Before I bought it I was determined to live with the windage cable. I made it almost a whole day before I removed it. I ordered a 2.5 carb stud kit (I recommend a 2 stud kit the 2.5 sticks out pretty far, I ended up cutting it down. You might even be able to get away with a 1.75 stud kit, but I didnt measure it). I still need to drill and tap the stop bolt hole to complete the left-hand conversion, but I need to visit my buddy with a drill press for that. If they drilled and tapped the top plate for both left and right hand, threw a carb stud in the box, AND charged an extra $20 it would be 5 stars all day long. After the cable/knob swap it blows all the Caldwells out of the water. After the mod the windage is extremely precise with no backlash and the quick elevation adjustment a awesome to have. If you are not going to swap the cable out for a carb stud, save your money and get a non-windage rest, the cable really is unusable, even for casual, backyard sighting in.
