G1023RLW 10" 3 HP Cabinet Table Saw w/ Built-in Router Table

Everything you need in a high-end table saw, plus a Router Table.

We took our G1023RL Cabinet Table Saw and made it even better by including a built-in router table that doubles as a table extension wing. The G1023RLW 10" 3 HP 240V Cabinet Table Saw with Built-in Router Table includes support legs and universal T-track router clamping system. The Shop Fox® Classic Fence included for the table saw doubles as a router table fence.

You'll find that using this system is actually much nicer and more convenient than using a typical router table or hand held router for those cuts where the fence is not required to be offset, especially if the table saw is set up with large outfeed tables. Another great advantage is being able to make laser straight dadoes without having to change table saw blades. Please note: this router table does not work with small trim routers.

Like all Grizzly table saws, the G1023RLW comes with a 1-year warranty which covers parts and assures the unit is free from factory defects. (Consumables are not covered by the warranty.)

The G1023RLW manual was written by our U.S. based Technical Documentation Department and is packed with useful information. The complete and easy to read manual makes it easier to assemble and maintain your saw.

The Grizzly Customer Service and Technical Support Teams are U.S. based. Parts and accessories for the table saw are available on-line and shipped from the Grizzly parts warehouse in Springfield, MO.

What a great saw! 05/09/2020 12:52:22 PM

Taking your time putting the saw together is key to your overall experience while using it. Once that's out of the way, the skies the l limit to what you can do and make. Plenty of power, nice big flat cast iron work area, and it's easy to roll around on the mobile base that I bought extra. I highly recommend this saw to anyone.

I bought this saw because of the reviews I read regarding Grizzly customer service. I am sure glad I did. When the table saw arrived with shipping damage, Grizzly immediately sent out replacement parts. Grizzly is AWESOME!

Worth Every Penny 04/04/2020 2:05:52 PM

I bought this saw roughly a month ago. The fit and finish on the saw is great. It operates wonderfully. I did buy the mobile base and the extension kit for it. The issue I ran into was that the extension kit was over a foot too long. I had to cut 2/3s of the extension bar off as well as cut 2 inches off the female end. This meant that I had to drill a new hole and weld on a new nut for the bolt to tighten against the extension bar. The saw is definitely worth it. Before this I've never had a saw that I could resaw with and have a usable piece of wood come out the other side. I also purchased the folding out feed table with it. I had some issues with bent rollers which customer service helped me with. I would recommend getting the out feed table with it. The fence is nice, the gauge on it is terrible. It is a bubble shaped plastic piece that is designed to magnify the numbers on the tape. The issue is that when mounted, the bottom of the gauge is almost a 1/4" above the tape. On top of that, the domed bubble piece is another 3/16" above the bottom of the gauge. Essentially it's like taking a weak plastic magnifying glass and holding it 1/2" above a tape measure and trying to get a consistent line up. I ended up fabricating a new sight gauge that rides just above the tape (picture attached). That solved the issue.

Really solid table saw. Replacing an old Craftsman 12 03/06/2020 8:42:24 PM

Have only had about a month but so far I really like the saw. I miss my old 12 saw capacity but the Grizzly 10 is much more solid, stable and accurate.

wow 01/16/2020 12:06:31 AM

Wow. Been wanting one of these saws for years, now I have it and it is great. Set up was easy every thing lined up perfect, was missing one part but quick trip to hardware got it. Ran a piece of 5/4 maple through it like butter. Then I raised the blade all the way up and resawed a piece of white oak. I look forward to many years of fun with it.

Great saw!! 01/11/2020 2:25:20 AM

I received this saw a month ago. Ordered it in Dec 2019 and received it in 9 days after ordering, wow! I ordered it with lift-gate service of course which is the way to go. No damage at all on the main box, the box with the rails, fence and all was a little torn up but with all the foam in the box everything inside was fine. Took awhile to clean all the grease off everything but I took all the time I needed. I used WD-40 to remove the grease and that worked really well, just let it set for awhile after you spray it on. After getting the saw base onto the mobile base I assembled the saw. Assembly went well just take your time. Got all the table extensions attached, table rails on, fence rail and fence on. Checked the fence for parallel to T-slot with a dial indicator which was not bad considering being shipped. Made an easy adjustment to the fence and I was good. Blade was parallel to the slot by 4 thousands. Put the blade guard on and it was time for a test. I plugged it into a 220 outlet for the saw and hit the on button..... NICE! Yup I said it out loud. This saw is very quiet even when running wood through it. The cut was very smooth and the board glided over that polished table. After I performed a test cut I swept the the table off and stood a nickel on edge on the table and hit the on button..... The nickel didn't move. Cool.
So I have been using this saw for a month now and I have to say it's worth it. It's a lot of money but it's a joy to use.

