Great Deal on a lifetime saw 10/01/2019 3:17:14 PM

Other than problems associated with shipping, I would certainly recommend this product.

    Great saw!!! 09/27/2019 12:03:16 PM

Ordered this saw b/c I wanted the ability to rip up larger pieces. Ive ripped down several pieces of popular and saw works great!! Assembly went together great with no problems. The only thing I would improve on is the quality of bolts and nuts required to assemble. They seem to be low quality.

This is a great saw!! 08/31/2019 2:01:54 AM

Got the saw last week, finished the assembly and settings last night, its a very impressive machine, not sure where they hide the blade that says its included, I still have to find that. If they were going to improve this saw I would recommend they include a higher quality package of hardware the screws and bolts they include are soft and lean toward the worthless quality, I mean really its not more than 10.00 dollars for an upgrade to higher quality hardware so they add 10.00 dollars to the price of the saw it would be worth it. I installed better hardware after the screw head rounded off on a couple of them.

    Fantastic! 08/21/2019 1:59:13 PM

After several years of struggling with a job site portable saw, I splurged on the G0651 10" 3 HP 220V HD Cabinet Saw.
I visited the Grizzly corporate offices and showroom - quite an amazing and large display - and made the purchase at the counter. Originally I planned to take the items with me in my pickup, but the crating - very heavy duty for container ship travel - weight and dimensions was just too prohibitive, so I opted for a UPS delivery. I also had to buy the tailgate service ($34) so the driver would actually take the items off their truck and move it to my garage.
The entire shipment arrived two days later, and was in my shop/garage by 9 AM. There was no damage on any of the packaging, not even a rub mark!
I immediately went to work unpacking and uncrating the items carefully, following the included instructions for assembly.
The assembly went quite well, with all parts fitting snugly , nothing bent, distorted, or damaged, in any way. No dings or scratches on any of the items.
I had prepared for the saw's arrival by defining the setup location, and although the 240 volt outlet wasn't nearby, I did purchase a specific extension cord until I can add a new outlet closer to the unit.
Frustration in set up was mostly about the weight of items, of which I did everything myself. Also, some of the machine screws and bolts were very difficult to get started while finding ways to support the item being attached. More specifically, the extension and outfeed tables were a bit of a bear to attach, but once on are strong and stable.
I was cutting test pieces by 8 pm, and almost couldn't sleep that night out of excitement!
I later purchased an a-line setup gauge to test the parallelism of the miter slots to the blade, and the parallel of the fence (huge, sturdy, and easy to adjust), and to my pleasant surprise, the miter slot to blade was toe out (back of blade to the left) by .001. The same was true for the fence, which was a near perfect .003 to the right - avoiding blade pinch as material passes the blade.
This has been a great experience! I must say the saw blade that came with it is still on the saw, even though I have a couple of higher end blades. I'm getting great cuts, very little burn, and near glue-line precise on hardwood rips.
This has been the best experience I've ever had in purchasing such a piece of equipment, and I expect the same for years to come!
    Thank you Grizzly!

    G0651 - Great saw with 1 suggested change... 07/03/2019 6:40:57 PM

Great saw. Relatively simple set up with pretty good documentation. The only change would suggest is for better, more durable material for the wing and out feed tables. The laminated, high density press board is isn't wearing well and it took 3 tries to a wing table shipped that didn't have a dented or split corner. I'll be building something more durable from maple or corian very soon. I hope Grizzly looks a this quality issue.

    Excellent value 06/29/2019 11:47:36 AM

Purchased a month ago. It replaced a delta hybrid saw and I could not be happier. This saw has plenty of power so far, but I have not cut any thick material. I have processed 12 sheets of plywood making cabinets. Much quieter than I expected. Smooth operation so far. I didnt have any issues with the set up of the machine. Packaged very well.

My only complaint so far is that the outfield table could be a bit wider and a bit longer. Processing full sheets alone, cut pieces teeter off the end.

This is my first but absolutely will not be my last Grizzly machine. I will be purchasing more.

Needed some adjusting 04/26/2019 7:20:17 PM

The base top was not square and so ripping material using the fence did not result in a straight cut. The stick on tape measure was 1/2 in off and I had to take off and replace. Grizzly did send me a new tape at no charge. All in all not major problems and I am happy I purchased the saw.

