Welding needs improvement. Some joints, nuts, and fittings need grinding to remove sloppy welds in order to function and fit properly. Overall it works well.
Purchased for 6x89 belt sander ,it moves easy ,and stays where you want it to when you push levers down. Can't go wrong with this product! Excellent mobile base.
My Grizzly table saw has been the center of attention in my shop for years. Too difficult to move... until now.
The Bear Crawl base is an awesome product, but there are some manufacturing issues that need some attention.
1) Welds are at best amateur.
Many were incomplete.
2) Parts are not welded together square.
One swivel wheel mount is angled differently than the other.
One stationary wheel mount is welded greater than 90 degrees.
Aside from the poor welding the base is well designed and works perfectly. I like the fact it as toe flips for the rubber feet. Much easier than screwing it up or down whenever you want to move or use the machine.
Great quality and easy to fallow instructions. Now my band saw is easy to move from one place to another and that is what I needed.
I bought this mobile base about a month ago it is the best 1 that I have ever owned I have several the T28000 Bear Crawl is the Best!!!!
Packaged well but shipping UPS with the weight outer box beat up but inner box intact. The return roller axle pin had fallen inside roller and had to disassemble top, remove roller and fish out the pin. Not the sturdiest planer on the market but seems to work fine.
Very sturdy base and easy to put together whether your saw is already together or not!
Easy to adjust and works with a lot of different machines!! v
Works well, rolls easily. Easy to assemble. The reason I only gave it 3 stars is that the black powder coating got inside the nuts that the bolts for the fixed wheels go into. I thought the bolts would still thread into the nuts and the powder coat would just come off. Well it didn't, it actually stripped the bolt. I had to buy a tap and tap out the nuts to remove the powder coat.
price dropped $20,00 before I received them. How about a rebate of $20. ??
We bought this for our son and he loves it. Fits the saw just right and makes it very moveable.
i bought the shop fox base for my 14" band saw and i find it difficult to maneuver the machine around the casters do not want to cooperate . so when i bought my g1023 table saw i decided to try grizzly's bear crawl and it a lot easier to move the table saw around my basement than the other base i have. i only wish non caster wheels were a little higher so i could level the machine using the posts instead of shimming the cabinet base.
Makes it very easy for me to move so I can sweep up my shop and park the vehicles in.
Not until you get your Chinese Manufacture to make it without rust of internal eight of the major parts and to pack it in a real shipping carton so the outside of the painted parts are not dented, paint removed, etc. during shipping!!!!

Must take care not to over-torque the bolts (16 of them) that adjust the size of the base. Each nut is fastened to the frame with two spot welds that can break loose (two nuts in my case) if the bolts are torqued up to what you might think is an appropriate level.
Is a really nice base with two exceptions. As others have said, be careful tightening the bars because the nuts are lightly tack welded, one broke with very little force. Grizzly did send me a replacement pronto....excellent customer service. Other issue is the side with the swivel wheels is 1/2" higher than the fixed wheel side. I put a tall 15" wide belt sander on it, lean was bad. I had to put 1/2" spacers between the machine and base on the fixed wheel side to level it with the feet up and it sitting on the rollers. It is one of the nicest mobile bases other than that. I would buy another.
great base for planer makes it very easy to move around
Bought this item and I am so glad I did, it is worth its weight in gold.
I purchased two of these several weeks ago for the 1023 tablesaw and 55lx bandsaw. After a very simple cut on two of the heavy duty runners, they fit snug and perfect on both bases. Super easy and stable mobility with pop down rubber feet controlled by stepping on them (no bending down). Highly recommended.
This product was great for the price. I needed to cut two of the metal bars to shorten the side length. It took me about 30 minutes to assemble everything. Now my jointer rolls around with ease.
I don't know how I have managed my tablesaw in the garage for all these years without one. This thing is amazing.
Ordered for Contractor style table saw, works great, could easily handle larger tasks.
