With a filter rating of 1-micron, the canister filter on this machine has 6 times the filtering area of regular bag filters and it has a built-in cleaning brush that is easy to operate from the outside. Simply move the convenient top-mounted lever back and forth to remove any dust caked onto the filter, and in seconds you are back to full performance capacity. This unit has a heavy-duty steel adapter that allows three 4" lines to be connected simultaneously. The steel duct from the impeller to the filter improves performance and reliability and with just a glance you'll know when it's time to haul out the chips thanks to the clear bottom bags. Extra bags ship with the machine and are available from us to really make cleaning easy. CSA Certified meeting CAN/CSA C22.2 #243-M91 and UL 1017-4th standards!

I bought this dust collector to replace my old Grizzly dust collector that the motor went bad on. This one seems to do a better job I like the dust canister better than the bag.
We need the 1.5 hp unit but the canister filter is not bundled with that unit (it is bundled with all of the other units) without and extra fee that makes it more expensive than the larger unit.
Also got conflicting information about if an order for 10 units got any sort of discount. Was told no and then told yes after I had purchased 6 of the 10 unit 2 at a time.
Sometimes it takes 4-5 working days to get an order delivered and sometimes is take 8-10 working days from the order date to get delivered
unit is fine but customer service is uneven.
I made the decision to replace my old grizzly vac,It had given me many years of great service. I placed the order on line and with in a few days they were dropping my new vac in my driveway. Great service and great prices. Thank you.
This dust collector has plenty of power to have multiple devices at the same time, and not have any issues with suction. I actually leave one of the other blast gates partially open if I'm only using one device since it has so much suction power.
The box was damaged upon arrival, but the packaging was sufficient to protect the equipment pieces inside, so there was no damage to the unit.
Received dust collector in mid-February. There was no shipping damage and the DC was straight-forward to assemble and setup. I ran a dedicated 240V, 15A circuit for the DC and connected 1 port of the DC directly to the table saw using 4 flexible hose and a blast gate. Another 4 hose and BG allows connection either to the band saw or miter saw. Noise level is high, but about what I expected. Im very satisfied with the DC.
After upgrading from a basic jobsite saw to a more powerful cabinet saw, my simple 2-stage shop vac was incapable of keeping up. I was also tired of having to constantly move the vacuum to the other tools in the shop every time I needed to use them. Upgrading my dust collection was obviously required, and although I looked at many of Grizzly's competitorsincluding those at 3 times the price that included a built-in cyclone/separatorI decided on the G0548ZP to give me the best combination of price and power as well as a 1 micron filter; and I'm glad I did! The assembly was simple enough for one person to complete (make sure you have a 12mm socket, although Grizzly does include a stamped wrench) and the included gaskets ensure an air-tight fit at each connection (I would recommend taping the seams of the 6-inch to 4-inch adapter as it's just attached with a single screw). The power is more than enough to keep pace with all of the operations I've been running on my table saw, and when using it with my miter saw I've seen a noticeable increase in dust extraction. The overall loudness of the machine in my shop is around 95dB when running, an increase of nearly 50dB in the shop, so if you're putting this in an enclosed shop I'd suggest hearing protection, but it's not as loud as some of the 1-1.5HP machines I've used from other manufacturers (we have a 1.5HP dust collector from another well known brand attached to a CNC in my department at work and that is easily 15dB louder). The bag attachment does take some work to get right, and I can see a second stage cyclone in my future to help prolong the filter's life, but so far chip collection has been fantastic, and the quick cleaning handle on the canister filter makes dislodging chips and finer particles into the bag a simple exercise.
This machine has tripled my cfm of my previous Grizzly collector. It is hooked up to my two stage Super Deputy Cyclone via 6 hose. It then reduces to my 4 shopwide collection pipe system in a 16x 24 shop. It can easily operate two 4 port machines at the same time. I isolated the collector in an insulated small room to midicate the noise this more powerful machine produces. This machine will take care of all your small shop needs!
Canister was dented when received. Perhaps better packaging.
I purchased a new 2 hp grizzly dust collector to replace one that is at least 19 yrs old. Everything matched up with my old one saving me a ton of time swapping out units. By the way the one that l bought 19yrs ago used is still in operation servicing a miter, panel and radial arm saw on other side of shop. This is a proven winner!!
The box came with minor exterior damage so I was not too concerned. Upon opening however, the interior packing foam was of such poor quality it was almost useless. It appears the package had been dropped at some point causing the contents to shift and break the foam apart. With the foam broken, the parts were able to shift around causing damage. I was able to straighten the damage with some pliers to bend parts back into shape. The unit itself runs well and is quieter than expected. Grizzly just needs to improve the packaging end of production.
This is a well built unit. It is relatively quiet and works really well. I would definitely buy this again.
Works well with very good suction. Although had to ship original one back due to a motor short, the replacement works flawlessly.
This is the second unit that I have owned. I bought this one based upon my satisfaction with my first purchase. However, when assembling the unit it became evident that the motor support housing was welded up out of square. After deciding it was something I could live with, I continued assembly with much difficulty due to the base mounting holes not lining up. One of the casters catches on one of the mounting bolts and I have modified it to make it work. The most disappointing aspect were the leaks that I discovered in the ductwork that connects the blower to the filter housing. There are quite a few pin holes that are evident where dust has been leaking out. I will have to disassemble the unit to seal the ductwork from the inside. This has been an unusual experience for me. I have never had any problems with Grizzly products in the past.
