THere was a rough spot in the bearings that seemed to disappear with use. Probably some grit ?
The MT2 shank was too short to self eject from my tailstock so I put a 6mm cap bolt in the through bore.
The through bore will help in disassembly sometime in the future.
The bore has some burrs, not threaded, that hold the 6mm bolt secure enough.
I could grind a bit off the cap bolt to adjust the place where it self ejects but it is fine for now.
I tried the through bore for disassembly. It works with the right size rod
I found the bearing were a little tight.
There is two ball bearings and a ball thrust bearing. After I reassembled the live center I could feel a little more roughness.
A single tap on the disassembly rod loosened the bearings a bit.
The live center feels very smooth now.
Future replacement of the bearings should be easy.