I replaced an expensive mobile base I purchased with this grizzly mobile base. Wow what a difference, it is so much better built than base I purchased from the Woodcraft store. My prior base was harder to put together and although it was supposed to be rated for the weight of my machine the wheels were bending and flexing out of shape and made moving my machine difficult. Not so with this one. This one was well worth the money.
Seemed like the mobile base was going to work nicely, but had a crookedly-welded corner piece that held one caster off the ground. Asked for a replacement part, but that couldn't be provided. Was supposed to get replacement package, but was given a refund instead.
Best mobile base I have bought. Heavy duty and rolls smoothly. Hope to get another while they are still on sale.
I bought this a little over a month ago to go with the 14" anniversary edition band saw. Like one other person stated one of the cons to this piece are the nuts welded to the corner brackets. As I was tightening one of the bolts for the rail one of the weld points broke. Be very careful or you are going to pulling out your welder. I did have to run the two adjustable feet all the up in order for it roll around without dragging in the up position. The biggest pro that I can point out is how easily, and quickly, the assembly is. You can, if even marginally mechanically inclined, put this together without the instructions. Even with the locking rail nut issue I am extremely happy with this base unit.
Great product easy to assemble. I modified the lengths of two of the spacer bars for a perfect fit with the 14" Grizzly bandsaw and am very pleased. I have a number of mobile bases from other suppliers and this one is the best!
I bought this to put under my Powermatic edge sander. Here are my observations regarding its assembly and use:
1) The edge sander I used this under is now VERY easy to move. Much more so than when I had a home made, wood base (with good casters), which raised the unit up several inches.
2) The base design raises the tool only enough to allow the wheels to roll freely, so it doesn’t raise the center of gravity a great deal.
3) The locking mechanism is very easy to engage and disengage.
4) The base was easy to assemble and could be figured out without directions. The hardest thing to figure out would be the locking mechanism.
1) BE VERY CAREFUL tightening the sixteen (16) short bolts that hold the square tubing in the four corner pieces. They are spot welded and it takes very little pressure to break them loose.
Fortunately, it doesn’t take much pressure to lock the tubes to the corner pieces. Too, the tubes fit into larger tubes and most the abuse they would suffer is downward pressure, rather than lateral or horizontal.
1) I bought a cheap EVOLUTION carbide tooth metal cut off saw a while back. It made quick work of shortening square tubing that slide into the corners, to get a fairly tight fit around the base.
2) The non-swiveling wheels are mounted so they roll parallel to the base to which they attach. Because of that,
attention must be given to which corners sections longer or shorter tubes are mounted in.
One way, my edge sander must be rolled with wide section to the right and left and could not be rolled through the four foot wide shop door. If set on the base the other way, it will fit and should be more stable during moves.
3) I had to run the two locking mechanisms all the way in to get them to raise the unit as little as possible. You only need to raise the wheels about 1/8â€, or less, to to stop the base from moving around.
4) This is one of four commercial mobile bases in my shop [out of 16 total]. One of the two Grizzly bases is built into my 8" spiral jointer and its great too. This one seems comparable to the others for ease of use and mobility. It has the advantage over the others in that it can be cut down for a tight fit. I, definitely, would buy it again.
I have had multiple mobile bases--- None have worked like the Bear Crawl. These work GREAT! five star! I can move my 600# milling machine and stand with minimal effort.
I have limited shop space and have to keep my Delta table saw rolled out of the way. This base seems to handle the weigh effortlessly. The saw is too heavy to for just me to pick up. So I had to assemble it in place.. It was a bit of a hassle to assemble under the saw while I had it up on blacks. But, not bad. I'm more than happy!
I ordered this to replace a Shop Fox mobile base for my Grizzly G0513X2BF. It is head and shoulders better than the Shop Fox! I wish it had been released about a month earlier so I could have saved some time, pain, and money. The wheels roll like butter and spin effortlessly. The foot levers are such a great improvement over what I was using and the overall fit and finish is really nice. I did have to cut down two cross bars to get it to fit my bandsaw, but it was easy cuts and best of all the base is level. I couldn't be happier! I literally threw the Shop Fox in the trash because that's where it belongs. Spend the extra money and buy this one!
