw and am very pleased. I have a number of mobile bases from other suppliers and this one is the best!
I bought this to put under my Powermatic edge sander. Here are my observations regarding its assembly and use:
1) The edge sander I used this under is now VERY easy to move. Much more so than when I had a home made, wood base (with good casters), which raised the unit up several inches.
2) The base design raises the tool only enough to allow the wheels to roll freely, so it doesnt raise the center of gravity a great deal.
3) The locking mechanism is very easy to engage and disengage.
4) The base was easy to assemble and could be figured out without directions. The hardest thing to figure out would be the locking mechanism.
1) BE VERY CAREFUL tightening the sixteen (16) short bolts that hold the square tubing in the four corner pieces. They are spot welded and it takes very little pressure to break them loose.
Fortunately, it doesnt take much pressure to lock the tubes to the corner pieces. Too, the tubes fit into larger tubes and most the abuse they would suffer is downward pressure, rather than lateral or horizontal.
1) I bought a cheap EVOLUTION carbide tooth metal cut off saw a while back. It made quick work of shortening square tubing that slide into the corners, to get a fairly tight fit around the base.
2) The non-swiveling wheels are mounted so they roll parallel to the base to which they attach. Because of that,
attention must be given to which corners sections longer or shorter tubes are mounted in.
One way, my edge sander must be rolled with wide section to the right and left and could not be rolled through the four foot wide shop door. If set on the base the other way, it will fit and should be more stable during moves.
3) I had to run the two locking mechanisms all the way in to get them to raise the unit as little as possible. You only need to raise the wheels about 1/8, or less, to to stop the base from moving around.
4) This is one of four commercial mobile bases in my shop [out of 16 total]. One of the two Grizzly bases is built into my 8" spiral jointer and its great too. This one seems comparable to the others for ease of use and mobility. It has the advantage over the others in that it can be cut down for a tight fit. I, definitely, would buy it again.
I have had multiple mobile bases--- None have worked like the Bear Crawl. These work GREAT! five star! I can move my 600# milling machine and stand with minimal effort.
I have limited shop space and have to keep my Delta table saw rolled out of the way. This base seems to handle the weigh effortlessly. The saw is too heavy to for just me to pick up. So I had to assemble it in place.. It was a bit of a hassle to assemble under the saw while I had it up on blacks. But, not bad. I'm more than happy!
