I purchased this a few months ago and just had a chance to spend some time using it. I planed several board feet of rough sawn walnut ranging from 6 inches wide to 12 inches wide and have been very pleased with the results. The machine works very well as long as you are conservative on your cutting depth. Generally, I adjusted the depth by 1/2 rotation of the height adjustment at a time. Snipe exists but can be minimized if you are careful to ensure the wood enters the planer level. The chip collection system works very well. The only thing that I am not 100% happy with are the infeed and outfeed tables which are very difficult to make level with the base under the cutter head. They flex a bit so even if you level everything, the weight of large boards will impact the angle of the board. Since this is a portable model, there are not a lot of other options. I will probably build my own extended infeed and outfeed tables. I have no idea how difficult it will be to change the blades, but that will be a while in the future. If you are looking for a decent home-shop or portable planer, I recommend the G0889 planer since the 3 cutter head does a nice job and has that little extra capacity for boards a bit wider than 12 inches.
