Get the best of both contractor style and cabinet style table saws with this Polar Bear Series™ Hybrid Table Saw. You get the easy to transport weight and size of a high-end contractor saw, but with the dust control and full features of a cabinet saw. Just like our other table saws, this hybrid also has a quick-change blade guard, but with anti-kickback pawls that can be positioned away from the workpiece. The interchangeable riving knife offers protection for operations that require you to remove the blade guard, such as with "non-through" cutting operations. This is a saw that will be the envy in any shop. Also features a serpentine belt/pulley system for quiet operation and more efficient power transfer.

Love it with some exceptions 09/02/2019 7:08:38 PM

I have used the Saw for the last 4 weekends. So far I built 1 hanging pine book shelf, a dedicated miter saw station and at the moment building as 72" walnut bookcase.

The bad that totals to 1 star ding,
First let me say, I wish they sold it in 120v version or have a service where they rewire it for you. The instructions where fine and I did it, but I never done it before and was worried.
If it matters to you, the saw has absolutely no space to store accessories on it like other saws, but that is not a deal breaker for me.
The power cord is short, maybe 4ft?. After learning how to rewire the power cord end, I decided to make my own extension cord, which I did by buying supplies at Home Depot.
The fence was way out of alignment, but after spending some time I got it just right. This also allowed me to learn every adjustment option in the fence, which there are 3 sets of parallel adjustments and 1 on the far end of the fence for height.

The Good,

The Blade was dead on out of the box. I did not need to mess with the trunnions.
Everything turns smoothly
The fence glides smoothly (after it is aligned well)
Iron top and wings were flat
Wings were hard to align by my self, but after my wife helped me, we got them aligned.
It is a simple and clean design on the outside.
Dust collection is not bad, but I have no experience with cabinet saws. Under the throat plate is a shoot that connects to a hose (included). The dust falls down the shoot into the hose and the hose connects to a coupling that sticks out the bottom side of the cabinet where you attach an extractor to. Not all dust goes down the shoot. Some dust covers the motor and gears. Plenty of it falls down to the bottom of the cabinet/floor. It's fine by me, I just stick a shopvac hose in there and suck it up. I should say, I don't have an extractor and I have nothing hooked up to the saw at the moment. So I am assuming it will work as intended if hose attachments are not ignored, like I do.
The saw is surprisingly quiet.
The right side rails have room for a router table
Because of my last saw, I am paranoid that my fence will go out of alignment so I check it before every cut...so far it has not got out of alignment even once.

The saw is quiet, plenty of power, everything is leveled and flat, it is big enough, the fence is great and room for a router table.

Very satisfied 09/01/2019 5:01:54 PM

This saw has an inside blade shroud not mentioned in the sales literature. Usually only available on more expensive saws. I was delighted to find it. Everything went together easily, though the extension wings were very fussy to get lined up flat to the table. The riving knife and guard are very well constructed and I found quality everywhere.
If theres one thing Id change, the table inserts are very thin. I think having them match normal 1/4 or 1/2 plywood thickness would be easy and a plus

Excellent, high quality, heavy duty table saw. 08/16/2019 4:19:15 PM

I had a Delta UniSaw in the 1980s and 90s and a Delta contractor's saw from 1991 to 2017. They were good tools for that era. I recently had a Ryobi 3100 contractors saw and it was a neat design, but too small, fiddly with set ups and just would not stay squared up. The G0833P is more than I need for my small shop, but I wanted a saw that could handle anything I planned to build. I am a luthier and wanted to make all my own forms, benders, jigs etc. This saw makes that work a joy. The dust collection is 95%. The fence is convertible. It has a solid cast iron top and wings. I have 230V, so it's a powerhouse. I'm all set.

Good Saw, but throw away the miter gauge and buy a good one 08/11/2019 2:35:55 AM

I purchased this saw new last year. Assembly wasn't horribly difficult, but did take some time. I've put everything through it up to 6/4 white oak and it ate everything up. The only complaint is I just recently had the need to make very accurate 45 degree cuts with the miter gauge for a large picture frame and the miter gauge wasn't even close to being on. After many test cuts and a few pieces of duct tape in the right place and it's so-so. Other than that, it's been a good workhorse so far.

Love this saw so far 08/10/2019 4:26:53 PM

I work in a 1 car garage and I had a decent table saw that was very mobile. I was looking for a beefier saw with improved dust collection. The footprint of the saw is what I was most concerned about. It's the first 220v machine I have purchased and I had to have a circuit added to the garage. This saw fit the bill in all respects. The overarm dust collection works like a champ and the dust shroud around the saw blade is impressive rather the dust accumulating inside the saw and then into a chute. My only issue with the dust collection is the width of the shroud around the saw blade, It is a pretty tight fit to get the blade past the shroud and on to the arbor. making blade changes just a tad aggravating but really no big deal. Took a little getting used to the shorter height of this saw compare to my last but I' liking the ability to get more leverage on top of the workpiece. The only other issue I had was the length of the power cord - pretty short in my opinion. I replaced the cord wth a longer one and I'm all set. This is a great table saw for the weekend warrior and was more than I expected for the price, The added benefit with having 220 put in is I can now convert my other grizzly tools to 220 now.

Lots of value 07/19/2019 3:15:39 AM

The saw just arrived today. For a hybrid saw it's more like a full cabinet table saw, only with a 2 HP motor instead of a 3 HP motor. It is extremely well engineered - sturdy cast iron trunions and spindle, TEFC motor, tables ground flat and smooth, a very nice two-position "T" fence, a very nice start/stop switch positionable along the front rail, and so forth. UPS was the freight carrier and they really banged hell out of the box, even having to place it on a heavier duty pallet. I noted this on the carrier's form and he asked me to open the box up for a quick visual inspection. Packaging was sufficiently good to have protected the saw - not even a scratch on the paint.

