DC1231 1/4" Shank, 1/2" Core Box Router Bit
Our core box bits are designed to create perfect, smooth radius grooves for a variety of decorative applications. Ideal for adding elegant details to cabinet doors, furniture, and other woodworking projects, these bits feature an upshear design for clean cuts and efficient chip removal. The extra-long cutting length provides added versatility for creating deeper grooves and intricate designs.
The shearing action cuts serves four purposes:
- Smoother cutting action: The shear angle cuts through the wood more smoothly, reducing chipping and tear-out.
- Improved chip clearance: The shear angle lifts the chips away from the cutting edge, preventing them from clogging the bit and causing burning.
- Longer tool life: The shear angle reduces friction between the bit and the wood, leading to less wear and tear on the cutting edge.
- Self-feeding: The shear angle can create a self-feeding effect, where the bit pulls itself through the wood–especially helpful for plunge cuts
The DC1231 has a 1/4" shank and can be used in either handheld or mounted in a router table.
Made in an ISO 9001 factory

- Cutter diameter: 1/2"
