I've used this saw both for cutting 2"2"x1/4" angle iron as well as some 1/4" mild steel plate. When cutting in the horizontal position the motor has plenty of power, the controls for downfeed are easy to use and repeatable so overall quite a value for the money. The only issue is the supplied "table" for use when cutting in a vertical position is both so thin and not well supported that it flexes even under light weight which of course distorts any chance of a straight or predictable cut. Either look for an upgrade or make a table for yourself for this saw and you'll be happy with the purchase.
Not impressed with putting a blade that costs you less than $5 on an $850 machine and lasted one day.
I'm very happy with this bandsaw. Works great! I just wish I had received an offer to provide feedback on the lathe I purchased just before the bandsaw. I am very disappointed that I can't find boring bars for this lathe and if I had known that it had this limitation, I'd have ordered a larger lathe.
I purchased this 3 or 4 months ago. However with Haying time and my Purple Martin arrivals I haven't even had time to plug it in. I want to weld a platform to sit it on so I won't have to bend over so far when I cut something. Due to a Back Injury I had in Viet-Nam.
Only problem is the coolant doesn't go toward the drain. The base is sloped to each end and not to the center where the coolant drain tube is, Need to put a little more slope on this.
I bought this saw for one particular project. Overall very happy. I went slow and squared the fence to the blade and I was very happy with the results. Better than the local metal shop I bought the stock from. I was cutting C10x15.3. Took a little bit but the cuts were very square with the stock blade. Good enough for me. I will get many years of use out of this saw.