    04/16/2019 7:11:24 PM

Ive had this saw for almost one year. For the price, this saw has been an excellent value. I sold expensive Austrian equipment when I closed my business and moved, and didn't want to spend a fortune for power tools in my new shop. Other than some minor shipping damage and missing bolts/washers, this saw has been a fine piece of equipment. For the most part, all the surfaces are well machined and although the top isn't as flat as I would like, it is certainly good enough and not worth pursuing replacement parts. The fence is good and the motor is smooth, quiet and powerful.

I don't recall exactly what was in error, but there were a few instances where the instructions for assembly didn't match what was in front of me. But I have assembled numerous pieces of shop equipment before and was able to figure it all out and get the machine and outfield/side tables assembled.

Bottom line is, this saw cost less than one third of my previous European saw, and I had fewer problems assembling this Grizzly than I did with the expensive Austrian saw.

    Nice saw 04/07/2019 4:35:08 AM

Ive owned grizzly products in the past and have been pleased I purchased this cabinet saw a few weeks ago Although there were some quirks about the assembly, ie: missing washers and haveing to retap some threads on the table feet, Im not disappointed. Once truing things up, it has proven itself to be a most reliable piece of equipment. Well worth the money. Especially with all the included accessories. I would definitely recommend this unit.

    Excellent product 03/21/2019 3:45:15 PM

A great and quiet table saw. Arrived with minor manufacturing damage to the particleboard table tops. Assembly instructions are awkward and not efficient, expect to redo a few steps when leveling the tables. A few washers were missing, but Grizzly quickly sent replacements. I would buy it again.

Quick and accurate 09/07/2018 6:01:57 PM

I have had my eye on this saw for a long time. My first project involved bevels that were all very odd angles. The digital readout allowed me to reproduce the angles over and over to a 10th of a degree. Yes I could have done the same with my old saw but this was a lot quicker. I couldn't be happier.

I have used the saw several times now and it has been great for breaking down full sheets of plywood. The fence was easy to adjust and square. The power of the saw seems to be more than sufficient. I have not used the digital angle guide yet. So far I have been pleased with the purchase.

I would have given 5 stars, but the asembly harware included was missing some of the lock wahsers.

Solid upgrade - straightforward assembly & adjustment 05/30/2018 4:45:03 PM

We bought this as an upgrade to our Shopsmith 2000 and have been incredibly happy with it. Assembly took the better part of an afternoon, and fine adjustment took another hour or so to get it just right. All the instructions in the manual were clear and relatively straightforward.

Since assembly we have built a crosscut sled & several drawers for a bathroom vanity. We're definitely not putting it through it's paces yet, but we're very satisfied with this unit.

This was an upgrade from the small contractor saw that I had used for years. It is a pleasure to use, with the large table making cutting full sheets of plywood much easier. All of the controls work very smooth, and plenty of power for all of my needs. The only problems with set-up were that some washers were missing, but I had some that worked fine, so I was making sawdust fairly quickly.

I would and have recommended Grizzly to many people! I am over the top pleased that I purchased this item! I would also say, in shipping one of the out feed tables had some damage and I should be receiving the replacement part soon!
Once the damage was verified, which wasn't difficult, I was kept informed of the process of the its replacement.

Great saw, great customer service representative.

We will see 01/28/2018 12:03:50 AM

I have only had the saw for a month. I still haven't finished the fine tuning. It came well crated with zero damage. Though I would recommend they use a wood crate for the aluminum fence, that was the only box damaged. Set up was not hard. The only quality issues so far are. 1. The left side cast wing and center table do not bolt up flat. I had to shim the top of the joint with a couple strips of painters tape to keep the top flat wen the bolts are tight "pain in the butt". 2. The stick on scale on the rail is still 3/4" off after using all of the adjustment. 3. I had to cut 1/2" off the extension wing and outfeed table leg height adjustment feet, they are too long if your shop floor is level. This is my 5th grizzly machine and the first one I've had issues with.

Love the product, set-up not so much 05/24/2017 9:47:09 PM

I recently purchased this saw. Overall, I'm very impressed with the unit. There are a few items that occurred during setup that I think could have been either better explained in the manual or better engineered. The assembly bolts supplied are shorter than what is spelled out in the manual... they are long enough, but when you're trying to follow the instructions you start looking for a missing bag of bolts. Also, the adjustment feet for the wing tables are fairly long, and the threads on the posts bottom out in the tubes. If your floor is fairly level (mine is), you can't thread them in far enough to level the tables. I used some shorter bolts that I had on hand and all is well. The only other knock I have on the unit is the access door does not stay shut. The harder you crank down on the retention bolt, the more it wants to pop open.
The saw is a joy to use. I broke down some sheet goods by myself (usually I use my track saw for breaking down full sheets), and the outfeed table and extra wide wing worked out great. I'm happy with the unit, also bought a 17" band saw (waiting for time to wire it up) and an 8" jointer (back-ordered). Very pleased I chose Grizzly.

