I wish it came with leveling feet, otherwise it is looking like it will be great.

I just got it out of the box, and have not run it. Its advertised with leveling feet. It did not come with any, so I have to order some. The tool box that came with it was broken. Would be nice if it came with oil for the break in. Other than that it looks good, will do full review after getting leveling feet, oil, and power cord.

very good light duty lathe 08/10/2018 1:54:13 PM

The lathe was not adjusted correctly . I had to tighten the cross slide up it would vibrate and move. The tool post that was sent was no good. You replaced it. The one set you sent is ok. Have not gotten used to the .002 on the dials but ok .Love the brake this is what I was used to when doing die and machine work at Florida tile years ago. Would not be a good lathe for teaching on, when I taught school at Coosa Valley Tech School. To light but all round a good lathe for hobby work. Thanks for replacing the tool post new one works very good. William Spurgeon

Just received the machine and setting it up. I can not say much about quality until I make chips for a while.
I have always thought a lathe was not fully functional without a taper attachment. So it was ordered as well.
While ordering I asked if it will interfere with the splash guard. Answer was "no".
Well the answer is " kind of" . You will lose three inches of travel to the head stock and around ten towards the tailstock.
That just turned my 14by40 into a 14by28.
I will do some cutting and welding to both ends of the splash guard to make clearance.
This should have been caught and corrected by the design and engineering team.

The design of the attachment was not thought out well.
You have to hold the attachment against the saddle and transfer some center punch marks to the saddle for drilling and tapping.
No clearance for transfer punch to fit in the hole! Luckily I had blind hole transfer punches available.
And really the two holes should be predrilled at the factory.

Installing the taper attachment went well. But don't think you can throw away the instructions before hand.

Very good Lathe 07/05/2018 1:59:02 PM

I have owned this lathe in a gunsmithing shop since 2011.

All I can say have worked on many I have never had to repair it before doing the work for our customers...

We finally had to repair it a few days ago but that was caused by a mishap from the machinist side.

    Good product 01/13/2018 3:39:42 PM

Only issue I have is a gearbox that leaks. Other than that. I love it

One very fine quality lathe 08/19/2017 1:16:01 AM

After owning this lathe for a couple of years I feel I now know enough about it to write a good review for you. I have used Monarch's, Hardinge, Mori Seiki, American and many other lathes in my work as a Machinist. I can unequivocally recommend this lathe to anyone compared to any other lathe at any price. It is slightly lighter duty than the other lathes mentioned, but it is not lower in precision. The lathe works as it is supposed to. Oh, and did I mention that I did not have to repair it? If you want to repair and hand scrape machine tools instead of use them, pay the same price as this lathe and buy a worn out old machine that you can work hard on for a year or two. If you want to use the machine instead, buy this one. The things that are not quite as high quality as a lathe costing eight times as much are not of major consequence. This lathe is straight and stays straight if you level it regularly. I can think of no reason anybody would be unhappy with this machine at all. A fabulous machine for very little money. What more could you possibly ask?

So far so good, we did receive the lathe with no oil in the headstock
