Overview
Massive cast-iron construction, large inboard turning capacity, inverter technology and 3-phase motor for variable-speed spindle control and maximum spindle toque within each spindle range without requiring 3-phase power, and outboard turning capability make this Heavy-Duty Wood Lathe the only choice for serious wood turners. The variable-speed control knob and digital RPM readout make it easy to dial in the perfect spindle speed. A forward/reverse switch and floor-supported cast-iron outboard tool rest also provides full flexibility for any outboard turning job. If you’re a serious wood turner, or you’re wanting to increase your turning capability, you owe it to yourself to give this lathe serious consideration.

Excellent and heavy duty!!! 01/09/2019 4:26:35 PM

Have owned this lathe for several years, very heavy duty and great quality. Advertised at a low speed of 50RPM, I can easily turn at 25rpm for large, heavy, out-of-balance projects. If I had one wish, it would be the ability to turn projects up to 8 feet long but I think no one makes such a lathe.

So, if you are looking for heavy duty lathe, I can recommend this one!!

I purchased this lathe a few months ago and overall I am really happy with it. What Im not happy with is that the tool rest post is 1.25 and there are no accessory tool rests available with that large of a post. I need a curve tool rest for bowls and Grisslys Response was go to a machine shop to have one made.