I degreased the saw on the protected surfaces. The table top had a vapor rust inhibitor paper covering it. There was no hint of rust or discoloration anywhere on the machine, surface ground tables included. I sprayed everything down with Boeshield T-9, one of the recommended rust inhibitors. Developed by Boeing to prevent corrosion in tight, inaccessible places, it is a superior rust preventative and is none greasy after it dries. It protects all of my machinery.

I got the saw assembled in about an hour and a half. It was pretty straightforward, I probably could have figured it out without the excellent instruction manual, but I glanced at it as I was going along to make sure I got the correct fasteners for each job. After assembly I decided to check out how well the saw was "tuned" and was just floored with the accuracy. The blade (a used 10" carbide blade) had only 0.002" runout - some of that may have been the blade's fault, but anything under 0.005" is perfectly acceptable. The blade was parallel to the miter slot at 0.000" - no movement of the dial indicator. The blade was perpendicular to the table top so that a 0.001" feeler gage would not slide between machinist's square and blade. Likewise the miter gage was perpendicular to the blade with zero tolerance - the 0.001" feeler gage could not be slid between blade and face of miter gage. I have not checked the fence, but it is fully adjustable and I will probably adjust it with 0.010" clearance at the back of the blade to help preclude burning on cut edges and, more importantly, kickbacks.

The saw is a bit of a beast at 428 lbs. shipped weight, but I bought the Shop Fox wheeled platform to move it around. I unloaded as much as I could from the saw, the side tables, and all the packaging that was in the interior of the cabinet. I'm guessing all that stuff weighed about 100 lbs. I laid a 4x4 on the ground perpendicular to the saw top and then leaned the entire saw over on it's side, with the bottom still on the pallet and the cast iron table resting on the 4x4. I lifted up the bottom of the saw and slid a 2x4 under it to raise it off the platform. I had the Shop Fox platform pre-sized to fit the base and slid it onto the base in my desired orientation. I used a band strap to secure it to the bottom of the saw. I had a friend help me lift up the bottom of the saw and slide the pallet out from under it. We then went around to the top of the saw and easily uprighted it onto the wheeled platform. The instructions for the platform have a very complicated method of assembling the platform underneath the equipment using a crow bar and blocking to lift the bottom of the cabinet up. My way was much simpler, quicker, and with an extra hand, just as safe.

Obviously, these are just first thought as I have yet to use the saw, but it is extremely well engineered and the machining is top notch. The elevation and tilt controls work effortlessly, and the saw came pre-tuned to exceptionally tight tolerances. I see no reason why it won't turn out precision work. The saw represents a tremendous value. I've seen and used saws costing twice as much that weren't machined to the tolerances of this saw nor set up as well as this saw. I'm very happy with my purchase.

Everything I wanted at a great price 07/15/2019 7:05:13 PM

In my shop the table saw is the core tool. The G0833 is a solid core to build on. With a good Freud LU83 blade it cuts like silk. The 220V power makes the saw quick to start and get up to speed.

The dust collection is excellent and the side hose for over arm dust is handy for general cleanup. Unlike cabinet saws the bottom of the base is not closed. The dust collection goes directly to the under table blade shroud and does a good job of catching the sawdust at the source. Some dust does accumulate in the base, but this can be vacuumed out easily thru the side access door if needed.

The matching zero clearance insert is a must have safety accessory even though the saw comes with two inserts standard. One insert has a narrow (~3/8") slot for a standard blades, and the other has a wide slot insert (~1") for bevel and dado cutting. One wish is that the ZCI had the splitter / driving knife slot precut.

Due to the spring locking pin on the arbor shaft only one wrench is needed to change the blade. This also forces the blade to full height during changes automatically. Although the saw came with a carbide tipped blade, I upgraded the stock blade without even installing it. The motor runs quietly and start and stop is smooth. The G0833 passed the 'nickle test' with ease (it could probably pass a 'penny test'). Although not needed with my Freud thin kerf blade a blade stabilizer is included in the parts kit.

The blade elevation and bevel gears operate easily and smoothly over their full range of travel. Blade alignment to the miter gauge was perfect as were the 45 and 90 bevel setting stops. I used a Wixey angle cube to check the blade alignment and the readings were perfect 90s on both sides of the blade relative to the top.

The first saw delivered was refused as the carton looked like it had been dropped off a forklift. This was the carrier's fault. With one phone call the folx at Grizzly got a 2nd unit out to me that arrived in perfect shape. I had paid for liftgate service and it was worth every penny to get it placed in the garage. (I am differently abled and was dreading having to hump the saw up the sloping driveway.)

A helper is needed during the installation of the wings and rails but otherwise setup is a one man job. The saw was rough assembled in about four hours on one day with final assembly and alignment taking about the same amount of time the next day. All parts were present and accounted for. Removal of the saw from the pallet is not in the manual but is easy enough to figure out. All tools and Allen wrenches needed for setup were in the kit. Remember that this saw is metric.

The manual is excellent overall (a typo here & there) and includes safety tool templates, advice on shop made accessories, and a good discussion on techniques (unusual in most manuals) and different cuts. The hardware identification page alone is worth keeping and tacking up on the wall of the shop. The missing bit of advice is to wax the surface of the table and fence with Johnson's paste floor wax to protect the surface and to keep things gliding smoothly.

