The 20T carbide-tipped blade cuts wood and wood-based material (plywood, MDF, OSB, etc.). The 40T carbide-tipped blade cuts soft metals (aluminum, copper, brass, etc.), melamine panels, and plastics. The abrasive blade/disc cuts steel. The diamond-tipped blade cuts tile, slate, brick, stone, concrete, etc. The 24" rails have a non-slip backing on the underside for secure grip on the workpiece, and the top of the track features a guide rail that fits directly into the grooved saw bottom, allowing the saw to slide smoothly and precisely along the workpiece in a perfectly straight line. Another awesome feature of this saw is its plunge-cutting action, which allows you to easily make window, electrical, or plumbing cut-outs in panels—without being required to lift and hold the guard out of the way, such as with a regular circular saw. Last but not least, this saw is also equipped with a dust-extraction port that connects to a regular shop vacuum to help keep your worksite cleaner.

was a bit skeptical about this but got it anyway. it's now my go to tool for cutting panels in my shop
Great purchase for the money
I thought that it would be years before I could justify buying a track saw, as most of them are upwards of $500. That was until I saw this one priced at $99 on sale, and I knew I couldnt pass it up. Im very impressed with it and Im so glad that I added it to my shop.
Purchased because of price haven't used yet but when I finally do I will write more but I know if its grizzly it will be great
No feedback given
I have several Grizzly products in my shop and they are of the highest quality. I had no hesitation about the mini track saw. I look forward to using it in further projects. David
This is a wonderful buy and I couldn't be more pleased with this purchase. Thanks, Grizzly...
I bought this saw with additional tracks because I need it to cut full length sheets of plywood. I did a few cuts on some scrap to check the quality and squareness on the cut. I immediately discovered the cuts right out of the box were not completely 90 degrees square. The saw has a little bit of play in the track/guide which seemed to be the culprit. I removed one of the green plastic strips on the actual track and glued it to the opposite side. It removes rather easily. This seems to angle the track saw just enough to make square cuts. I'm surprised grizzly hasn't addressed this yet.
I was a bit Leary in the beginning because of it's size, but I'll tell you what, this little machine cuts as good if not better than the bigger more expensive ones.
For $100.00 it was a great deal. Although, when I took it out of the box, the baseplate was cracked. Contacted Grizzly and they replaced it within a week. Have used it a couple of time since, works great!
got this for when I need to cut 4x8 sheets of plywood and osb
I purchased this mini track saw as a complement to my DeWalt Track Saw specifically to use on smaller and more delicate work and I have been pleased with the purchase.
POSITIVES: Handles well for smaller work, providing nice clean cuts. The saw is fairly solidly made. The Mini Track Saw Super Kit includes all the essential components without having to purchase anything extra and it sells for an EXCELLENT PRiCE! Also, the prices for extra saw blades and track sections are reasonable.
NEGATIVES: The tolerances for mating components such as the saw to track has a lot of slack and the joints of the track sections do not align very well, prohibiting the saw to slide smoothly across the joint.
I would recommend this saw package to anyone that has small projects and a limited budget. It cannot compete with the full size track saws on available power and ease of use, but at about one-sixth the price of the full sized saws, this little track saw is a good tool.
It requires excessive downward pressure to operate. Otherwise it performs beautifully
Easy to use; this saw is so much better than my old circular saw for cutting straight!
I purchased one of these kits back in October of 2017 for a shop space project that I have going on in my home. I also purchased two (2) of the optional extra guide rails (and joints) to give me an 8' track length should I ever need it. I have used (3) of the blades for cutting a multitude of materials including sub-floor OSB underlayment, interlocking polymer tiles, metal thresholds, drywall, plywood, door bottoms, etc. Every task I use this on makes me wonder why I did not purchase one of these sooner. The saw is light in weight, easily adjustable, blade changes are simple and with the high RPMs of the motor the blades provide cuts that are exceptionally good. I have used a vacuum on the saw's exhaust port for better collection of cutting material/shavings or an old sock with cable tie or rubber band should I not want to deal with setting up the vacuum attachment and hose. Some reviews have noted that the track joints can flex affecting the cut. I simply extend my cut lines and watch the saw's guide mark to maintain a "true" cutting line kerf. The track clamps are very easy to adjust and have quick adjust so clamping can be done one-handed as necessary. I highly recommend this tool in the kit form shown here, you will be amazed by all of the projects you can use this on.
I only used the mini saw once and it cut my first piece perfectly I don't use power tools on a daily basis but the weight and feel of the saw is just what I was hoping for great product.
Christmas present to myself. I have used it on plywood and it works great.
