These Roman Carbide® Forstner Bits are some of the nicest Forstner bits available! Micro-grain carbide cross tips and center cutters stay sharper longer, for years of dependable service when drilling hard and soft woods, face grain, end grain, and figured grain. Carbide cross-tips and center-cutters also provide smoother, chatter-free, and faster cutting results. Hex shanks guarantee no slipping, unlike round shanks, which result in scarring and diminished accuracy. Hex shanks fit 3/8" drill chucks.

Superior Hole-drilling 11/16/2018

The carbide blades are far superior to the plain brass blades. The hole is clean with minimal blow out. Another plus is the longevity of the bit. You'll own it for a long time.

I do a lot of work involving dowells as axles or train car connectors or whatever a toy might need. Normal Forstner bit sets in carbide don't have the 5/16' size so you have to fill in by buying it separately. Almost is a "must have." Good product for the price and the uses!

Great value. Filling in intermediate (1/16") sizes. 8/25/2017

Nice and sharp and dimensionally accurate.

Been buying the Roman Carbide forstner bits one at a time and I have all the sizes from 1/4" to 3/4" with this bit filling in the 1/16" size.

The bits barely get warm even drilling HARD hardwoods such as lignum vitae, ebony, purpleheart and jatoba.