Well built. 01/08/2020 6:07:26 PM

I would recommend the saw to anyone that wants to step up to a better saw. Also would recommend putting it together yourself so you can take the time to do it right. Took me about 6 hrs including the bear crawler base. The instruction book was either written by someone that had put a lot of these together or none at all. You have to read between the lines sometimes. I was missing some pieces and a phone call was all it took, the support people were great and got my missing pieces out quickly. One thing I disagreed with was using masking tape for the shim for the top. I used .002 shim stock the right width and got the table flat. Did that on both wings. Every thing lined up well, some of the pieces were heavy for one person but you can figure out a support so you can take your time with having someone hanging over you.( I have set up a lot of shop equipment). The finish was good on the cabinet and the finish on the saw table was impressive, a lot better than what I have seen on saws costing more. The fence was a little different issue, the instructions were not good. When you install it on the saw, don't shim it until you check the clearance on the saw table to bottom of the fence, you might not need the shimming (instructions call for shimming on a beveled table edge, did not need), also run a tap thru the mounting holes on the rectangle tube, will save you a lot of talking to yourself. (this was the only spot the tapped holes were filled up with paint). The fence is nice and holds well. When I researched a saw, I was trying to find something made in the US, you have to spend 8-10k for that, and honestly, don't think its much better than what I bought. I did find out that most of the name brands are not making this class saw in the US. Overall, would recommend the saw without hesitation, you can always get a problem child with anything you buy, but the support with this company would make up for any short comings.

Excellent. 12/30/2019 12:57:34 PM

No issues other than not receiving the scale that sticks onto the fence. Seems to be a solid saw at a price point that is affordable.
The included router table option works OK, and the table extensions were all relatively flat and required little alignment. Packing grease is hard to remove as others have stated. Get a plastic scraper or even a car ice scraper should work with solvent of choice. This is my 3rd or 4th saw but my first true cabinet saw. No other issues at this time and I am very satisfied with purchase.

Great table saw 12/06/2019 1:28:55 PM

Bought this saw about a month ago after a lot of research, it seem to be built well! Fit and finish is very good, great price also bought the mobile kit that was heavy duty (must have). Manual is do able and you can get through it, had a few issues and called grizzly and was very helpful and work me through it. Bottom line as of now YES I would buy again and happy with my purchase

excellent table saw! 11/29/2019 9:06:01 PM

Purchased my saw at the end of October and spent part of Friday night and some of Saturday putting it together. After reading MANY reviews and comparisons to other manufacturers I decided to stick with the Grizzly. Some things must've been improved since the reviews I read cuz I had no issues at all following the instructions and all the parts needed were there. And I did assemble the saw completely without any help. There was some slight damage to the packaging but nothing to the equipment. I saw in one video that the riving knife was harder to change than on a similar model of another manufacturer and I was pleasantly surprised to find the new saw had a lever for the change so it's a breeze. I did have to move the table top slightly to make it parallel to the blade but as far as the blade being at 90 degrees to the top it was perfect. It's such an upgrade and dream compared to the jobsite bosch I was using previously!! I've used it several times now and it's so nice to be able to make repeated accurate and straight cuts!! I actually just finished dimensioning some walnut for a cutting board today and everything was perfect! Didn't even need to break out the planer! The shop fox fence works great after some minor adjustments. Through my own ignorance I managed to break the locking handle on it when I was first setting it up and I emailed Grizzly to see about sending me a replacement handle which I admitted was my fault and not only did they GLADLY replace it under warranty they called me on a Saturday to make sure they were sending me the correct part!! I emailed them Friday night! So I don't understand why some reviews I've read online say the customer service sucks at Grizzly, I couldn't be more happy! As far as the blade goes that comes with it, I only made a couple cuts with it while I was waiting for my new forrest blade since the one off my old saw was thin kerf and wouldn't work with the riving knife, but it did seem to do ok. And did I mention how much QUIETER this saw is than the bosch jobsite saw? It's a world of difference! So all in all I would definitely recommend this saw to anyone in the market for it. I can't attest to the router table since as of now I haven't tried it out.

