I've had it a mpnth or so now and simply love it, that's why I now have your Lathe as well I love Grizzly products
I have been working with a 650 CFM single bag collector for about 15 years. A rather unique set-up made it "adequate" for the main 5 machines I had. As I added to mt collection of machines my single bag unit wasn't cutting it. This 3hp monster kicks butt!! I only have one 4" branch hooked up so far. The branch is connected to the original 5 machine set-up and is a HUGE improvement. Noteworthy is the fact that i have one of the three 4" inlets wide open. I'll be doing the other 2 inlets soon. My miter saw will no longer be a dusty nuisance.
I bought this machine online and 12 hours later it was installed in my shop I highly recommend this unit. Great service great product.
Good dust collector. Excellent suction. Couple of things I didnt like was while putting it together none of the bolts wanted to start. All but about three were crossthreaded. I did however finally get it together. Also the 7 inch outlet makes it hard to run permanent duct work. Why not 6 or 8 inch?
I have had dust collector for a month an it is a great addition to my wood shop. Would highly recommend this unit.
It seems to have a problem in that one bags fills completely while the other is only 1/4 full. Is it supposed to work like this?
We assembled and installed our new grizzly dust collector out of the box in 90 minutes. Quality parts and plenty of horsepower for 3 of our machines . It's a good timesaver. This new one replaced the one I bought in 1991.
I bought this because my 2hp could not pull thru a cyclone that I added fast enough
apparently I bought too big of a cyclone because the this three hp does better but still not enough
piped both the 2hp and 3 hp to a tee on top of the cyclone,
both machines plug into the same receptacle which is automatically turned on by the saws, etc in my shop
NOW the cyclone really works good, packs the dust in the bag underneath it
I would recommend buying this dust collector with the better filters to use by itself.
As this is what I wish I had done instead of buying a cyclone and then running two dust collectors to make it work right(two much air flow wasted in the cyclone)
The upper bags load up with dust and reduces the suction tremendous. Dust collects on the metal edge inside the bag and doesn't fall into the bottom bag. Have to clean the upper bags too often. Not happy with it.
I bought this dust collector to replace another brand that wore out got it hooked up and have used it a couple times, it really has a lot more suction than the old one. I'm 100 %satisfied with this purchase as I am with the other grizzly products that I own.
Bought this one to add to my existing system which was a G1029 rated @ 1600CFM and a 2HP motor,12" impeller. I need more power to accommodate my 4-head moulder which generates a tremendous volume of chips. This one is rated @ 2300CFM, 3HP with a 12.75" impeller and is set up to operate in parallel with the original collector connected to the 2 ports ejecting fewer chips and the bigger one taking the majority from the other 2 ports. I also use the larger one to evacuate chips from my 20" planer and the smaller one for the jointer, table saw, shaper or straight line rip saw. This works great as I can run one or the other or both simultaneously for whatever is needed without using a ton of power.
We had to wait two months for delivery, but we knew that when we ordered. Box arrived, assembled quickly and works great.
I love how much airflow I get out of this thing, especially after I dumped the 3x 4in inlet and am now piping air through 7" ducting. The whole unit came together easily. My only problems with the unit is the placement of the switch, and the inlet. I would like the outlet at the end of the whole cart, rather than in the middle of the long side. The switch is mounted right on the motor, which means I have to bend down to turn on the unit. When I hooked hose straight to the inlet, I had to reach behind the unit to turn it on. If it was mounted on a plate above the wye of the outlet, it would improve it. Ideally the inlet would be on the end of the cart, as I say, because now I have to keep the whole unit about a foot away from the wall to make room for a 7" elbow.
