i tried searching for reviews on this jointer but turns out there isn't much out there, so I figured I would relate my experience. I received this jointer UPS and everything was packaged well. After taking the jointer out I proceeded to setup the fence etc. Setup was a breeze and after checking everything for square I proceeded to check the knives. Right out of the box the knives were set perfectly with the out feed table. The solid cast iron fence is very sturdy and easy to align square. I have ran several board beet through it and so far it is actually more than I expected. For what I do, and the price, I can't imagine there is a better bench top jointer on the market. FYI. I have also ran several 6-8' length boards through it and even though it is a small bench top jointer with short bed lengths, it has cut perfectly square edge joints with patience while feeding. Great products and service from Grizzly and that's why my next purchase will be the GO513X2.
I've been using this jointer for a year now and have been very happy with it. I make guitars, small furniture, and other small wood projects for myself and to sell on Etsy and it's been everything I need.
However, after a year of use the blades needed replacing. I found that the screws holding one of the blades in place were completely seized, and even after applying Liquid Wrench and heat to the screws, I was unable to remove them. The jointer isn't very useful at the moment. I've contacted Grizzly Support and am waiting to hear back for advice.
First 11 months: Worth every penny and more. This month: we'll see.
Love grizzly products but was a bit unpleased with packing. Of the six cap screws listed in the inventory, 2 were the wrong size and 2 were missing. Luckily I believe I can get them locally without having to wait to assemble, but the inconvenience is irritating.
Just got my benchtop jointer in the mail today. After assembling and squaring the fence and blades, I put it through it's paces. I am really impressed. It does an exceptional job and I am pleased. This smaller benchtop jointer is really for the small project woodworker like me. I build small custom boxes, so this will be a very nice addition to my shop.
This is my first try with a jointer . Packaging was top notch, double boxed. Knives were off, had to adjust them. That was a neck breaker but since it was my first time setting them, (well got to learn how sometime). I ran a crocked and twisted 2x4 chunk thru flatten it out in 2 passes and squared it up in 2 passes also. Than ran some hard maple thru, did a beautiful job flatting and squaring them up too. I would recommend watching some you tube video's thought on jointer operation they will most likely save you some time and frustrations. Other than the Knives being out, I'm very happy with this jointer.
I purchased this small portable jointer knowing that Grizzly products are normally very quality, and was not let down. As a woodworking hobbyist, I've been using this jointer to straighten edges for table saw rips, and flatten sides for planing down to correct thicknesses for cabinet making (facefronts and drawers). The width is adequate for most of my needs, and I really appreciate how sturdy it feels and cuts. It's heavy, but definitely portable to get it out of the way when next steps are needed. I'm very happy with this tool and would recommend it highly.
\r\nIt's been working great. Great ordering from Grizzly, just wish they had some smaller stores around the country,to be able to pick up some of these tools from. I miss the store in Pa. Va. would be a good place to have a store maybe around Northern Va.
Great machine. It was very easy to set up. Took me 30-45 minutes to put together and set up. Very easy to do. Perfect for what I do.
Took sometime setting it up and getting it tuned but once its running its a dream. Fence is a pain and I really dont like it but it does the job well enough. Over all sub $300 and being a hobbyist one would be dumb not to purchase.
Received the jointer within a couple of days after I ordered it. Works great right out of the box
I ordered this jointer back in November of 2016 so I can't speak on longevity. It arrived 3 after 3 days and was well packed. Can't speak on the instructions because I assembled it without them. It was well adjusted from the factory. If you have room for a larger jointer, that would be the way to go, but this is the best of the bench top models. The box store 6" jointers are plastic and aluminum where the Grizzly is cast iron with a stamped steel base. \r\nThe cut quality is as good as you can expect from a jointer from any other manufacture. It's quiet compared to other stationary tools with universal motors and the built in impeller works great for clearing out chips. It come with a cloth bag for chip collection but I don't use it. I hook it up to a 4" hose with adaptor and just let it shoot chips in to the hose with the D/C turned off most of the time. The bag is nice to have because it works with other tools. \r\n\r\nWith the 28" overall bed length it's difficult to true up long lumber because the short beds can't "register" the high spots if they aren't on the table. Some type of extension wings remedy that and most people buying a jointer should be able to make some kind of fold up tables or some type of indeed/ out feed support. \r\nIf your short on space and lookin for a jointer that's easy to move, this is the best of the little ones\r\n
I purchased my jointer planer along with a thickness planer and between the two machines there is little surface prep left before I apply a finish. Love it!