I bought the G1023RLW 10" 3 HP 240V Cabinet Left-Tilting Table Saw, and the T28922 Bear Crawl Cub Mobile Base a few weeks ago. The mobile base was delivered quickly via UPS Ground, so I assembled it to the dimensions of the saw base I found on the Grizzly website. There were no instructions provided with the mobile base, so I just used the photos on the packaging. Since I live three miles out a dirt road in the middle of nowhere, it took about a week and a half for the saw to arrive. We transferred it to a friends trailer in the Ace parking lot in Silver City, New Mexico. The pallet that the saw was shipped on was pretty badly broken. I've seen this complaint on other reviews. I, too, would have paid extra for a better pallet. We strapped the package down the best we could to the trailer, but it was listing badly. I held my breath for most of the three mile drive out the dirt road to my house. I could just picture it tumbling off the trailer. Happily, we made it to my shop without any issues.

The rest of the packaging was fine, and there was no damage to any of the shipment. We removed the packaging, and the several boxes of parts, and walked the saw onto the mobile base. The Bear Crawl Cub Mobile Base seems perfect for this saw, and would highly recommend it. It took me about an hour to clean all of the waxy grease off of the machined surfaces of the saw. I didn't have the orange cleaner recommended by Grizzly, but found that Blaster penetrating oil worked well. I tried WD-40, but Blaster worked better. I'd guess that the actual assembly of the saw probably took about an hour and a half. The instructions provided were excellent, and have no complaints. Everything went together well, and didn't even need to shim the cast iron tables as shown in the instructions. I did need some physical help installing the router table, as it is quite heavy to hold in place, and get the screws started. Final alignment/adjustments took less than an hour to get the saw/fence perfect.

I haven't used the saw that much since putting it into service, but I am quite impressed with it. It runs quietly with no vibration, and all of my cuts have been perfect. This is a substantial piece of equipment, and am so happy that I opted for the 3 HP saw instead of buying the cheaper 2 HP saws offered by Grizzly. The blade guard works well, but care must be taken when lowering the saw blade when the guard is installed. There is a plastic insert in the table where the anti-kickback pawls rest. When lowering the blade, the pawls dig into the insert, and mine actually had chunks broken out of it before I knew what was happening. There is a little retainer spring on the rear of the guard that will hold the pawls up out of the way when lowering the blade, or if you don't want to use the pawls. The riving knife provided works very well, and I may end up using it more than the guard. If I had one complaint, it would be that I'd like a longer power cord. I may replace the one on the machine instead of having an extension cord run across the floor. This is minor, and am sure that an extension cord would be okay, but I don't really want the lumpy connectors to trip over.

After I have more experience with this table saw, I will come back, and update my review. This is my first piece of equipment from Grizzly, and am pretty sure that there will be more to follow.

An Astounding Saw 10/05/2019 4:46:55 PM

This saw is a real treat for anyone who has tried to use a tabletop table saw or radial arm for precision work. This saw is SO stable, SO precise, and all that cast iron dampens vibration like nothing else. (You should have seen me unloading this 500lb beast out of my pickup.) The router table is a major bonus as well-- again really stable. Cast iron changes the game in a router table. Nevertheless, the router table would benefit from slots to mount featherboards, a better system to capture dust and a more sophisticated elevator system. (I use the big Porter Cable router.) Ultimately, the final package is in fact big and heavy, but using a dolly package and mounting dust collection and outfeed on board makes it really easy to roll this monster around my two car garage. See pic illustrating how I created a platform to hold a dedicated Grizzly dust collector and integrated an outfeed table. This is a monster package that can be rolled out of the way when not in use. Astounding.

I have had this a month now and just love it. Went together great and is a joy to use. I am building stave constructed drums and this saw and the Grizzly G0656X - 8" x 72" Jointer with Spiral Cutterhead have made my angles perfect. I cut the angled pieces and then joint perfectly smooth. Thanks Grizzly.

