bought this product a couple weeks ago after the gear box went out of my rigid planer. working good with oak wood with some snipe. if used as directed it is a very good machine. would recommend this machine so far to anyone looking to buy
I bought this machine many years ago. It works great. I have planed many types of wood with it. Mostly Oak and Walnut. I have no complaints. Great Machine!!
I bought one ten years ago and have been very happy with it. The brushes finally need replacing, didn't have time to deal with it, so I bought another one and order the brushes. When I have time, I will replace the brushes and pass it on to my son. Great deal for a small, inexpensive planer.
I bought this a few weeks ago and right out of the box I was super pleased with it. Anything that I have thrown at it so far has not been a problem. I have used almost every brand out there such as Dewalt, Porter Cable, Craftsman and Makita so far Grizzly has out performed them all. I do a lot of re purposing and up-cycling with lumber and as long as it is clean I have no complaints about this planer.
I bought this planer as a birthday gift for my boyfriend and he loves it
Love my thickness planer! The end finish is so good that my projects take little prep before finishing.
happy i found this company, i have been wanting a planer for some time, i just never found one of my liking until i stumbled across a youtube video of this one, what these 2 guys put this thru and it just kept on working was quite impressive, this sealed the deal, plus i got it on sale under 300.00, and was even able to finance it. it is all steel construction, it not really loud, and it does a awesome job on making reclaimed wood look new again. i will be buying a lathe from them as well. thank you for making awesome product.
Can't beat it for the price. Usable right out of the box no adjustments were required. If your considering buying it, be sure to get the dust hood I'm shocked how well it contains the dust.
I bought this a month ago and it has done what I needed it to. For this size of my home shop it is heavy enough and also light enough to stay still and move around. Only time will tell about the moving parts.
Have not used it much yet, as waiting for cut lumber to dry. Looks and runs great. Well satisfied. Arrived promptly after ordering it. Set up was a snap.
This Planer works great, a little noisey, i think it will quiet down once we throw in our carbide blades. A much better planner than a rigid or anything you'd get out of the box store, and it's for a fair reasonable price.
I purchased this some time ago to replace my 12.5 inch planer molder I have had for many years. The old planer molder broke a shaft and several parts were damaged. I don't do as much woodworking as I used to so I decided to get the smaller portable unit to make more space in my workshop. I just set it up a few days ago and started planing rough sawed cherry and walnut lumber. It worked well but seemed under powered. Planing an 8 x 1 inch board set for a 1/32 cut the planer choked down too easily. Actually the width of the cut was only 3 inch wide to start the planing because the board was somewhat bowed. A significant increase in powder would make it a much better planer.
