We took our G1023RL Table Saw with riving knife & made it even better by including a built-in router table that doubles as a table extension wing. The router table includes support legs & universal T-track router clamping system, and the Shop Fox® Classic Fence included for the table saw doubles as a router table fence. You'll find that using this system is actually much nicer & more convenient than using a typical router table or hand held router for those cuts where the fence is not required to be offset, especially if the table saw is set up with large outfeed tables. Another great advantage is being able to make laser straight dadoes without having to change table saw blades. CSA certified meeting CSA C22.2 #105-1953 and UL 987 standards!

One year old and I still love it!
5/ 5stars

This saw replaced an older Craftsman contractor saw which had served me well but I needed more accuracy and power. This saw provides all of that and more. Assembly was a piece of cake. Squaring the miter slot to the blade with the Craftsman required the loosening of six bolts, two of which were only accessible while laying on the floor and getting a face full of sawdust. On the Grizzly I loosened three bolts...tap...tap...tap...and the table was square. Took about two minutes. The fence adjustment is just as easy. Speaking of the fence, this is a real, rock-solid fence. With this fence and the rail mounted tape and magnifier, you can make accurate adjustments within 1/32" or even better.. Last week I cut a 4" wide rail too short and did not notice the error until I had already moved the fence. I simply reset the fence to a 4" cut. When I compared the new 4" rail to the other they were a perfect match. Repeatable precision is a real benefit. Love it. I had a router mounted on my old saw and this was the clincher in my decision to buy the G1023RLWX. If you have never used a router in a table of this size, find a friend with a saw mounted router and try it. You will buy the Grizzly. I did not use the clamps that came with the saw but drilled the table to accommodate the router and my Router Raizer. With my added outfeed table, I have a router table with over sixteen square feet of working area. I have used it to route an edge profile on a 32" diameter table top. No problem! My G1023RLWX is also much quieter than my older saw though I still wear hearing protection. I had been using my shop vac for dust collection but have recently upgraded to a 2hp system with a 1 micron bag and my dust is now under control. Did I mention power? This saw has all the power I will ever need and then some. In summary, this is all the saw I had hoped it would be and it has upgraded my work by several degrees. Now even my mistakes are made with precision. Thank you Grizzly for a great product at a great price.

As an addendum: Just the other day I was making some V-groove boards for the back of a hutch. I had set the blade at a 22 1/2 degree angle using the angle gauge on the cabinet. I did not use my Wixey angle gauge as the tape on the cabinet would be "close enough." After cutting the boards and in preparation to setting the blade back to 90 degrees I did put the Wixey gauge on the blade. It read 22.5 degrees! Again, thank you, Grizzly.

Like the table saw

No complaints with function of the table it has plenty of power to do the job. The only thing I am a little disappointed with is the amount of sawdust produced. When you use the plate that allows the blade guard attachment it leaves a wide gap around the saw blade which throws sawdust on the floor. I do have it attached to a dust collection system.

Super Saw!

I've had this saw for three months now. I'll never have to buy another. Power to spare even when cutting 12/4 hard maple. Assembly was straightforward, alignment was smooth. Haven't tried the blade that came with it, but my Tenryu Gold Medal takes full advantage of that awesome power. I've found this saw to be extremely accurate with predictable repeatability when duplicating cuts. The OEM fence is dead on and I've learned to trust it when setting up a repeat cut after changing settings and coming back to cut another duplicate board. I'm a hobbyist furniture builder and I must say, this saw makes me look like a pro. My projects are coming out tight and square with a whole lot less finish work to achieve great results. Thank you Grizzly, for pricing industrial tools competitive enough for average people to afford.

this table saw is worth every penny and more, easy set up everything lined up perfect, make sure you get help ,very heavy

They delivered this with a lift gate semi truck. Packaging was intact. We rolled it onto my pickup truck and I took it down to the shop. I took apart the packaging piece by piece until the only thing left to get off the truck was the core of the machine on the pallet. It was still pretty heavy. It took four of us to lift it off the pickup. Assembly was very straight forward. It helped to watch other's YouTube reviews on assembly. Great machine.

This saw deserves a write up!

I received the saw in great working order. I liked assembling and I learned quite a bit about the ingenuity that grizzly produces. I compared this to other saws on the market, read the review section happy I did. If your hesitant I can confidently this saw!

