    Easy installation 08/26/2020 12:40:53 AM

Works great. You can reuse the t-slot plate by drilling and tapping it to M14X 1.5 if you dont have a mill. Sure saves time on too change. I purchased a couple more tool holders for convenience.

Quick change tool post! 07/31/2020 5:15:51 PM

I purchased this a couple of months ago, its taking me some time to get it setup on my old Atlis lathe. So far its working great! And you cant beat the price that Grizzly is selling this for.

Very happy with this tool post 03/22/2020 7:25:24 PM

This is a great accessory for my metal lathe. I looked around at a lot of options for a tool post, but ultimately decided to stay with Grizzly since I have Grizzly lathe.

Cheap, and works ok. 09/09/2019 12:40:30 AM

I bought this for my 11x26 Grizzly lathe. A little adapting, and it fits.
Wanted to buy extra holder. None listed, so I took a chance that the 100 series fit.
    Pretty much.
Found that one side of the tool post was a tighter fit for the tool holders than the others. Machining was uneven. The original tool holders fit both sides, but the extras I bought wouldn't fit both sides. A bit of work with a sharp file on the dovetails, and all the tool holders fit.
The top locking handle ends up in an odd place. (Basic bad design/not sorted out). Above the work being turned, and almost blocking the removal of the individual tool holders. Removed one of the rectangular pads, and saw a washer behind it. Removed the washer, and now the locking handle tightens away from the work.
Now I'm happier with it :-)
Wish they made an extended holder for to hang a cutting tool out a bit. Guess I'll have to make one.
You get what you pay for. A fraction of the cost of the high end pieces.
I'm not ranting, just making observations.

    Great product 08/26/2019 11:15:28 AM

I have not got a chance to use it yet, as the lathe I ordered has been on back order for two months, I hope to use it soon

    Wonderful product 05/03/2019 3:02:47 PM

I purchased this to install on a Hannifin J225 four in one built in the 1940s it mounted right up and works perfectly

Ok for the money 02/13/2019 2:24:46 AM

It is ok for what it costs. The dovetail is pretty sloppy. The locking handle and center post that holds it on the compound were locked together. I had to press it apart and turn the center post down to a smaller diameter so it would work right. Now I can tighten the holder onto the compound and work the tool holder knob too.

Poor handle orientation 12/19/2018 9:22:55 PM

Received the product in good condition, and modified it as needed to mount on my old South Bend 9". The only problem is that the locking handle is oriented facing away from the user and directly over the lathe bed. This makes it very awkward to change the tool, as well as placing the handle where it's likely to get wound up with chips (when they are the long birds-nest type). I thought it would be possible to dismantle the tool post and reorient the handle, but evidently not. I called tech support, and was told that's the way it's designed, and there is no way to change it. My only option is to drill and tap a new hole to attach the handle to the locking collar. I have never seen a tool post with the handle oriented this way, so it was certainly not something I expected.

The tool post works great, but I have an issue with the parting tool holder. After several times of using it the set screw, that is machined in the screw itself, stripped quite easily. So I cannot tighten the parting blade in the holder and cannot use it anymore without modifying the tool holder. Suggest a different way to secure the blade (maybe the holder be machined with a groove to set the blade and set screws like the standard tool holder).

Its a great set for the money! 05/14/2017 4:24:23 AM

Everything is this set works great. As long as you're not building for nasa, it'll do the job to tight tolerances. The parting tool holder is a little cheesy, and likes to tip the tool when tightened, but its a complete set for $160 (on sale) and its a great tool post set for the price.

    Good value 01/31/2017 10:18:21 AM

The best accessory for my 12" Atlas lathe! It's pleasure to switch tools without having to reset the tool height every time. Definitely a great value for home machinists and hobbyists. The locking handle would loosen up in the tool post often, but a few wraps of teflon tape on the threads seemed to take care of that issue.