    GREAT PRODUCT 01/28/2017 9:28:22 PM

THE G0651 IS WHAT I EXPECTED IT TO BE . IAM VERY PLEASED. I WOULD RECOMMEND IT TO ANY WHO DOES A LOT OF WORK BY THEMSELVES,IT ENABLES ME TO WORK WIT SHEET GOODS WHEN NO ONE IS AROUND TO HELP

    Q & A

Common Questions and Answers about the G0651:

Q: How do the G0651 and G0652 saws compare to the other Grizzly 10" cabinet saws, such as the G1023RL series or the G0690-91?

A:The G0651/G0652 are our top-of-the-line "Extreme Series" 10" cabinet saws. They are made in Taiwan under strict quality-control standards to ensure premium fit-and-finish, smooth functionality of all moving parts, and an industrial-grade level of durability and accuracy. Other, more obvious features that make these saws unique are the included rear extension table, extension-table storage shelves, and a digital readout for the angle of blade tilt. Like the G1023RL series saws, the G0651-52 table saws are equipped with the same type of padlock compatible "lock out" mag switch, a poly-V belt drive system for smoother, quieter power transfer, and the underside of the blade is encapsulated with a dust hood for improved dust collection and reduced maintenance/cleaning inside the cabinet. Additionally, the fence system included with the G0651-52 saws is similar in function and design to the Shop Fox Classic Fence included with the G1023RL-series models, except it has aluminum fence faces and scale indicators that read on both sides of the fence, allowing easy fence use on either side of the blade.

Q: What is the difference between G0651 and G0652?

A:The G0651 has a 3 HP motor and is wired for a single-phase, 220V, 15A power supply circuit. The G0652 has a 5 HP motor and is wired for a 3-phase, 220V, 15A power supply circuit. Aside from these differences, the two models are identical.

Q: What is the difference between G0651-52 and G0605X1-06X1?

A:These four machines have the same overall design, but the G0651 and G0652 are designed for a 10" blade and the G0605X1 and G0606X are designed for a 12" blade. The 12" models have a bigger cabinet, cast-iron table, arbors, trunnions, and other internal components, giving them a slightly larger overall size. With the addition of the larger blade, the 12" saws have the ability to cut workpieces up to 4" thick--whereas the 10" models have a maximum cutting depth of 3-3/16". The fence rails, fence, and extension tables are the same size on all four models, giving the 10" saws the same maximum rip capacity (to the right of the blade) as the 12" saws. That said, the larger castings, arbor spindle, motor size, and cutting depth of the 12" saws make them a better choice in an industrial setting, because the added heft and power allow them to better withstand the rigors that a busy production shop can demand day-in and day-out.

Q: Can I install an H7507 extension wing router table on this saw?

A:Yes, however, the mounting holes on the H7507 don't line up to those on the saw, thus, requiring you to drill your own set of mounting holes in order to make it fit properly. If you're okay with doing this type of work to make it fit, we recommend getting the T10222 Router Table Extension, instead. Although it costs a little bit more money, the T10222 includes its own independent fence system, a starting pin, four miter slots, and an auxiliary support leg for increased stability.

    FAQ

    FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions):

Q: How do I know which size of motor I'll need for my table saw?

A:Assuming the correct blade is installed for any specific type of cut, the answer primarily depends on these three factors: (1) your average stock thickness, (2) your typical wood type or variety, and (3) your anticipated cutting frequency or overall demands placed on the saw. First, it is important to note that with a slow enough feed rate, any of our table saws can cut through a piece of hardwood up to that saw's maximum cutting height. Unfortunately, using too slow of a feed rate can result in burn marks in your workpiece, and using a feed rate that is so aggressive that it causes a motor to bog down will quickly increase the motor's internal temperature to a state of thermal breakdown. Once a motor reaches this state, continued operation (without allowing sufficient cool-down time between cuts) will result in the motor becoming so hot that its winding insulation will completely fail and the motor will die. A larger motor, however, could easily perform the exact same type of work without ever reaching a state of thermal breakdown. With that in mind, your goal should be to select a motor size that will handle the majority of what you'll be cutting on a regular basis, without bogging the motor down. To translate this into a more practical perspective, generally speaking, a 1.5 HP motor used with an aggressive feed rate can repeatedly cut 6/4 (1.5") soft woods and 4/4 (1") hardwoods without bogging down. A 3 HP motor, on the other hand, can repeatedly cut the same type of stock with the same type of feed rate at approximately twice that size without bogging down.