I bought the Grizzly vac to replace the Jet vac that was really hard to put the bags on with out a third hand. The Grizzly vac is so much easier to use and more powerful to boot. I have been impressed with the quality of Grizzly machines that i own. (Table saw,15 in planer,8in jointer, band saw, and drill press and various other tools.Thank you Grizzly you gor your fine macines and your tech support.
Heavy duty unit seems to be made of quality materials. Just finished installed the duct work to my different machines. Works well with the ones I have used it with; planer, jointer and CNC.
The collector gets dual use. I clean ductwork in my horse stable with it, works great. And then, its published use as a shop sawdust collector, also works great.
Can easily run two machines including a 24 inch drum sander which puts out a TON of dust. I no longer need to wear a dust mask when using the sander
Louder than I hoped for but makes up for that through performance.
I would like to see a cloth bag option. not sure how long the plastic will last
So far, so good. I'm still setting up my dream wood-shop. I have assembled and mounted two dust collection mainline headers on the walls extending out from one corner of the shop and attached the G0548ZP Dust Collector to both headers. This leaves a third suction port on the impeller that I am not currently using. Test runs on my table saw and planer have been GREAT - no dust to sweep up after cutting, and the saw has minimal dust remaining on it. Very happy, nothing negative to report.
I upgraded from an older Grizzly unit. It served well for over 25 years. The new filter stops virtually all dust from my tools.
I am glad I purchased this dust collector. Now I don't get dust all over my Harley, and it works well and not a noisy as I thought it would be. I would recommend this product.
For years I've been getting by with a shop vac-based dust collection system. The Grizzly does the job much better. While not quiet, the Grizzly is much more tolerable than the whine of my shop vac.
Great dust collector for a great price! I have 5 machines hooked up and suction never gives me problems. Blast gates are a must have! Easy to put together and set up.
The suction on this thing is amazing. It can run for hours on my CNC machine, as well as power a second vac hose, and still have plenty of suction to run the rest of my equipment in my shop. When I tested it, it nearly sucked my hand in! Excellent quality as well.
I have started a new business venture and needed to upgrade my dust collection capabilities and the 2hp 240 volt Polar Bear G0548ZP has been and much needed addition to my shop.
This was a much needed addition to my shop. Now I am trying to figure just where the best place to park it will be so I can hook up my other tools.
Thanks, Bruce T.
I went from a shop vac to this. This is an amazing invention. I should have had one of these a long time ago! This makes clean up time 1/10 as long!
Just what I wanted. Fine wood dust was starting to irritate my throat and sinuses. This dust collector traps these small particles. Great power! Works well and instructions were easy to follow.
I bought this dust collector and it was shipped promptly. No visible damage to the boxes when they arrived. When I opened the filter box, I discovered that in packing, the filter screen and fabric was crushed. I sent an email with photos to Grizzly advising of the issue. Almost immediately, they shipped out a replacement. You can't beat customer service like that!
This is a great little unit that serves several machines!
Assembled easily, works great. I have 4" tubing runs to a lathe, a bandsaw and a jointer.
I searched every manufacturer of dust collectors. A woodworking friend had just purchased a different manufacture and it cost twice as much as mine. Then we decided to just do a side by side test of his and my new grizzly. The grizzly was far superior. He returned his and has ordered a grizzly. As for me I am so glad I purchased this machine. It works well beyond my expectations. I plan of filling my shop with grizzly products
I have three dust collectors in my shop all are canister type collectors the other two are by another manufacturer ",top of the line" , this machine completely out performs the others and services more machines.
I'd like to talk about damage that both the delivery driver and I noticed to the two shipping boxes for my G0548ZP Dust Collector.
If I stand in front of box 1 of 2: 6 staples were ripped loose at the northeast corner; slight crushing of box on the top east edge; gouge on the top-south middle (2" x 2"); gouge on middle north side (2" x 6"); gouge on the bottom west side (2" x 3"). Upon opening the box, Styrofoam was crushed and broken on east side.
If I stand in front of box 2 of 2: Two tears along top at north edge and south edge; two deeper gouges on the south face (2" x 2" & 2" x 4"), through which I could see the Styrofoam.
For the contents in box #1, there were no dings, no dents, no scratches or blemishes on any of the components inside. In box #2, there was a slight dent in the canister. I applied pressure to both sides of the dent and it popped out (no damage to the filter). All necessary hardware for assembly was there in both boxes.
Thus I am hoping that you will forward my KUDO's to the Packaging Engineering Department. My dust collector obviously encountered a few gorillas on its way to me, but the fine job that they did kept my equipment safe and unharmed. I'm sure they don't often receive praise, so please pass along my thanks for a job well done!!!
All parts were there and nothing was damaged, and it was easy enough to put together. It delivers excellent suction, doing a great job collecting chips from my equipment. The torrent of chips going down the house while planing a 10" board is very satisfying to watch! No leaks in my unit as another reviewer unfortunately experience.
It's loud though, coming in at 94dBa in the enclosed room I keep my collector in. With the door closed it measures 80dBa, still a bit loud for my taste. I'd really like to be able to work at the lathe without my ear protection in.