Purchase was straightforward but delivery delayed by a zip code input error on behalf of Saia. They owned the problem and rectified the issue with only a days delay. Very professional. The delivery was astounding with the driver assisting me with placement in my shop. This beast is heavy but you can slide it easily on a smooth concrete floor with a little exertion. Awesome. The packing grease on the saw table was thick and I tried several solutions: Simple Green, another degreaser and mineral spirits. This was my mistake, Grizzly suggested an Orange degreased which I didnt order. As a result, the Simple Green left a sticky residue in waves that even mineral spirits wouldnt get off so I had to steel wool off the sticky residue which marred the saws mirror finish. Suggestion: increase the cost of the saw and include the suggested degreaser. The saw is straightforward to assemble until you have to shift to another assembly manual for the fence and another for the router table. The fence is generic and provided and supported by another vendor. They were professional but the manual is not as well written. I am not a professional woodworker but it took several days at 2-3 hours per session to clean and assemble. The saw appeared to be dead on accurate at least from the needs and perspective of a weekend woodworker with intermediate skills. The saws electric cord will most likely require the purchaser to buy a compatible 240v outlet and it may not mate perfectly despite standards. Mine has about a 1/4 gap that I am not fond of. Despite the gap it works well and is no big deal just a heads up. The saw operates with nearly 0 vibration, fence adjustments are smooth, square and accurate but of course accuracy is based on your own accuracy. The saw cuts hardwood, softwood and plywood with no drag, binding or burning evidencing the motors power and fence accuracy. I will likely replace the blade to a 60 tooth although the included 40 tooth is close to meeting my needs. The blade guard is the first I have ever decided to be safe enough to retain on the saw. It does not bind or shift and provides sufficient visibility for accurate cuts without adding other safety issues. All and all it is all I will need for a lifetime of woodworking. I highly recommend this saw for woodworkers with intermediate skills.

Delivered sooner then expected, as others have said the pallets don't hold up to the weight of this beast.... but my delivery person was awesome and dropped inside my garage. The box had damage on the sides but the saw itself isn't anywhere near the sides of the box it was shipped in, resulting in zero damage. The assembly is easy and straight forward with no missing parts. This is a fine piece of equipment that is well built and will handle anything you have it do with ease. I had contemplated Jet, Powermatic, sawstop, etc and settled in on the grizzly and have no regrets.

assembled with no problems 02/04/2019 5:12:49 PM

we received and assembled the saw but have only used it for some minor jobs. The assemble went with no problems. All parts were provided with the delivery. My two sons and I assembled in a couple of hours and a beer or two. The instructions were great, we followed them and had no problems. So far the small amount of work we have done with it has been has been as good as we hoped. It seems to be a solid saw that allows easy, accurate settings that it holds. So far I have only good things to say about it.

This was a great choice for my first, cabinet Table Saw. Everything was square and true right out of the box...setup easy (did by myself), but would have been even easier had I had another set of hands to assist with holding the cast iron tabletops when positioning and securing to the main table. Only issue at all was a missing rub pad on the fence, but a quick call to Grizzly customer support had the part shipped to me the next day. Great table saw and great customer service.

A Beast 11/21/2018 1:44:25 PM

The saw arrived as promised with no damage at all. Assembly was straight forward and I am up and running. I had to modify my Incra miter sled slightly and that is working well. The dust collection works very well with my 650 CFM collector, and I'm sure would be even better with a bigger collector (next on my wish list). Heavy duty and very well made. In the past couple years I have purchased a drum sander, spindle sander, spiral cutter head 15" planer, Belt sander, 19" band saw, and this saw. Very happy with every one of them.

Nice saw. Poor Packaging 11/16/2018 1:34:22 AM

Very happy with the saw. However, for the amount of money these cost, I would think that a few dollars could be spent on better pallets to put them on. I had to refuse delivery of the first saw that was sent because the pallet had broken and the saw fell over in the truck. The second saw was on an equally cheesy pallet but luckily it survived long enough to get it into my shop where it completely fell apart like it was made from popsicle sticks. The fence was damaged and missing parts. Customer service was very helpful, but it has taken over a month from the time I ordered the saw until I have everything completely right.

Smooth cut, plenty of power. 10/28/2018 12:26:26 PM

Bought as an upgrade to a 1 1/2 HP contractor saw mounted in a custom mobile cabinet, and couldn't be happier. After assembling and squaring everything I built a few shop cabinets with the saw and was really impressed with the quality of cut compared to my previous setup. I was able to dial in the blade alignment to under .001" over 8 feet, which I couldn't ever do before.