I waited over 2 months to receive this item, then after I assembled it, I found it had a faulty weld. I'll repair it myself, as I don't want to waste my time sending it back to receive another one. Need better quality control, I can't say I wouldn't recommend this, but I'm not happy. Don't you respond to your customers anymore?
To put it simply, this is the best mobile base I've ever used. The assembly is far quicker and simpler, everything fits well, and the steel is appropriately thick enough to support the heaviest machines. To make mine fit my jointer base better I should have shortened two of the cross bars, however, due to the large mounting surface plates there is enough support such that shortening wasn't even necessary. I wish the Bear Crawl existed at the time I bought a different brand base for my table saw. Outstanding!
I bought this for my new Grizzly 1023 table saw. Actually I am pleased with it. At 1200pds it has more capacity than it's Shop Fox and is a better value at $69. The rubber wheels roll easily across concrete. I really like the toe flip lifting levers. I have to move my saw frequently and it's a big convenience to easily operate the lifting levers with my feet. The only reason I downgraded it was because of a faulty weld on one of the nuts used to attach the steel bars. When I tightened the bolt down to the bar the welded nut broke free. I should have sent it back but I decided I could probably fix it myself. I saw a similar review with the same problem. Says something about quality control. I'd recommend it with caution.
Bought this for a recent purchase of a G0690. I can almost push my table saw around with one finger. The foot pads lock the saw in position quickly. This is the way to go rather than the standard mobile base! Plus I think it is a little cheaper!
It's a good mobile. Are as far as moving around. However, due to the size of the rear casters, it has a pretty substantial lean when you put it in place. You will have to do some shimming if your trying to fit it to an outfeed table for a table saw. Other than that good product. Strong
Purchased 2 originally and they worked great. A small modification for a smaller base required only shortening the base extensions. They worked so well I purchased two more. Solved small work shop tool relocation issues. Great product
My Sawstop cabinet saw was too heavy for my previous base. This works perfectly.
Great product, well built and it functions very well.
Bought this to help move my table saw in a 1 car garage. It went together easily. Now I can actually get around in the shop.
I have several mobile bases for my workshop tools and this is one of the best. Very smooth and quite due to the rubber tires, and I love the cam lock down instead of the screw type.
These wheeled bases allowed me to be able to move my heavy tools around my garage shop without help. Very easy to assemble and easy to use.
I like the feature change of the flip levers to raise and lower the mobile base.
Bought the Bear Crawl Mobile Base a week ago. Installed it on my 1955 Delta Unisaw. This is a very heavy machine and I can move it around with ease using this mobile base. The base is very heavy duty.
I love the way this base allows me to wheel my shaper around the shop, but, the wheels and the locks do stick out more on the sides than I realized...about 4" on each side beyond the shaper stand. Other than that, no complaints.
Works great, helps me free up room in my small shop.
Years ago, I bought a similar base for my table saw, and wondered why I waited so long to make my saw mobile. Recently, I had to rearrange some stuff in my garage and needed another base for my "tipsy" drill press (1956 vintage). This Bear Crawl base arrived (after a long wait on backorder) and I put it together easily. Perfect fit, and this base allows me to move the drill press with two fingers.
Just received this product and am well pleased. Has a great design and rolls very easily with my radial arm saw. The leg extensions were not long enough for my radial arm saw, which has an unusually wide stance, but I found some longer tubing and put them in and it works great. Took several months to get it, but it was worth the wait.
Lots of assembly ... large footprint that can become a trip hazard. Works well but could not be as stable if it is subject to vibrations. Would upgrade the locking feet.
Much improved from the original. Hopefully the new wheels are durable. Not happy with the 3 month shipping delay
This product was easy to assemble and so far has worked as advertised. It rolls over smooth concrete floors easily and with a touch of your toe goes from mobile to stationary. Worth the 4 month wait in getting it delivered.