Excellent value for the money spent!
5/ 5stars

I've owned this saw a little over a month and so far I'm very impressed with it's power and construction quality. This is my 2nd Grizzly tool purchase in 2 years. The quality of the cast iron is high with no pitting as far as I can tell and the table is very flat. The Powder coat finish is also very good. Assembly went fairly well with only one issue. Be sure to relocate the paddle switch before installing the front fence rail as that step seems to be out of order in the manual. All in all I'm very pleased with my purchase. I contemplated other brands but in the end went with Grizzly because of the value delivered.

Has not been a good saw for me. My son took it to set it up while I was on vacation and won't give it back. This saw is useless to me. He loves it!

Great saw
5/ 5stars

After many years of a contractor saw, this is a giant step up. There is no comparison.

5/ 5stars

This is a terrific saw for the money. It easily cuts through 2" lumber without hesitation. It is rugged and well made. Assembly was straight forward. Previous experience in assembling and adjusting previous table saws is helpful but probably not essential. I would definitely recommend 10-2 wire from you circuit breaker panel to the outlet. It is one heavy saw, so make sure your mobile base is up to the load.
I'm glad I opted for 240V and 5 HP. It is aGREAT product.

Fantastic saw especially for the price. Well built.

Initial Review - Great Table Saw
5/ 5stars

Easy set up direction very clear, I would recommend getting a friend to assist with the set up, and extra set of hands would have been very useful. I purchased this saw before getting my power run in my shop, so it was killing me having it sitting there waiting for the electrician. Now that I have the power run I have done the fine tuning on the fence. I cant tell you what a pleasure it is to have a saw that is spot on you don't have to breakout the tape measure for every cut... and the power is amazing... I ran a couple of reclaimed red oak boards through 2" thick... was like I was cutting balsa wood... I am extremely pleased
I also purchased the extended rails which are on back order (I received a post card 2 months out saying that Grizzly could not tell me when they would be in stock) a little frustrating since I can't rearrange the shop for the new saw until the extended rails come in. Overall an outstanding product for the money...

Great Saw & Outstanding Customer Service
5/ 5stars

I've owned the saw for a few months now. Saw was delivered without any issues. Assembly was easy and everything fit like a glove. Router table is ok, but had I paid attention when ordering I don't think I would've bought this saw. Router table has no tracks for jigs or other attachments you may want to use. You use your table saw fence as your router fence. Saw itself is everything I can ask for and then some. Plenty of power!!!

I just recently had my first warranty issue. My knob on my fence came off and won't go back on. I emailed Grizzly and informed them what happened. I received an email back within a couple hours giving me instructions as to what I needed to do. The next day I emailed the info that was required and within a few hours I received an email stating my items had already shipped. This is outstanding customer service!!! Grizzly has earned a customer for life with me. I've got a few machines I'm getting ready to purchase. I assure you now they will be Grizzly machines.

Thank You Grizzly!!!

Everything I wanted in a table saw.

Always happy with Grizzly stuff. Well packaged, goes together smoothly, works great.

Wonderful product
5/ 5stars

Great saw at the price I paid.
5/ 5stars

his is a great saw at a very reasonable price. I would like to see a combination blade guard/dust collector and 4 inch dust collector hose underneath.

Awesome Saw
5/ 5stars

Shipped excellently, installation took longer than normal but I am a little crazy about getting it Exact. I do have to say that after the adjustment it was a very true saw. Tables are flat and the whole thing is constructed well. I would buy another but I don't think I will ever need one!

Excellent machine
5/ 5stars

This is my second machine. I had an older version. But this newer model is by far the best outhere for the money and quality. Everything works perfectly out of the box. Don't be fouled with higher priced brand name. This machine will beat them straight out. This a professional industrial grade machine for the serious woodworking guys.
I installed the sliding table attachment, and I love this machine.

Love this SAW!!!
5/ 5stars

I bought the saw about a month ago. I have been using it to cut small oak trim to full size Walnut door that are 1.75 thick. It cuts like butter! I did have some fine tuning to do on the fence, setting saw stops for 45. It was easy to do, the direction were well written, thank you Grizzly for doing a great job and for a awesome product!!

