The T22294 Stanley No. 4 Sweetheart Smoothing Plane was created with the input of users and engineers, combining science and the art of tool making to produce the best possible tool.
The No. 4 Smoothing Plane is arguably the most commonly used bench plane and a good starter plane for those new to woodworking.
With a 2" wide blade, it is heavy enough to produce a smooth cut, but not so heavy that it is tiring to use.
This iron bodied classic Stanley plane is made with a 1/8" thick A2 steel cutting edge for excellent edge retention.
The front knob and handle are genuine American Cherry for style and comfort.
The Norris-type adjustment is for ease of use and has a lateral patented adjustment locking feature.
Each hand plane features an adjustable throat plate for different types of wood.
The Stanley No. 4 is 2-1/2" wide by 10-5/8" long with a 2" wide blade.
