Got it Friday. Was packed well. Looked good. A little surprised actually. Sole was not absolutely flat. Fixed it Saturday morning. Took a couple of hours to do a tune-up I was expecting to need to do anyway, so wasn't unpleasant at all. Sole had a crown around the mouth opening. Was able to fix rather easily with a mill file and sanding. Then honed the blade. Cuts nice thin shavings now. Used it Saturday afternoon to flatten a work bench top. If you find pleasure in saving money, getting a well-made old-Stanley knock-off (but not perfect) like this and tuning it up yourself. ... go for it. Certainly worth $74 plus shipping. Have a Hock blade and chip breaker on order #BBS238. Looking forward to seeing what that adds to the experience.
