I bought this last year to help me work on remotely controlled model aircraft engines and it is perfect. The main and vernier scales are perfectly aligned so the caliper is extremely accurate unlike some other cheaper calipers which I have purchased from Banggood and Aliexpress. The thumb-lock mechanism functions perfectly and locks the caliper jaws in place ensuring the all inside, outside, depth, and step measurements remain true should you need to move the caliper to take a measurement. Other than that this is a great purchase. It is not that much more expensive than the cheap ones you can find at other places and the quality is significantly higher. This is a tool for professionals and a fairly priced one too.
I have used these calipers in the past and found them to be an excellent value
