Decent mill 01/05/2019 3:09:22 PM

Mill seems to be good. I bought this mill to drill n tap aluminum plate so wanted tap feature. Which seems to work well. Things that could be better is. The power switch needs to be pushed just right to turn on. The bolt on top of quill to change collett is 16mm. The wrench you get is 17mm... We shall see how it hols up after doing 10000 parts. One thing i adjusted was tension on the quill . In manual says to rotate clockwise. I had to rotate counterclockwise to get tension. Not sure if typo or what.

The mill/drill performed to my expectation! 11/19/2018 10:37:44 PM

This little mill/drill I bought back in July of 2018 has performed to my expectation. It was trammed in pretty good from the factory so I did not have to adjust it at all. I did have a small problem with the quill hanging up a bit but after I pulled out the quills rack and pinion shaft and cleaned off the shipping grease and adjust the quills dog-point screw that holds the quill from turning in housing it works perfectly now. For this reason I could not give it a 5 star rating. As with most machinery there is always something small that doesn't perform perfectly straight from the factory. I mostly bought it to do wood working but have also used it to build small fixtures out of alum. to perform various kinds of wood working task. I was impressed with its taping function which performed flawlessly in alum. Even though it says heavy duty mill/drill I would not say it could perform like a standard knee mill as far as heavy cuts but it does take a decent cut in alum. with little or no vibrations. Since I am a journeyman machinist and have been in the field for over 35 yrs I am very pleased with its performance for the smaller stuff I do in my wood shop. I did go to DRO Pros to purchase a 2 axis magnetic scale digital read out which I could not live without on this little mill. Over all I would say this is a nice little mill for light to medium work in a small home shop. I would highly recommend it for anyone who is like me and needs a small mill to do those task that can only be performed easily on a mill.
