This chisel will smooth cylinders, clean the end grain of spindles, cut shallow curves, beads, pummels, v-cuts, stair balusters, and chair legs.
The oval skew is indispensable for creating fine finishes and is not designed for bowl grain projects.
HSS (high-speed steel) has been heat treated for hardness and wear resistance, which keeps a sharp edge longer than other carbon steels.