I love the saw
5/ 5stars

Heavy, rugged and super powerful!
5/ 5stars

This is my 8th grizzly machine. I've had no troubles with this saw for the one year I've owned it. I cut 8/4 maple, oak, Walnut and hard maple with no trouble at all. The extended wing for the router gives the saw extra mass to dampen vibration. I use a 40 tooth Woodworker ll blade. I also have the blade stabilizer on it. When I added the stabilizer the noise level went down considerably. I do change the blade to a 24 tooth ripping blade when I have a lot of ripping to do. It makes a big difference when you're ripping 8/4 maple 8 feet long. The Saw will take an 8 foot plank of maple no trouble at all. The motor hardly even changes tone.
When moving the saw into my shop I had to take the table off because it was too heavy for me to move by myself. When I put the base in its spot I looked inside to check out the belt and the motor and how it was designed. For some reason I thought I'd put my fingers on the bolts that hold the mechanism to the base and no word of a lie every visible bolt was loose! Finger loose! I could turn every one of them with my bare fingers! If I had not removed the table these loose bolts would have gone unnoticed. I shutter to think what would've happened if I operated the saw in that condition? I do not hold this against Grizzly quality because I assume it was just an oversight by a quality control inspector. I tightened all the bolts and had no trouble with the Saw.
I also use an Incra fence system with my saw. It fit no trouble at all and works great in conjunction with the 1023.
The hose for the blade dust collection does get clogged from time to time. This is just a nuisance and takes a little time to rectify.
I am very happy with my Grizzly 1023 Saw. I highly recommend it for anyone looking for a high powered tablesaw. This thing is a beast! I don't think there's anything you can't run through it.

Have no complaint. Nice to have a powerful precision machine. Guide Rail is wonderful. Out feed table is even better.

Slight dis-colorization in areas of the machined surface on top after cleaning, but that's a minor issue. Its not meant to be a dinning room table.

amazing saw

i had my old contractors saw for 30 years and when the bearing in the carriage wore out it was time for replacement. this saw is nothing short of awesome. i can cut thick hardwood stock and the saw responds like your cutting a pice of paper! super smooth cuts and tbe fence system is best ive ever seen

Heavy duty product, lots of assembly needed.

G1023RLWX Review
5/ 5stars

I recently replaced my right-tilting contractor's saw with the 5 HP Grizzly G1023RLWX left-tilting cabinet saw. I picked it up from the UPS Freight Terminal since my rural location would not have been readily accessible for tractor-trailer delivery. The palletized unit was loaded into the back of my pickup. Once home, I improvised a ramp to unload it.

Setup was straightforward and well documented. I mounted a router base underneath the table top with the hardware provided and added a switch for controlling the router. I mounted a pair of Board Buddy wheels on the rip fence using the 12" aluminum track. If I had to do it again, I would have bought the 24" track. I ended up cutting the 12" track in half in order to position the wheels where I wanted them.

I used the saw to rip and cross-cut 4/4 walnut lumber. The Shop Fox fence required no realignment, working so well that I cross-cut a wide table top without using my cutoff box.

I'm glad that I opted for the 5 HP motor, though I had to add a 30 amp circuit in order to do so. I look forward to many years of good service from this well-designed saw.

Great Price for a Quality Product
5/ 5stars

I've waited many years to buy such a high quality cabinet saw, and when I saw the price for this saw that had a built-in router wing, I had to buy it. This saw's precision fence, with the stability and work area of the table, makes it perfect for shaping all sizes of work-pieces with my new router! The fence will provide a solid guide for crisp dados or for using bits without guide bearings. And the saw's power cuts through oak like it was butter. Now I'm looking at all of the other equipment Grizzly offers in their catalogue.

Best Decision
5/ 5stars

I recently moved and as a consequence had to sell my Delta Unisaw, which I had for about 20-years, due to cost to transport and storage costs while my new home was being built. When I settled in my new home I went about replacing my large woodworking tools, including the table saw. I first looked at the tried-and-true, i.e. the Delta Unisaw but experienced sticker shock. Saws comparable to the one I left behind (Delta, Jet, Powermatic) were between $2,400 and $3,200, well above the price I was willing to pay. So I started looking at Craigslist for a used saw but my remote location made delivery difficult and good cabinet saws were few and far between. I even considered downgrading to a contractor or hybrid say. Then I found this 5-hp Grizzly. It seemed too good to be true and so I thought it was. I checked reviews until they were coming out of my ears, virtually all of them positive, about the saw and about Grizzly in general. I even called Grizzly to ask specific questions about how and why this saw was over $1,000 less than the nearest comparable (and at that only 3-hp). With some reservation, prompted only by the adage that if it seems to good to be true it probably isn't, I went ahead and pulled the trigger. Best decision I've ever made. The saw is great! I can see no flaws in performance or precision. I married the saw with an Incra fence and it is the perfect combination of power and precision. And even with the cost of the incra fence (which I have long wanted) it was still hundreds less than the nearest competitor. On several occasions I have returned to the house and remarked to my wife how much I enjoy that saw and how glad I am I made that choice. In fact, I was so pleased that I went ahead and purchased a jointer and bandsaw from Grizzly and so far, I am pleased with all of them.