I was away from my home for the winter and need to remodel a cabinet. Unfortunately, I didnt have any of my shop tools with me, go I bought this tool with the straight edge guide to do the job. It delivered professional results from a simple hand tool. This took the place of a table saw for a fraction of the price!
Nice little saw for smaller jobs. Nice to not have to drag around the larger saw when it isn't really needed.
It is a good product for the price. I do not like the plunge cut feature, it is very stiff. Maybe it will wear in over time. It takes a lot of pressure to push down. It did come with 2 - 24" tracks, that surprised me.
This is a good quality saw for the price and sure beats free handing a long cut. I would recommend buying the kit with the additional track as I did. The only quality issue was the application of the non slip tape on the bottom of the track. Very sloppy, but an easy fix..
When pressed to cut 3/4" hard maple with the general purpose blade, it did not make a smooth cut, even with the track clamped down. Using the finish blade was better.
The mini track saw works as stated. I used it to cut 3/4 " plywood. The saw adjusts to this depth with additional 1/8" for the track and delivers a clean cut. I used one 24" track
and did not connect the two tracks together. One track clamped onto the workpiece well and provided a good cut guide. The saw moved easily along the track.
It is a basic type of tool with no added frills, but does deliver a clean cut on plywood. I didn't use blades for other materials yet, so can't comment. You must use ear protection as it is excessively loud. Would recommend for DIY use.
Very pleased with Grizzley support. Had a problem with the first unit I received and the resolved it immediately and sent me a new one.
I bought this kit for a bathroom remodeling project. It does a great job cutting Durock cement board, providing precise clean cuts for a tight fit. The plunge feature with adjustable depth stop is excellent for cutting subfloor panels without damaging any framing. The backing on the tracks keeps the track firmly in place, even in applications where the clamps can not be used. The motor is not the most powerful, but works fine with a moderate feed rate, allowing the blade to do the work.
Great saw and great customer service as well. The saw works as advertised works great for hardwood floors which I do professionally as a hardwood flooring contractor.
Thank you Grizzly!
I bought this track saw, simply because of the price. I was looking into getting a Makita or Dewalt for a long time, but couldn't justify the price. The saw is fine, it definitely lacks power. Cutting 3/4 inch plywood, proves towards the end of the 8 foot cut you can't push the saw too much, because of this, it causes more tear out than the larger more powerful saws. I mostly use it to rough cut larger sheets of plywood and it does the job okay, my biggest issue is the track. The track only comes in 24 inch sections. I purchased 4 of them. When attached with the rail connector I get the full 8 feet I am looking for. The problem is there is too much play at each of the joints. If Grizzly made a 4 foot and 8 foot individual track, it would greatly improve the accuracy and usefulness of this tools.
I have the larger model as well, I like it so much I couldn't pass up the value priced smaller model. I replaced the rubber edge guide with the more ridgid guide that's available as a replacement for the Festool edge guide, it's a little stiffer and cuts way down on the cross cut splintering. Very portable straight edge system excellent for use in tight work spaces.
I keep using it more and more instead of my table saw and my Makita plunge saw.
How come? Ill tell you.
This saw allows me to cut in no prep time, no dust, and no hassle any straight line in any piece of plywood smaller than 24 inches. I just draw all the angles on the plywood; place the track on the line and zip-zip I cut it. The procedure is similar to place a straight edge and mark with a pencil or cut paper with an utility knife.
I also use it to cut PVC barrels and other plastics and the amount of plastic dust that gets captured is amazing. You wont see any dust in your shop.
The secret is that the performance is much better than the engineering. It is extremely light and although it rocks when you check it, it actually doesnt rock when you cut because you are placing downward pressure on the right side of the track. The cuts are very sharp with very little chipping and it is powerful enough for what I use it which is less than one inch of material. I even used it to do dados in ¾ inch plywood.
The only thing that I wish they had was a 60 or 80 inch track. When you joint two 24 inch track it is very hard, and time consuming to actually makes the 100% straight.
I paid $99.95 on sale for the whole kit and I can recommend the value of it.
On sale for $99.99 plus shipping for saw and 2 tracks was worth a shot. But poorly made and doesn't work well upon delivery. Great compact size, but the saw rocks in the track, and doesn't give 90 degree cuts- (see utube videos). There are a couple of things that can be done: 1- purchase new green top strips for extreme left side of track to prevent rocking- ( can also use the longer 55" top plastic strips from full size track saw for the 48" joined tracks of mini track saw; 2- purchase bottom rubber strips from full size track saw to replace smaller joined bottom rubber strips on mini tracks (assume you join 2 of the 24" mini tracks for general use), 3- discover that you can buy additional carbon tipped wood blades off of the parts list ($9.25 each), and not have to pay for a 4 blade pack as described in sales literature.