One modification I made to the saw was to replace the standard plug with a NEMA L6-20P twist lock power plug. I had run a new 20A / 220VAC breaker, 12-2 (w/ground) wire, and matching L6-20R outlet prior to delivery. Changing the plug easy and since the saw was 220V prewired no internal wiring needed modification.

I didn't use the miter gauge because I have an Incra M1000 already. Although I installed the rip fence an Incra TS-LS fence is on order. The factory fence is sturdy and glides smoothly and locks very rigidly. The fence was easy to install and align and the power switch and overhead dust collector mounts were predrilled. The fence is accurate enough but no match for the Incra. I didn't install the right side wing as I have an Incra router wing just waiting to be installed with a Milwaukee 3-1/2 hp monster router.

Overall this is a great saw for the advanced hobbyist or beginning pro especially given the price. You can't go wrong with Grizzly as the core of your shop. I'd buy it again in a heartbeat.

Exceeded expectations 07/03/2019 8:30:20 PM

It's certainly too early to properly rate and review a table saw, but I thought Id give my thoughts so far. I was not expecting such a large well built machine after reading some of the reviews. I was already kicking myself for not putting up the extra $400 or so for the 3hp model while I waited on delivery. I can honestly say either Grizzly listened to the deficiencies and corrected them, the negative reviews I read were bogus or its a random spontaneous problem few customers go through. Nothing I read was true for my delivery. It arrived well packed with no issues. Its basically g the same size and weight as a regular table saw. Im at a loss as to how its considered a hybrid. There was not one poorly designed or manufactured part from what I saw. Everything went together as expected without much effort or any modifications. Im glad I chose this model over the cheaper version. I couldnt stand the thought of having aluminum rails and that was my one reason for going with this one. The motor is quite powerful for a 2 hp. That was really a compkete surprise. It just moves through anything I can throw at it sometimes without me realizing its finished the cut. I thought it would be nice to have a lighter saw in case I ever needed to move it but that is not the case any more. Its now in the spot it will live for good. Its really a big heavy monster of a saw and I cant see myself ever needing anything bigger. The one issue (maybe 2 issues) I had that isnt much of an issue as it doesnt effect anything for now was the mitre slots were not machined. They were rough and in some areas sharp. Maybe this is by design. Its no problem after filing just so I didnt cut myself. There was also a discoloration on the main table about 2" in diameter. I havent tried any harsh chemicals to remove it and Im not sure what it is but it isnt really a problem. It may come off with some work. Thats really it as far as negatives if you can call them that. My advice if you are considering this saw; look at the dates of the reviews. If you see a negative one and its old then Grizzly may have already taken care of those issues. If in doubt simply call and ask about your concerns but my experience was nothing short of perfect. Sorry for the novel but I figure if you plan to put $1100 down you wont mind reading a review that covers it all (so far). If theres anythibg more to add I will edit this with the changes.

TL;DR = This really is the way to go if you want to step up a ways from a contractor saw for not much more money. This while calling itself a hybrid to me feels and looks like a full size cabinet saw. I see no difference except price.

I purchased this saw as an upgrade to a little contractor saw that I was using. I could not be happier or recommend this saw enough. It took only a couple of hours to assemble and dial it in making all the necessary adjustments. It was very close right out of the box, I did not have to shim the table wings (to my surprise and delight), they were dead flat out of the box. Minor adjustments to the angle stops and blade parallel and all is good. I set it on top of a Bear Crawl "Cub" mobile base for mobility, and yes it really does pass the standing nickel test. I know that there are often lots of issues with shipping of Grizzly equipment, fortunately I had none of those. Everything was delivered in perfect condition, no missing or damaged parts, and it arrived when it was supposed to. I performed a lot of research before purchasing this saw, and in my opinion this is by far the most saw that you can purchase for the price. Quality and performance is top notch, and grizzly customer service is second to none. I am a retired hobbyist and I use this saw every week, it is quiet, powerful, and accurate, I love every time I turn it on.

Great Value! Amazing dust collection! 04/19/2019 6:34:13 PM

Overall I love this saw, but I personally might not buy it again and go for the G1023. I bought this because of the ability to use it on a 120v circuit, but in the end I ended up running a 240v line to power this saw so I could have gone bigger. 2 HP is more then enough for sheet goods, but it does slow down some when I go through 4/4 hardwoods. On the other hand, this is the only saw that came with overhead dust collection and it's amazing! As long as I'm not shaving off the edge of a board, it collects >90% of the dust (hooked up to a 2HP HF DC and a SDD). Compared to my old Hitachi jobsite saw, this is lightyears ahead.

As to be expected, the boxes off of the UPS truck saw better days. The fence boxes were completely destroyed, but the side rails ended up being perfectly fine. The fence had a .003" bow in it, which was acceptable for me. As someone else mentioned, one of the wings was not dead flat and one edge was lifted up by .005". Again, it was acceptable and I used it on the left wing. After assembling the table saw, to my surprise everything was square (blade to the miter slots and fence to the blade).

There are only 3 downsides to this table saw. First, they put the wrong label for the angle gauge on my saw, being way too small. So small that 0 aligns up to 7 degrees and 45 comes out to 30 degrees. It's rather funny, and not a big deal as I always use my digital angle gauge. The second is the blade guard makes me weary. Each side rises up independently so any cutoff 1/4" or small jams between the blade guard and saw blade, setting up a chance for kick back. If the two sides moved together, there would be less of a risk for this and I might connect them together. Also the anti-kick back paws tend to mar up the surface of the material, needing to be sanded off. Lastly, the included saw blade is trash, you must upgrade this or expect to deal with a ton of tearout.

