The tilting jaws add useful flexibility to the already flexible Parrot Vise. The tilting action allows firm gripping of items with straight, but non-parallel sides (e.g., guitar necks). The Parrot Vise, however, requires that the gripping be quite firm or the vise will rotate under load (e.g. planing or vigorous filing or scraping). And the cork faces of the Tilting Jaws don't take kindly to the level of grip that's required if the contact area is small. Resilient plastic (urethane?) faces might be better. Nonetheless, the Parrot Vise with Tilting Jaws is now an indispensable tool in my workshop.