Basically this a Powermatic PM2000, but it's half the price and painted another color. LOVE IT

3/ 5stars

I bought this saw about 2 years ago. I was leery about buying a Grizzly after working with Powermatics and Deltas for 14 years. The saw works just as well as the other high-end brands. Boards come off square and true and the fence does not bind. My biggest gripe is the undermount system that holds the router in place. The edges of the handles are rounding off and the clips are removing paint and making gouges in my router. The saw also did not come with arbor wrenches to change the blade. I wish I could give it a higher rating, as this machine has single handedly changed my opinion on Grizzly machinery.

Excellent Saw
5/ 5stars

This is a great machine. I was worried about the delivery as I live in a small town residential neighborhood. Got the lift gate service and the delivery was a breeze. The boxes were in great shape when they arrived, the driver put the saw at the curb and I broke everything down and carried the saw into my basement with my hand truck. The cosmoline was easy to get off with WD 40. The saw went together as described in the manual. I put the thing together by myself with no real issues. This was so easy I would never hesitate to get another piece of equipment from Grizzly. As for the saw it is just plain outstanding, powerful, no vibration, great price, the fence is super. Very happy ! I would definitely recommend this saw and Grizzly.

This thing is a Hoss. A heavy industrial grade tool.

I have owned my saw for a few years now and haven't been able to run anything through it that would bog it down.

Common Questions and Answers about the G1023RLWX:

What are the main differences between the G1023RL-Series and the G0690-Series table saws?

Aside from color and outward appearances, there are 6 primary differences between these series of machines: the drive system, dust extraction components, switch lock-ability, blade guard spreader/riving knife release mechanism, the fence, and the country of origin.

What is the difference between the G1023RL-Series and G0690-Series belt-drive systems?

The G1023RL-series features a poly-V "Serpentine" belt-drive system, which is quieter and transfers power more efficiently than a standard single V-belt drive system. The G0690-series features a triple V-belt drive system, which does a better job of maintaining a consistent transfer of power when under load than a standard single V-belt drive system.

What is the difference between the G1023RL-Series and G0690-Series dust extraction systems?

The G1023RL-series encapsulates the underside of the blade with a dust hood that is connected directly to the dust port via an internal dust hose. This allows a dust collector to remove the majority of dust that falls through the table, and it helps keep the other components inside the cabinet clean. This system requires less cleaning and maintenance than that of saws where the dust falls straight through to the bottom of the cabinet. The G0690-series has a fully-enclosed cabinet with a sloped bottom that allows gravity to direct incoming dust toward the dust port.

What is the difference between the G1023RL-Series and G0690-Series mag switches?

The G1023RL-series features a lockable mag switch with an included key-lock padlock. The G0690-series features a mag switch that can also be disabled from accidental use with a special pin, but it does not accommodate a padlock, so it can't be completely locked.

What is the difference between the G1023RL-Series and G0690-Series blade guard spreader/riving knife release mechanism?

The G1023RL-series is equipped with a quick-release lever to unlock/lock the spreader/riving knife when changing between blade guards. The G0690-series is equipped with an easily-accessible knurled knob that unlocks/locks the spreader/riving knife with a quick rotation.

General Questions and Answers:

How do I know which size of motor I'll need for my table saw?

Assuming the correct blade is installed for any specific type of cut, the answer primarily depends on these three factors: (1) your average stock thickness, (2) your typical wood type or variety, and (3) your anticipated cutting frequency or overall demands placed on the saw. First, it is important to note that with a slow enough feed rate, any of our table saws can cut through a piece of hardwood up to that saw's maximum cutting height. Unfortunately, using too slow of a feed rate can result in burn marks in your workpiece, and using a feed rate that is so aggressive that it causes a motor to bog down will quickly increase the motor's internal temperature to a state of thermal breakdown. Once a motor reaches this state, continued operation (without allowing sufficient cool-down time between cuts) will result in the motor becoming so hot that its winding insulation will completely fail and the motor will die. A larger motor, however, could easily perform the exact same type of work without ever reaching a state of thermal breakdown. With that in mind, your goal should be to select a motor size that will handle the majority of what you'll be cutting on a regular basis, without bogging the motor down. To translate this into a more practical perspective, generally speaking, a 1.5 HP motor used with an aggressive feed rate can repeatedly cut 6/4 (1.5") soft woods and 4/4 (1") hardwoods without bogging down. A 3 HP motor, on the other hand, can repeatedly cut the same type of stock with the same type of feed rate at approximately twice that size without bogging down.