Overall, I'm very happy with this saw. The design works very well and the dust collection is superb.

Great saw! 04/05/2019 2:20:23 PM

This is a big step up from my Ridgid contractor saw: no more having to double check fence alignment for every cut. Set up was straight forward. Only issue was one of the extension wings wasnt dead flat. I put it on the left side. I didnt want to deal with having to ship it back and wait for a new one. Is there an ETA on when the cast iron router table extension will be available? The site has been saying more coming soon for over a month now. Once I get that, Ill move the dead flat wing to the left and put the router extension on the right side. Overall, very pleased and would recommend this saw as accurate and capable of cutting anything I put through it.

Excellent saw, great experience! 03/09/2019 2:50:53 PM

This is my first purchase from Grizzly, and the experience has made me a fan. From start to finish, this has been a textbook experience of how a tool purchase should be. Friendly and helpful customer service, the saw shipped fast and arrived without a scratch and with all the parts, very little adjustment needed out of the box! Runs and cuts beautifully. And all this for what I feel is a very reasonable price. Grizzly will definitely be getting more of my business in the future!

I like everything except. . . 02/18/2019 1:29:23 PM

I've had the saw for a month and love it all--except for the fence. There must be 12 different parts to adjust, and I still haven't gotten it reliably square. Why not make a fence that is easy to adjust? The rest of the saw is as close to perfect as I could hope and better than I deserve. I just wish I could get the fence figured out.

Great Saw, solid construction. 02/11/2019 1:42:13 PM

It's been awesome so far, very happy with overall features, not too hard to assemble and get everything aligned. The taper on the 4" dust port fitting made it hard to attach my collection hose, but that's a minor thing. Overall, awesome table saw, great value.

Love the design of this table saw! 01/01/2019 2:34:04 PM

I love the design of this table saw. I really like how smooth the hand wheels raise and tilt the blade. The riving knife is quick and simple to remove and replace without any tools. I was especially surprised that the saw came from Grizzly already trued up. The blade and miter slots were within .0005 inch of being perfectly parallel! After setting the table saw up, the only thing I had to adjust was the squareness of the fence. However, aligning the fence was a super simple process. The miter gauge has a really nice feature where you can adjust the fit in the slot to take up any slop. A pair of grub screws can be turned to slightly increase the 3/4" width of the bar that slides in the slot. This is a lot better than peening the bar with a center punch! Finally, the cast iron top and both extension wings were ground dead flat and look really nice. The design and usability features of the G0833P make this table saw a joy to operate and it looks great in the shop too!

Very happy with this purchase 12/28/2018 7:54:12 PM

I have had this saw for over a year now and have used it quite a bit. I am very happy with the saw and find it is a joy to use. I do a few hours of woodworking per week if I'm lucky so certainly not a pro, but really not sure what more I could want from a table saw. The dust collection is good, the power has been more than enough, and everything has come out dead accurate. I will say that in a year I have never flipped the fence to use the short side - it just never seems worth the small workflow interruption and loss of measure tape functionality. Maybe one day it will prove itself useful. Anyway, I expect to use this saw for the next 30 years, whereas most of my other tools I regularly dream about upgrading.

I researched tablesaws for a while and with it on Black Friday sale was the best value for me. Only problem I have is your shipping cost are high even on little things like a 20 dollar part costs you 10 dollars in shipping. Maybe you can think about a moble tent sale and bring them to other parts of the U.S. so the east coast can enjoy them also. Other than that this is my second purchase and love both of them.

Good saw for the money 12/14/2018 1:30:28 PM

I picked this up a couple weeks ago. Out of the box fit and finish was good. Fence was dead on parallel to the table. Blade was only .002 out of parallel to the to the mitre gauge slots. Only tricky part was the fence sliders and tryin to get those set right. Good saw for the money, deffinitely worth it

Excellent product 11/30/2018 2:04:30 PM

I have been following up on this table saw for about a two months now and reading reviews on many other saws on the market. It was no brainer that this was the saw for my shop. Customer Service... Makes the difference for me 11/16/2018 12:11:32 AM

Bought saw back in July, but new shop was not finished so I just got to setting it up. I can't speak on the cutting ability, YET, but I will return for that part. I'm here to say that once again, I received my saw missing ALL hardware except screws for the side wings. A call to Grizzly was placed. They promised a return call within a day or two with some resolution as I had called fairly late at night. I got the call this afternoon that they were actually out of the pre-made bags of hardware, but went into the owners manual and assembled a complete set of hardware for me. Shipped out today. My point is this: for the prices they charge, the equipment is stellar. But along with the very good quality tools, they employ some very nice people who always go above and beyond for me. I have seen some complain about service, but having worked as a customer-facing engineer my whole life, I know some folks are just impossible to please. I buy Grizzly because the service rocks. I'm also a loyal Woodpeckers customer for the same reason with all my routing needs.

Couldn't ask for more 11/06/2018 6:51:24 AM

This table saw is a very good investment. Cuts like butter and is well made. Setup is very easy even though there is room for improvement when it comes to the instructions. Wish the shipping was as good as the product. Boxes came damaged. Luckily there was no damage to the equipment. However, they did manage to loose most of the hardware, but Grizzly took care of that really fast. Plan on buying more products from grizzly in the near future.