I bought this product a little over a month ago and I am very glad I did!! Works very well!!
Arrived as promised in time for a christmas gift. Checked out fine and seems to be a worthwhile purchase. Nice heavy piece especially the cast iron fence- other brands were aluminum fences-- not nearly as sturdy.
very good machine used it the same day it arived, works well
I bought this jointer about a month ago, have used it several times. It works really well for the projects I make,(mostly smaller stuff). The ordering process was very easy and delivery was right on time. Thanks Grizzly for the great product!
I purchased this jointer to use in conjunction with my plainer for milling rough lumber into usable stock. So far I am very pleased with the results. It is heavy enough to be stable yet light enough to be put away when not in use which is great if you have limited work space. If you have the space and money for a bigger unit then you should probably pass on this jointer, but if you have budget and/or space concerns then you should consider this unit as it get the job done on smaller length stock.
This is a great piece of equipment. It does exactly what I wanted and expected it to do. You can buy other brands for the same price but for the money they don't come close to comparing with Grizzly quality and workmanship!!
Just got the chance to use this jointer, It works great. Nice smooth finish. I've had it for a month and i'm making a sewing supply holder for all my wife's sewing items. I'm using canary wood, with box joints and its turning out great. One of my boards had a small twist in it and the jointer took it right out. Thanks for a great product . Would definitely recommend this for any one that wants a great product. Thanks again Jerry
We bought this guy for the shop and it does just what we need. Its great for joining little things together. We've also run some pretty large pieces through including a live edge slab at a 45' it was a two person job though.
I got this Jointer a week ago, and am really impressed with how well this G0725 works!! This is my first Jointer, so I was not trying to buy the most expensive unit out there... just something to learn on, while providing a quality product. Well it certainly is high on the quality of cut! I started with a scrap 2x4 about 14" long... and it came out totally smooth and flat; I was so pleased. Then red oak and poplar, with equally fine results. \r\n\r\nI am only 4 or 5 hrs drive to the Missouri store, but I ordered and had it delivered which came very quickly. They must have put it on a truck as soon as I hung up the phone. It took little time unpacking the Jointer and setting it up. Most everything was set correctly out of the box... blades were flush to the outfeed table, which is most important. The only problem I had was with the Limit Block assembly. I called customer service, and they sent me a new set of those parts, I could not be happier with Grizzly's service, as well with the Jointer!\r\n\r\nThis is a benchtop model, and only has a 28" table length. I considered whether this would suit my needs and decided it would. My first projects include making face frame cabinets and various sizes of custom drawers. This tool should work out perfect.
Great jointer, plenty of power, wish I would of bought it sooner, five stars
Weight is a plus, stays put even without clamps. Like the bag more than I thought I would. Grizzly products haven't let me down yet.
all i got to say is wow. went together great. checked the cutting knifes set dead on and the fence was dead on a 90 deg.works great. very impressed thank you grizzly.
This little jointer is very solid and powerful for its size. Set up was quick and easy, the bed is perfectly flat. The only thing it is missing is a depth gauge so you don't have to check depth if cut each time you make a change. Definitely a good buy though
Excellent service from Grizzly. The jointer is very well made, easy to assemble, and works well.
Did not know if such a compact unit would be even worth the trouble. Was amazed with its capabilities can't imagine a floor model of its capacity doing anything more. The dust collection bag works so well I don't know if I will even bother to hook it up to my dust collector.