Q: What are the differences between contractor, hybrid, and cabinet saws?

A:A "Contractor" table saw is generally a light-duty saw with an open-stand and is usually equipped with a 1.5 HP to 2 HP motor that can be operated on a common 120V power supply, making it portable and convenient enough to take from jobsite to jobsite for carpentry work, trim work, and small cabinetry or furniture work. To keep the weight down, contractor saws often use sheet-metal wings instead of cast-iron wings, and their trunnions and other internal components use less cast iron or steel, making them much less beefy than those same components used in cabinet saws. A few other typical hallmarks of contractor saws are non-enclosed motors (making them slightly louder and sometimes resulting in a lack of dust collection) and trunnions mounted to the bottom of the table instead of the cabinet (making them slightly more difficult to align the blade to the miter slot or fence). The lighter-duty components used in their construction typically means that contractor saws also cost less than other saw types. The low cost, high portability, and convenience of operating on a 120V power supply, combined with included fence systems that often rival those used on cabinet saws, has historically made the contractor saw a favorite option for the hobbyist or beginning woodworker. A "Cabinet" table saw is a heavy-duty saw with an enclosed cabinet-style stand and usually a 3 HP or larger motor that operates on a 240V power supply, making it the top choice for professional woodworkers, serious amateurs, or production shops that require day-in and day-out reliability and the ability to regularly cut thick hardwoods. Unlike contractor saws, cabinet saws have much thicker castings for the trunnions and arbor assembly, which attach to the cabinet instead of the table (making blade alignment adjustments easier), and they usually have full cast-iron wings, which combined with the beefier trunnions and heavy cabinet stand, give them a lot more vibration-dampening weight. Additionally, the enclosed cabinet stands result in quieter operation and usually have much better dust collection. A "Hybrid" table saw is a newer category of saw that is considered to be a cross between a contractor saw and a cabinet saw. Like cabinet saws, hybrid saws typically have cabinets or stands with enclosed motors (providing quieter operation and easier dust collection) and trunnions that mount to the stand (making blade alignment adjustments easier). Like contractor saws, hybrids are generally constructed with lighter-duty components and materials (keeping costs and overall weight down), and they are usually equipped with 1.5 HP to 2 HP motors (allowing them to operate on a common 120V power supply). Because hybrid saws are often priced near contractor saws and they offer many of the additional benefits that cabinet saws provide over contractor saws, they are quickly becoming the saw of choice for the serious hobbyist or the professional woodworker on a budget.

Q: How do I know what type of blade I should buy?

A:Blade choice is determined by the type and purpose of cut, hardness and thickness of stock, and desired trade-offs between cutting speed versus cut quality. Generally speaking, a blade with fewer teeth cuts faster but makes a lower quality cut, and a blade with more teeth cuts slower but makes a higher quality cut. We offer a wide variety of blades from a handful of different manufacturers. All of our blades are clearly designated by either blade function, cut type, or material type.

Q: What is the purpose of the riving knife?

A:The riving knife is used for non-through cuts. It is a metal plate positioned in alignment behind the blade to prevent the newly-cut workpiece sides from pinching on or pushing against the backside of the blade and causing kickback. The riving knife also acts as a barrier behind the blade to reduce the risk of hands being pulled into the blade if they are positioned incorrectly when kickback occurs.

Q: Can I still use my table saw without connecting it to a dust collector?

A:Yes, but we don't recommend it. Without using a dust collector, the dust will quickly pile up inside and around your machine, resulting in additional cleaning time later. Besides making a mess, fine dust can be harmful to your respiratory system. A better choice is to connect your table saw to a properly-designed dust collection system that at least pulls the recommended minimum CFM for your saw's dust port.

Q: Can I cut metal or other non-wood materials with your table saws?

A:Although our table saws will physically cut many different types of materials, they are only designed to cut natural wood or wood-based materials (plywood, MDF, OSB, etc.). Cutting materials not intended to be cut on a woodworking table saw can result in serious injury to the operator or bystanders, and it could decrease the life of the saw and void the warranty.