I have had the saw for 6 weeks. It was easy to assemble and manual was very easy to use. 07/13/2018 1:44:21 PM

Once the saw was assembled, most of the adjustments were very close. Going through the manual and making all the fine adjustments to tweet the saw in was very easy. The saw works extremely well. I was concerned that the two horsepower maybe not enough to use a dado blade but I found this to be totally inaccurate there is more power than needed for most applications. The only defect with the saw was the t-square sliding bar that goes into the table was cracked. I've emailed Grizzly with pictures of this and I'm waiting to hear back from them on a replacement.

Amazing saw for the price. 07/08/2018 1:50:07 PM

I have to say this saw is amazing. I absolutely cannot believe I waited so long to purchase it. It was very simple to assemble.(by myself). It cuts effortlessly the table and blade were true and didnt have any issues with leveling the table. I upgraded from a Bosch contractor saw (which is really good) tho this Grizzly and couldnt be happier. I HIGHLY recommend this saw to anyone.

Hybrid Saw Review 05/17/2018 4:26:50 PM

Great so far.
The only item that I think is a bit off is the lock knobs. They don't positively lock the blade height or angle. It hasn't caused any problem yet but I imagine it could. The adjustment wheel will turn when you are locking the knob if you don't hold it from turning and you can still turn the adjustment wheel even if the lock knob is tightened as much as possible. I can see if you were going to lock the blade height in after making a micro-adjustment and forgetting to hold the adjustment wheel.

Great saw and customer service 05/10/2018 12:20:09 AM

When I was cleaning the packing oil off of the extension wings i noticed a crack along the finished edge, called customer service and they said they would send a replacement out. However, they are on back order until June and asked me to call back the next day to talk with a tech. Tech did say I could use the wing until then and they also informed me the new extension would be at my home in less then one week and it was. As for the saw it works great for the work I do lot less dust in the shop with vacuum attachment above the blade. Will be buying more products from this company.

Great tablesaw! 05/02/2018 2:07:00 PM

I bought this saw to replace a 15 amp contractors saw that I had used for several years. The difference is night and day. Saw was delivered on time and was well packaged. All the pieces were there. When I set it up the table to blade was only .002" off-good enough for me. Assembled the saw by myself, was a little tricky but only took a couple hours to get it together. I also got the Bear Crawler mobile base for the saw, works like a charm. Rolls around my shop easily and locks down nice. Mounted my Bosch router table to the saw, only had to enlarge two holes on the table to get it to fit. In all I am very happy with this machine! Cuts through red oak like butter.

Very solid saw however 05/02/2018 1:56:51 PM

The order shipped in a reasonable amount of time and the driver was very helpful in getting the product to the shop. The saw was easy to put together with two persons the

The concern I have with the order was that most of the items that require adjustment on the table saw were considerably out of adjustment. This includes the angle stops on the blade the angle indicator, and the table top. Nothing was even close to within adjustment.

I have not had a chance to use the saw yet maybe this weekend.

04/06/2018 5:36:42 PM

Several years ago I purchased and used a Grizzly 1023 cabinet saw while living in Texas and it worked well. Having sold it and moved I decided the G0833P unit was correct for me at this time and ordered it. It arrived on it's right side, not standing on the Grizzly shipping pallet. I was concerned about the shaft that adjusts blade tilt as it punched a hole in the container.I have assembled the saw and fortunately found that everything works well. I was also concerned that the table might have been knocked out of adjustment. It was not and the saw cuts smoothly and without vibration.I mounted the saw on the heavy duty mobile base and am surprised at how well the blade cuts smoothly and evenly. The fit and finish is excellent and the hardware packs were complete and exactly correct. An improvement in the instructions could be made by discussing the appropriate height to install and adjust the front rail as this cannot be determined until the bar and the fence are added to the assembly. Some discussion ahead of time might save some extra loosening and readjusting of the bolts. It was a small adventure but worked out just fine. In reporting my concerns about possible damage before unpacking and inspecting the saw, I found the folks at Grizzly very cooperative and "willing to make things right" should that have become necessary. Good job, Grizzly folks, and many thanks for providing a quality unit at a reasonable cost.

G0833P 4 month review 03/25/2018 10:59:53 PM

I bought this saw in November 2017 during Grizzly's Black Friday sale. Pros, The saw has good power, a nicely machined cast iron top and wings and very smooth adjustments for blade height and tilt. Cons, the blade guard dust collection is weak, the riving knife is thick and requires the use of a full kerf blade, wasting wood and creating more dust, the saw comes with 2 blade inserts but they are stamped steel like you get on a $99.00 portable saw and are not flat, but the most trouble I've had is the fence. I've adjusted it exactly as the manual directs and it still drifts! The cam lever is a rough casting instead of a machined cam. After a 3 month wait I received another cheaply made lever. I recommend anyone looking at this saw to consider the price of a new fence before buying this model.

Could’ve been a great saw for the price... 03/25/2018 2:52:04 AM

I bought this almost a month ago and have been working with customer service for a couple of weeks. Now I understand that this saw isnt a Sawstop, Powermatic or a Unisaw so I didnt expect for everything to be perfect. Which it isnt and I dont mind except for one major flaw. The rear of the blade kicks back 0.009 when lowering the blade. If anyones familiar with the Ridgid R4512 trunnion issue, this is the same thing. After some troubleshooting and some strange band aid fix from Grizzly I was told that 0.009 shift is within tolerance with this type of saw... 9 thou is not that bad until you cut long pieces and the problem magnifies. I wish this info was in the spec sheet as I wouldve bought a different model or brand. Now I have to make sure everytime I cut that the blade has tension las if I was raising it if not my cuts will off. If I knew this I wouldve stucked with my R4512.

