Cyclonic action separates the heavy dust particles from the fine particles and drops them into the 35-gallon steel drum. The fine dust travels past the 14-1/2" diameter impeller and is then trapped by a cartridge filter made of spun-bond polyester that filters 99.9% of particles from 0.2 to 2 microns in size. The cartridge filter is pleated to provide 96 square feet of surface area for efficient air movement and a clear plastic bag collects the fine cake that shakes off the filter for consistent dust collector performance. Casters mounted to the drum also make disposal of the larger chips and dust as easy as it gets. Other features include: a vertical motor support for reduced vibration, thick walled 11GA steel blower housing, 16GA steel cyclone body, 360° blower rotation for easy connection to a duct system, TEFC Class "F" motor, magnetic switch, and a remote control. The optional steel legs and support frame (H7499) also make setup quick and easy.

CSA certified meeting CAN/CSA C22.2 #243-10 and ANSI/UL 1017-8 standards!

    Great Product...but 10/14/2020 3:03:12 PM

I have been running this unit for over a year. It has performed great but I don't like the remote control. It is only line of sight which does not work well in a large shop. I have to walk over and aim the remote to turn it on.

I installed it on the wall and used 6" PVC pipe to home made blast gates. The vacuum is surprisingly strong for 2 h.p. I would like to see a R.F. conversion for the remote made for this unit.

    Its big 05/06/2020 11:52:35 AM

If I had it to do again Id get the optional stand. It was one heavy bugger to lift onto the mounting bolts on the wall.

    Great product 11/24/2018 11:23:11 PM

So far I am very happy with the product. The separation is very good. I have most of the material ending up in the hopper and have only fine dust in the filter. With my old single stage I had a haze of fine airborne dust in the garage after any extended use . Not any more. My only complaintit is that it is quite loud. I am considering buying the baffle.

Solid unit good value poor remote 12/17/2017 2:49:59 PM

    - Assembly straight forward recommend a hydraulic lift table and partially assembling unit to raise the fan section high enough to reach the wall bracket
    - Remote is a throwaway could not get it to work at all and its a line of sight unit.
    - Surprised new unit actually seems quieter then our older 1.5 Horsepower Oneida. Could be the cyclone housing since its a heaver gauge
    and reduce some noise.
    - Price point on this unit was really hard to beat appears to be the best value at the 2HP level.

Works great! Assembly and instructions could use improvement. 10/25/2017 3:13:33 PM

I bought the G0440 for my 3-car garage woodshop. I was considering the 1.5hp but after adding the cost plus the 220-conversion kit, I decided to just go with the 2hp which came with 220 standard. The collector arrived in 2 containers and the freight delivery guy dropped it right in my open garage door (I paid for lift gate service). The assembly took about 6 hours and could use some improvement. Some of the cyclone housing bolts are almost completely inaccessible. I mounted this in a corner and even if I had better access to the intake side of the machine it still would have been frustrating. There are a couple bolts you must tape into a wrench because the space is so tight (the instructions say to do this) and after a good part of an hour and a lot of cursing, I finally got the threads started on one bolt and left the other out altogether. I ended up taping the cyclone gaskets in place before bolting the cyclone together. It was very difficult to keep the holes in the gaskets lined up otherwise. I wall-mounted this unit and had one friend help with lifting the blower assembly into place. It is VERY heavy. I would suggest 2 helpers or one helper and a hoist. I bought the silencer (sold separately) and it was very frustrating to install. Just as I was about to call customer service and spew absolute rage into the phone, I figured out I had to mount the filter assembly on the lower 4 bolts instead of all 6 (see photo) in order for the outlet hose to make the bend. After going back and scouring the instructions It did say I might have to do this, but It was not clear, and the pictures in the instructions were not of the 2hp unit. Frustrating assembly aside, the assembled dust collector works great with my 6" ducting. It is permanently open on the table saw and I have numerous 6" and 4" ports on blast gates throughout the rest of the shop. I was worried about line of sight with the remote, so I bought some extra wire from the hardware store and mounted the magnetic switch in a more central location in the shop. No problems with the remote in this location about 10' from the table saw and the magnetic switch isn't too far away to turn of manually when I inevitably misplace the remote. Overall, I am satisfied with the purchase and performance of the G0440. I paired this dust collector with a DIY shop built air purifier (old furnace blower and furnace filters) and fine airborne dust is essentially zero.

The dust collector seems to be high quality but the shipping needs improvement. The pallet that the unit was shipped on is about 3/8" thick and did not hold the unit, it was bent and broken on arrival. The shipper actually added a pallet but it was too late. The filter in a separate box was damaged but I was able to repair, looked like it was dropped on the end where the large hose clamps on and was bent in.

The shipment came in as planned, assembled rationally and works well. Solid product.

    Customer Review 01/01/2015 5:14:36 PM

I was sitting at my desk this morning going through my e-mails and noticed one from you folks. And, I just thought I'd take this opportunity to send your back an e-mail that was long overdue.

Back in 1995, I was a finance and sales manager for a car dealership. And, while talking to a customer, I noticed he had a catalog in his hand. When he set it down, I saw it was a Grizzly catalog. I told him that I did woodworking as a hobby but had never heard of this company. He handed me the catalog and said, "Here, keep it. You have no idea what you've been missing or how much money you've been wasting." So, I took my new catalog to my desk and flipped through the pages for a few minutes...Okay...for the rest of the day! About two or three weeks later, I ordered my first Grizzly tool. A 3HP G1023 cabinet style table saw! I compared this saw and its features and construction to everything out there! Delta, Powermatic and all the rest. I was even told by a worker at a local woodworking store while looking at a Powermatic, "Buy the Grizzly. Dollar for dollar, nothing can touch it. We even use some of their equipment in the back!" So, the saw arrives at my house. I call my brother-in-law over to help me get this beast in the basement. (Not an easy task!) I proceed to set it up only to find out that, everything was nearly perfect right out of the box! I mean...PERFECT! I myself, have purchased many more tools from you folks. But, I have turned more people on to you guys than I can count! All of my friends and family all own tons of Grizzly tools. TONS!

Now...about 10 years ago, I left the automobile business to spend more time with my family (and, to do more woodworking!) and, I now do the purchasing for Schutte Buffalo Hammer Mill. If you check your records, you'll see that we have purchased a milling machine and dozens and dozens of dust collectors and cyclones from you folks! I believe in your products and I have an enormous amount of respect for your company and staff. I've taken the drive from Buffalo, NY to your Williamsport (now, Muncy) showroom many times with friends and family that couldn't wait for shipping! I have witnessed the way your staff treats your customers and handles any questions or problems that they may have. And, I have to tell you, I was absolutely impressed with what I saw. The courtesy and professionalism was far above what I had expected. (Isn't that, sad?) You have no idea how refreshing it is to deal with you folks at Grizzly. Being the purchaser, I deal with a lot of suppliers. You people are among the best I've ever dealt with.

In closing, I'd just like to say one last thing. I don't know who the business genius's are behind the whole "Grizzly Industrial" idea. But, I have to say... You people should be giving seminars on how a company should be run to every company and business in the U.S.! I wish you continued success!