What are the differences between contractor, hybrid, and cabinet saws?

A "Contractor" table saw is generally a light-duty saw with an open-stand and is usually equipped with a 1.5 HP to 2 HP motor that can be operated on a common 120V power supply, making it portable and convenient enough to take from jobsite to jobsite for carpentry work, trim work, and small cabinetry or furniture work. To keep the weight down, contractor saws often use sheet-metal wings instead of cast-iron wings, and their trunnions and other internal components use less cast iron or steel, making them much less beefy than those same components used in cabinet saws. A few other typical hallmarks of contractor saws are non-enclosed motors (making them slightly louder and sometimes resulting in a lack of dust collection) and trunnions mounted to the bottom of the table instead of the cabinet (making them slightly more difficult to align the blade to the miter slot or fence). The lighter-duty components used in their construction typically means that contractor saws also cost less than other saw types. The low cost, high portability, and convenience of operating on a 120V power supply, combined with included fence systems that often rival those used on cabinet saws, has historically made the contractor saw a favorite option for the hobbyist or beginning woodworker. A "Cabinet" table saw is a heavy-duty saw with an enclosed cabinet-style stand and usually a 3 HP or larger motor that operates on a 240V power supply, making it the top choice for professional woodworkers, serious amateurs, or production shops that require day-in and day-out reliability and the ability to regularly cut thick hardwoods. Unlike contractor saws, cabinet saws have much thicker castings for the trunnions and arbor assembly, which attach to the cabinet instead of the table (making blade alignment adjustments easier), and they usually have full cast-iron wings, which combined with the beefier trunnions and heavy cabinet stand, give them a lot more vibration-dampening weight. Additionally, the enclosed cabinet stands result in quieter operation and usually have much better dust collection. A "Hybrid" table saw is a newer category of saw that is considered to be a cross between a contractor saw and a cabinet saw. Like cabinet saws, hybrid saws typically have cabinets or stands with enclosed motors (providing quieter operation and easier dust collection) and trunnions that mount to the stand (making blade alignment adjustments easier). Like contractor saws, hybrids are generally constructed with lighter-duty components and materials (keeping costs and overall weight down), and they are usually equipped with 1.5 HP to 2 HP motors (allowing them to operate on a common 120V power supply). Because hybrid saws are often priced near contractor saws and they offer many of the additional benefits that cabinet saws provide over contractor saws, they are quickly becoming the saw of choice for the serious hobbyist or the professional woodworker on a budget.

How do I know what type of blade I should buy?

Blade choice is determined by the type and purpose of cut, hardness and thickness of stock, and desired trade-offs between cutting speed versus cut quality. Generally speaking, a blade with fewer teeth cuts faster but makes a lower quality cut, and a blade with more teeth cuts slower but makes a higher quality cut. We offer a wide variety of blades from a handful of different manufacturers. All of our blades are clearly designated by either blade function, cut type, or material type.

What is the purpose of the riving knife?

The riving knife is used for non-through cuts. It is a metal plate positioned in alignment behind the blade to prevent the newly-cut workpiece sides from pinching on or pushing against the backside of the blade and causing kickback. The riving knife also acts as a barrier behind the blade to reduce the risk of hands being pulled into the blade if they are positioned incorrectly when kickback occurs.

Can I still use my table saw without connecting it to a dust collector?

Yes, but we don't recommend it. Without using a dust collector, the dust will quickly pile up inside and around your machine, resulting in additional cleaning time later. Besides making a mess, fine dust can be harmful to your respiratory system. A better choice is to connect your table saw to a properly-designed dust collection system that at least pulls the recommended minimum CFM for your saw's dust port.

Can I cut metal or other non-wood materials with your table saws?

Although our table saws will physically cut many different types of materials, they are only designed to cut natural wood or wood-based materials (plywood, MDF, OSB, etc.). Cutting materials not intended to be cut on a woodworking table saw can result in serious injury to the operator or bystanders, and it could decrease the life of the saw and void the warranty.