Great product that didn't have all the parts. 5 stars for the table saw. 1star for QA 03/14/2018 7:43:22 AM

I've had this saw for over 2 months and it was love at first sight. The saw works perfect. Aside from the love of this saw there is a problem that you need to consider before buying one. Mine was missing parts.More specifically the bolts, washers, and nuts to the fence slide rails. I contacted sales and support asking them to please sent them right away. In response they asked me to go thru the parts list and type out a list of part numbers and qty. I said, " that is your job not mine. I paid for a complete table saw. You go thru the parts manual and figure it out. It's all the nuts and bolts to the slide rails for the table saw fence". I ended up going to home depot and picking up the hardware ( $30 ) . Three weeks later the hardware was shipped. Missing some of the bolts. I couldn't believe it. According to the invoice the bolts were on back ordered. Now, we are 2 months into this and I haven't seen the back ordered parts. I was going to order a band saw and planner thru them but this was way to much BS. Again, I love my new table saw but the people that are running Grizzly I hope you get bit by a zombie. BTW, I already submitted my review to Amazon but used words like, " you suck " and " horrible " and " you suck".

A substantial and accurate table saw for any skill level. 03/08/2018 4:41:06 PM

The first thing that struck me about this saw is the rock solid weight. Its not something youll be taking up and down stairs. I did purchase the Brar Crawl mobile base so its very easy to move around the shop. The cast iron top is dead flat and adjustment of the fence is quick and accurate and a wonderful relief from the contractors saw I have dealt with for a few years. I chose not to change the wiring to 110V and kept the 220V wiring in place. The saw cuts through a 4X4 post without slowing at all. Raising, lowering and tilting the blade is very precise and easy with the large diameter wheels. The top of my to do list is adding a router table extension. I wonder if Grizzly offers that!

Very nice saw! 02/26/2018 5:48:08 PM

After much debate and research, I settled on this saw. I believe I made a good decision. This a very solid saw with many great features such as the paddle shutoff switch, the riving knife and hefty construction which leads to being very stable. I like the dust collection in the blade guard although the hose is a bit cumbersome. All the adjustment wheels and their actions are solid and smooth. I love the Easy Glide fence, but I have one little glitch with it. When I press down the cam lock lever, the opposite end of the fence actually moves toward the blade about 1/16 of an inch. I am hoping I can adjust this out, but so far, I haven't been able to. This may just be a characteristic of this style of fence, but I'm not sure. Don't get me wrong, this is one solid fence and and is as straight as an arrow, not to mention but I will anyhow, that it weighs about 30 #s. That is hefty! I did buy a Freud Diablo 50 tooth Combo blade and will install it very soon. I really like the saw and am hoping it lasts the rest of my days................

** Update** Could be great? Maybe? Yes! 02/19/2018 7:22:51 PM

I bought the 10" Hybrid Table Saw (G0833P) 9/29/2017 and it was delivered SUPER fast, I live in Dallas, TX and it was here in 3 days once shipped, crazy fast for something that had to come on a lift gate truck. Overall the fit and finish is good, there are a couple areas that are maybe a little off, it seems at though the table wings are not 100% flat but close enough for hobbyist needs, and it is possible I can work with it some more to get the tables to be completely seam free. After a couple times of using the saw I started to trip the tables 240v breaker. It would attempt to start and seemed as though the motor would start to spin, but possibly vibrate or labor then trip the circuit. This is to say the saw seemed to have some issues at times starting, while other times it would start just fine. I called in to technical support 10/30/2017 and Bob was very helpful, we went through the symptoms and he ordered me a new breaker because I noted the button seemed to be a little loose when resetting it. Also because I noted what sounded or felt like vibration or hesitation he put a new start capacitor on order to make sure this was not the issue. Unfortunately I was told these parts are on back order (ended up being about 7 weeks or so to get them)...

** Update ** I received the parts after a special rush was put on and with the help of the support team I was able to get them installed. Sadly this did not fix the issue.

Next I talked to another great support tech that ran me through a couple other things to see if there were issues with the on/off switch, unfortunately that too was not the issue. After another conversation, with tech support they decided that it was likely a bad motor or winding in the motor so they ordered me a new motor, and while this was on back order, it was only a few days to get it once put in queue.

Once I received the motor I popped it out, verified the wiring and had it in the table for a test. Thus far I have not had a ton of time to work in the shop, but the couple dozen times I have started the saw, at 90 degrees and various other positions and heights have netted me a saw that whirs up immediately!!!

While I had an initial disappointment that I was not able to make use of the saw, and it took a bit longer to get it going than I would have liked (based on back order timing), the Grizzly team was FANTASTIC to work with and has me well taken care of.

The only downside to this if I had to give one beyond the wait time, I was waiting to purchase a new jointer but wanted to hold until I knew I had a working table saw as this was my first purchase through Grizzly. During the time it took to get everything working (3ish months) they repriced their catalog and I will now end up either having to buy a lesser jointer, or pay $100 more than previously. I was not comfortable enough to buy a second piece of machinery while I had not successfully got the first piece running, so in end the gift certificate my wife bought me for Christmas will be a wash with the price increase, this is the reason I did not 5 star the overall rating.

