Works amazing! 07/20/2020 6:20:03 PM

I would have had to empty that terrible plastice bag 5 times by now without this, right now there is less than an inch of dust in the bottom of the bag, I'll probably only have to empty it once a year. Since is is so easy to empty I am able to run the dust collect more often, keeping the shop clean and my lungs healthier. This was well worth the money. Solid metal all around should last decades.

Glad I finally got this cyclone separator! 06/27/2020 12:47:41 PM

Like most woodworkers, I started out using my shop vac without a separator. After clogging several filters, I bought a small separator. It was good for a few tools, but not good enough to handle my planer or jointer. When a friend offered to sell me their 1.5 horse dust collector, I didn't hesitate. As good as it is, I found emptying the bag all the time to be pretty messy. Adding a cyclone separator has been the perfect addition. Now, most of my collection happens in the cyclone and only the finest particles make it to the cloth bag on the collector. I empty it weekly now instead of daily. What a time saver the grizzly cyclone separator has been in my one man shop.

As advertised very effective 06/22/2020 5:04:12 AM

I was on my way to purchasing yet another vacuum to hook up to my table saw by it self because of the regular clogs in my more than 30' of six inch pipe to the main 3 hp vacuum collector. Even added two wall mount 1 hp vacuums to push the saw dust from the tools to the the main vacuum collector but would still get clogs in the lines. Finally realized that because of the high volume of ripping I was doing on the table saw the volume wasn't the problem but the stringey saw dust generated from ripping lumber vs. sawdust generated cross cutting lumber. Hooked up the Growler next to the table saw using the main vac to pull the air through the pipe/Growler. "Walla" no more clogs because the Growler captured all of the large saw dust generated by ripping and no loss in vacuum suction. Completely filled the barrel in less than two hours of ripping. Thinking about mounting the head on a 55 gallon drum but for now will stick with empting the smaller barrel more often. Added a second handle on the opposite side of the barrel to make it easier moving and emptying the barrel/bag. Also installed another observation window on the opposite side of the existing window because naturally the factory window is facing away from where I can see it during operation. Have two of the smaller plastic competitors mounted on 6 gallon buckets which work great for sanding stations, but they couldn't hand the volume the Growler handles. Hope this helps prospective buyers. Knowing what I know now about how the Growler works I would buy it again.

Outstanding cyclone unit 06/16/2020 1:23:05 AM

I purchased the Grizzly G0548ZP dust vac (2hp) system along with the cyclone separator. In my first month, I've emptied the cyclone can 3 times full of jointer and table saw cuttings - and had LESS than a cup of sawdust reach the back under the filter of the Dust Vac. This is a very outstanding 2-stage sytem - I've very happy, and would certainly buy again!! Note: when making the runs to each machine, it's important to seal the joints and install blast gates correctly (there is a correct side to install to maximize their efficiency in making a seal). I've got the dust vac system assembled with 4 separate hook-ups currently on blast gates - all work very well. Great system - great product! I was unsure when I purchased if it would be as good as I had hoped - happily I can say the system works exactly as I hoped it would!!! I'm very happy to give this system a 5-star rating.

Put it together and finally tested it. Works great and grabs at least 95-98% of the material.

I bought this a month ago cane damage and grizzly replaced it. New came hooked it all up and started using in it. Wish the top part of cyclone was stronger to secure the hook up for the 6 hose. And wish it had caps for the bag hose cause I dont use a bag for collection.

Seems to do as expected 05/13/2020 10:58:24 AM

I brought this a month ago and only just got around to getting the duct work completed to try it out. Seems to work just fine. I only have 2 criticisms: the first is regarding the instructions. It comes with a vacuum ring/cone which I just couldn't get my heard around that it is just placed in the bottom of the dust collection unit, and the instructions (at least to me) seemed just a tad light on this. The second is that it had a couple of dents, nothing major, and nothing that will prevent normal operation, but one on said vacuum ring and another on the 4" dust inlet.

Great Product 05/09/2020 4:16:48 PM

I bought this a month ago and I am very happy with it. The setting up was very easy and took under 30 minutes. I am glad I dont have to empty the dust collector bag that often and also the hepa filter is not clogging at all.

This cyclone works great. All metal parts. No more removing bags from dust collector.

Great addition to dust collection system 04/18/2020 1:19:45 PM

Assembly is strait forward. Works as expected, very little makes it to the dust collection bag, means less to the filter.

Good Product overall 03/11/2020 11:15:59 AM

I bought this for the cyclone separator only because the storage drum is to small. It does a great job but it would be nice if you could by just the cyclone separator without the drum.

Very well made! 01/01/2020 11:19:10 PM

I ordered a cyclone separator from another company (which I will not name): one piece plastic with a paper barrel. I sent it back when I reviewed the Grizzly Growler. NO COMPARISON! The Grizzly product is mostly metal, has wheels, can use a bag, has a window to see the dust level and works great! I am very pleased.

Really pleased with this 12/24/2019 10:06:19 PM

I connected this to my 1.5 HP dust collector and it has really made my dust collection a lot better right off the bat. I purchased this a few weeks ago and since then have worked a few small projects using roughly 30 board feet of walnut and maple. This includes using the planer, jointer, bandsaw, tablesaw, and router table. Immediately after connecting it I noticed that the volume of air being moved had increased significantly. The dust collection at my tablesaw is the most noticeably better - the suction is stronger and more consistent now. The container on the Grizzly collector is currently just under half full and there's less than a cup of shavings/dust in the collection bag of the second stage - and a bit of that is from making a few cuts in between cleaning out the collector unit and setting up the Grizzly piece - the amount that has accumulated since I connected the Grizzly collector is minimal.

Game changer 12/11/2019 12:33:10 PM

Adapted perfectly with my old single stage unit. Picks up nearly all the dust before it his the filter bags

Nicely made 09/01/2019 4:21:33 PM

Only thing I wish they made with it is a wall mount. Without it it is difficult to change out can.

Great product - better price! 08/23/2019 5:16:40 PM

I bought two cyclones to install ahead of my two portable dust collectors. The went together easily, work great and have made emptying a breeze compared to the hanging cloth bags.

This dust separator has been a great addition to my shop. I have a 2HP Grizzly dust extractor and decided to add this and they work great together. I have better cfm at all my machines so less dust in my shop. AWSOME

This thing rocks! 05/21/2019 11:59:12 PM

I recently added this to a Shop Fox W1666 dust collector and am really happy with the way it works. It does seem to trap everything in the dust bin before it ends up in the collector bag. I've dumped it four times since I installed it and I really don't see anything in the dust collector bag yet. It just works great. With this and the addition of a Grizzly pleated outlet filter, it's raised my dust collection to another level. Great product!

Just what I needed 03/07/2019 12:15:46 PM

I had been looking to add a stage to my dust collection system. The trash can stage I had added was not effective and it seemed most of the cyclone options were over priced. This system is well made and effective. I have been making hickory furniture using the system for over a month now and i have emptied the 25 gallon tank 10 + times and the plastic bag collector under my systems filter remains nearly dust free. I mounted the cyclone on the wall so it is easy to empty. Mounting was not something the system was designed for, but was not terribly difficult. This is a good value and for me a must have in my shop.

UNBELIEVABLE DIFFERENCE! 02/23/2019 1:27:50 AM

Wow! I absolutely love the Cyclone and can't believe I waited this long. Since connecting it to my HF dust collector, my bag has been very lonely, my planer works much better, and the dust has been reduced dramatically. Again, I wish I had installed this years ago. Couldn't be happier - and if you're on the fence, don't be! Well worth the money!
