I bought a used Grizzly lathe that was missing the tailpiece center. The phone tech helped me verify the part and ordered it for me. Great customer service!

Does the job 06/06/2017 6:39:43 PM

Cost and quality are great! I needed to upgrade my "cup style" center for an older lather I picked up (1960's power kraft model). Had no trouble with the install and since the original did not have a live center with the bearings, but was fixed so that the wood had to spin on it, this one offered a much improved performance to my old lathe and no longer burned the tail end of the stock.

I bought this to replace the one on my Grizzly lathe and it has worked flawlessly.

    Great Product 05/26/2017 12:18:43 PM

It offers a way to center on the work but then back it up with force without the risk of splitting the wood. It can also be covered with a matt or leather to provide force against a finished surface to help hold the work without causing tool marks.

It's a fine part but not the greatest quality. Definitely average.