Good saw for the money 02/13/2018 5:06:40 PM

My G0833P order was finally completed in about 4 weeks due to the shipping company losing one of three boxes. Not a Grizzly issue at all.
I had to dismantle the saw in order to move it (by myself) from the garage to my basement workshop. Please note, it is a big mistake to remove the top as it has been adjusted and shimmed at the factory. When I removed the top a shim fell out and it was by trial and error that I found which corner it belonged on. This setting is critical when setting up the adjustment for 45 degree cuts. Note too that the top is held on with just 4 bolts but that the front corners also have tiny Allen screws that need to be removed if taking the top off. The instruction manual is very good and explains clearly how to assemble or adjust everything.
Once reassembled, I check the arbor run-out and found it difficult to measure as there is no bare shoulder to put a dial gauge on. I basically measured it as best I could and found it to be out about .015. With the Grizzly supplied blade mounted the blade run-out was .007. With a better Freud blade I measured .004. Very acceptable. When I first turned the saw on the vibration was awful. Further inspection showed the washer under the arbor nut was off-center. Why would Grizzly put a large washer with a 15/16 arbor hole on a 5/8 arbor? I now know that the nut has a shoulder that fits into the washer to keep it centered. Its difficult to see and assemble them properly due to the limited space. Its not a great design. When properly installed, vibration is minimal.
I measured the miter slots to the blade and found them off due to my having removed the top. I loosened the 4 mounting bolts and squared up the top. Basically I got the slots within .003 of the blade.
The main dust collection outlet is 3 13/16 diameter, which means your 4 hose is not going to fit well. I cobbled together a metal adapter to couple the outlet to my dust collector. Collection is very good once when connected to my 1.5hp dust collector. It would be nice if the dust collector outlet could be moved the rear or left side to be closer to my dust collector. The over-arm dust collection works great but as usual the guard and hose gets in the way, so its been removed. Problem now is to find a way to plug the 1.5 diameter hose outlet to maintain efficiency.
Perhaps the worst feature of the saw is the sloppy fit of the blade insert. Short cut-offs easily fit down the throat and impact the dust collection plastic with a bang. At the time I ordered the saw a zero clearance insert was not available, but I see it is now. I tried to make an insert but it is virtually impossible to make one due to the shallow shoulders for the stock insert.
Installation and adjustment of the rip fence is pretty straightforward. I did not use the auxiliary aluminum rip fence but substituted a wood fence. Works fine. The 2hp motor has sufficient power for my needs. I ripped 2 thick red oak without a hint of bogging down. Overall, its a very good saw with minor annoyances. For the price, its an excellent value but youll need to spend time adjusting and setting it up to meet your needs.

A lot of saw for the money 02/05/2018 3:43:10 PM

Ive been woodworking as a hobby for about 10 years and It was finally time to purchase a saw I deserved. I did a lot of research and this checked all the boxes as well as the right price. Over the years my shop has slowly become Grizzly machine after Grizzly machine and they make amazing products. The dust collection works like a charm and that was one of my main reasons for purchasing this saw. If you want the cabinet saw without the high price tags and large motor this is the best on the market currently.

Went together easily with just myself, even though the instructions suggested use of another person. I did use fixtures as assists. Saw works great, love that it came wired for 220 Volt operation. GREAT HYBRID SAW!! 01/26/2018 5:54:21 PM

I just bought this saw within the past month.
Delivery was a breeze. The lift gate service was needed . But I was able to get all the boxes 3, to my shop with a dolly , 200 ft . Down my drive way.
Assembley was a breeze.. I put mine on The grizzly mobile base , it was easy to assemble and fit fine under the Saw cabinet. I do have a Gantry I built with a 1 ton chisn hoist which was need to lift it up to get the base under the cabinet.. you will definitely need two or three persons to help if u dont have such a lift!! LOL its hesvy! Even without the extension wings on..,

Only adjustments for setup that were needed was squaring the fence to the table.
Converted it to run on 115v. Also very easy!
Put on measurement tape.. first run was great its very quiet!!! Smooth.. made few cuts on some 1/2 birch plywood wow. So clean so accurate...
I did install a quality 80T carbide blade

Im impressed for the money its an awesome saw....

Highly recommend.... THANKS GRIZZY!
Goes great with my extreme 14 band saw ALSO GReat!!!!

I have been threatening to replace my table saw for, oh, 20 years or so. I just couldn't pull the trigger (or credit card) for a full cabinet saw, and I found problems with each hybrid as it came out. The new Grizzly met most of what I have been wanting, and catching it on the Thanksgiving sale made it an easy choice! Like all new machinery it has a few issues, but I feel certain that Grizzly will iron them out with time.

When my saw arrived via UPS Freight, the driver unloaded it and wheeled it into the garage. I was concerned about the hole in one side of the box, so we opened it while he was there; good thing, because the end of the motor had rubbed forcefully against something between China and me. The motor case was pushed in and up so hard that there were impressions from the cooling fan blades in the steel motor end cap. The top edge of the cap was folded/creased like tissue. YOW! I sent it back, called Grizzly, and had a new saw within a few days.

Assembly went smoothly. The miter gauge slots were dead parallel to the blade. It was easy to adjust the fence and miter gauge to (respectively) parallel and square to the gauge slots. Adjusting the 90- and 45- degree stops on the blade tilt went well, though the 45 is a bear to reach. The blade guard/riving knife mount was perfect too. Extension wings were co-planar with the table, no shimming required. Fence rails went on easily.

I like the lock for the riving knife/blade guard. It is an easy reach, and it is easy to operate. So too with the arbor lock when it comes time to change the blade... it sits just exactly where you want it to as you go to perform that operation.

I also bought a Forrest WoodWorker II blade for my new tool. My first cut on this saw was a rip of some scrap 3/4" plywood. I engaged the blade, took the front edge of the scrap back to the riving knife, and stopped.... just let the blade run in the kerf for about 20 seconds. I then finished the cut. Not a speck of a smidgen of a trace of a burn mark, nor any sign of a tooth track where I had left the workpiece engaged with the running blade. Amazing. I want to try this with some scrap cherry next... you know, the wood that burns if you look at it wrong!

