Haven't used the lathe much yet, but it runs much quieter than I expected it to. The brakes were binding when I first turned it on. I had to remove them and remove a small amount of material on the pivot pad. Works perfectly now. It leaks some oil in different places but not so much to be bothersome. For the money I paid, I am well pleased.
