I'm putting up tongue and grove pine on the walls of my shop, 5,600 linear feet of it. I wanted to sand it to get the planner marks off. This machine is making very fast work of it.
I've seen a lot of comments on getting it to track properly and after messing with it for an hour or so, I found that the tension was way to tight and was over riding the tracking adjustment. When I eased off on the drive belt tension, the tracking adjustment worked great.
The other issue I had was after sanding A LOT of boards the sanding belt would break - this is my fault for not changing the belt often enough. However, when it breaks it destroys the metal plate inside. I'm assuming the plat is there for dust collection. After repairing the plate several times, I just left it off. But I'm using a pretty powerful dust collector, so it hasn't been a problem. Again, this is really a self inflected issue.
The only negative I have, is that there needs to be some instruction on how to set the drive tension and tracking. There is really no information available on this that I could find. The manual says it's adjusted at the factory, so be carful not to change it without counting the turns of the bolts. That's fine IF it was adjusted correctly at the factory, if not, you're on your own.