It was during the initial tilt to 45 degrees that I discovered a design issue. The blade is surrounded by a dust collection shroud. In the right-hand corner of the throat opening, nearest the operator, is a projection of the cast-iron top which holds a set screw for leveling the insert. In that same area, the dust collection shroud has a spring-loaded panel designed to keep the shroud around the blade even when it is tilted. On my saw, when the blade is set to 90 degrees, that little hinged panel is able to open up UNDER the lug holding the set screw. That is fine until you go to tilt... and the hinged panel remains hung up under the lug, and the dust shroud then prevents more than about 5 degrees of tilt.

The fix is easy... a) remember to pull the throat plate before tilting and push the little hinged door over as you crank the first 10 degrees, or b) epoxy a little block under the lug that prevents the hinged part from moving quite so far under the lug. I haven't gotten to "b" yet, but I will!

Like many other reviewers, I, too, have noted that the set screws and knurled brass lock nuts that adjust the fence vertically sit high enough that they would block use of the miter slot if the fence were to be in exactly the wrong spot. I have tried, and failed, to imagine myself using both the fence and the miter gauge, both on the right side of the blade, at the same time. I just can't see this being much of a problem. I followed other's suggestions, and tried to mount the fence rail as low as possible, but there really isn't much play when all the screws are in.

Blade guard: Nice that it has dust collection for the dust thrown off the top and front of the blade. Nice that it has separate side panels so you are protected on narrow rips and short cut-offs. Not so nice that the dust collection hangs/runs just where you want to look to check the position of your pencil mark vs. the blade. Not sure how you would fix that one...

Speaking of dust collection, the outlet on the side of the saw, under the right extension wing, claims to be 4". It isn't. More like 3 3/4". I discovered, quite by mistake, that a fitting designed to fit 4" dust hose on one side, and to slip inside 4" PVC pipe on the other, is just exactly right! The I.D. of the PVC side matches the O.D. of the saw fitting perfectly! Good snug fit. I am getting very good, though not perfect, dust collection, even with my 650 CFM dust collector. I expect it to improve when I finish hooking up my more potent DC.

The early lack of a zero clearance insert seems to be under remedy. If the online catalog is to be believed, the throat plate from the prior model saw will also fit this one. Unfortunately, Grizzly keeps saying 'backordered'. There is another online source for this plate, a Hardware store in the Highland (hint, hint), but I haven't ordered yet. Ordinarily, I would just make my own, but since this thing is 1/8" thick, I suspect that a custom made out of phenolic plastic is the way to go.

Bottom line: this saw is more than enough to keep a home handyhack and wood butcher like me happy happy happy... time to go build that bed frame I have been promising the spouse for, oh, 20 years now!

Great experience and great saw (minus one design flaw) 01/23/2018 1:56:42 PM

Finally saved up enough for a hybrid saw. Everything came in great shape, not a single problem with shipping or arrival conditions. I had everything I needed for a smooth assembly. I had someone help me with the two table extensions. All told, it took me about 3 hours to fully assemble, clean and align. It does survive the nickel test. But there are 2 things, that drive me nuts. The riving knife came way out of alignment and I haven't been able to get it back in alignment for either the knife itself, or the guard assembly, but that may be more of user-error than anything.... And as far as I can tell, I am not sure it is going to be possible to make a zero-clearance insert for the table, and that seems like a design flaw to me. Otherwise, it is very well-built saw and I am happy with my purchase.

Very accurate saw. 01/17/2018 5:35:08 PM

I bought this saw about a month ago, and I am not disappointed at all. After getting the fence set up exactly the way I wanted it, it stays true, and is accurate. Ive never been able to use the tape on any saw before. Its perfect on this one. The motor is smooth and quiet. All I really hear is the blade whistling in the air. It also suits my needs as far as power goes. I just ripped a 2 1/2 thick board of Birdseye maple with ease. I was expecting a little trouble, but I have no complaints. I own a grizzly table saw, band saw, and jointer. All of which I would buy again.

So far, I am pleased with my saw. 01/16/2018 4:17:47 PM

The product arrived damage free. The delivery man was very helpful. Assembly was facilitated with the manual you sent. I ran into a couple of problems that I'll discuss later. Everything ( parts, fit and assembly ) were fine. Once the electrician was done I did a few test cuts with your blade. The results were OK. I got a Forrest 10" 40T Woodworker II blade and the results were fantastic ! This saw ( I believe ) will be a source of enjoyable wood working for many years.

I bought this saw in October. There was a dent in the fence, and Grizzly sent a new one right away. I wired the garage for 220v and absolutely love this saw. The alignment was true out of the box. Instructions were well laid out and easy to follow. I am glad I chose this model, for a home DIY guy it is just the ticket for building cabinet drawers, barn doors and other items on my remodel list. I am very happy with the value for the money I spent.

Too soon to tell. 01/12/2018 8:22:03 PM

Have not had a chance to use very much for having to correct issues. Dented motor fan cover, breaker on switch did not work, missing mounting screws for on off switch and now a vibration I cannot find. Wandering if I have a lemon. Will give updated review later.

Love everything about it except the blade guard. I cant see anything once the wood goes under it. In theory it makes sense especially the extra vacuum capability for dust control but it only lasted a day.

Other issue is I have 120v electrical outlets and the sales person told me the saw came with a conversion kit. It didnt. Cost me another $30 and a one week wait to use my new saw.

I do recommend it but buy the conversion kit at the same time Save yourself time and money