Overall, the saw has been a pleasure to use so far. I did buy a higher quality blade, so I can't speak to the blade that came with the saw, but there was absolutely no burning over the course of about 300 linear feet of birch plywood. I haven't used it with hardwoods yet, so that will be the test. With a zero-clearance insert installed I had almost no tear out at all, even in thin veneer birch plywood. Using a dado blade in the afore mentioned plywood was also smooth and easy. I was cutting shallow 1/4" rabbets and grooves, so not a lot of material. The cut went through easily, however, and I had no issues with holding the wood down due to blade slowing mid-cut.

I'm looking forward to building a lot of furniture and cabinets on this thing, and I'm glad I went the direction I did. Other brands are very nice as well, but I can't imagine that for what I need I could find better value for the money. Thanks Grizzly, I'll be back!

Excellent Tablesaw 10/26/2018 1:52:27 PM

I replaced a worn out Powermatic 66 with this. I expected to lose something in the way of wasted time or efficiently. I was WRONG. This is a great saw. this was almost dead on directly from the pallet. The instruction say to use 2 people to assembly, but with a little ingenuity I was able to complete the assemble in a really short period of time. I had gotten so used to have my blade wobble that I forgot what it was like to not have that "feature". I have not used the router table top yet because I have a shaper, but I can certainly justify the minor cost for the addition. Thank you for a great product.

The Saw is great, the UPS Delivery less than desirable 10/19/2018 3:29:18 PM

I have absolutely nothing bad to say about the product Grizzly offers as this is my second large purchase in the last 2 months. This saw is tough, quiet, and cuts wonderfully. Take the time to set it up properly and it will do you good. If I had a complaint would be that the left wing has a very slight bow in it, approximately 1/32 of an inch high spot in the center so it does not bolt to the main saw table flush. I did need to add a little masking tape for the wing droop but it points that out in the instructions. The right wing (router table) bolted up nicely, although I did need tape for the expected droop. Very little adjustment was needed and I was up and cutting in about an hour after finally assembly. I like the heavy fence! The blade that comes with the saw seems adequate.

As for UPS Delivery, what a nightmare. My saw arrived, unfortunately only one of the 2 boxes made it. The main saw box was on a broken pallet and difficult to remove from the truck. The Fence box was lost for about a week and when it did show up, my oh my what a mess (see pictures). I had nothing but trouble with the UPS delivery for this saw and for a previously purchased Bandsaw, which was delivered laying on its side.

Great saw. Best value out there. A genuine professional woodworking tool for the best price. Straightforward setup. Great power. Blade needs upgrade. I did this after using the provided one for a month.

A Critical Review 07/08/2018 3:08:36 PM

This is an awesome saw. So much better than my 1982 Craftsman Contractors Saw. However I had a few issues. The Fence Package had been dropped and repacked leaving my rear rail with a divot. The fence rides on two pads, one on the table, and one on the rear rail, so I may file the divot down so that it does not ruin the Fence. But spending all of this money and having the package come in with an issue and having to file off the paint on the rear rail to repair it is disappointing.

Another issue is that the anti-kickback pawls on the Saw Guard dig into the table insert and prohibit one from lowering the blade without first lifting the pawls or tying the pawls up. A safety feature that must be disabled during normal use is not a good design. It leads to customers disabling or removing it instead of living with it.

I had additional issues too. I had to adjust the gibs so that the saw blade rode straight up and down instead of rocking while raising and lowering the blade. Having better control of the angle of the blade was the main reason I updated to a cabinet saw. Since I do not adjust gibs every day I'm certain I have not done the job as well as Grizzly could have when they built the saw. Plus its a PITA to get to the gib set screws. I would have preferred for the gibs to be set correctly at the factory.

The riving knife is nice. And also hard to setup properly. I'm close after spending two hours but it still interferes with the miter sled I'm using and I have to try again. There are four set screws that set the plane of the riving knife and saw guard to be in the plane and path of the blade. They are under the table and again a PITA to adjust. I found If I lower the blade a little, and leave the insert out, I can get to the screws from above and see how they affect the plane of the riving knife, while I try not to cut myself on the blade.

But I love the saw. Its weight makes it much more stable than a contractors saw. I'll enjoy the extra power and weight when cutting hard woods. And using the router in the router table insert on a 400 lb saw is much better than my old router table. I'm glad I spent the extra money on the router table insert. The only issue with it is that the miter slot on the saw is pretty far away and on the wrong side of the router. Assuming we use the router from the right hand side of the table. The router extension would have been perfect if it included another miter slot. Also I still had to remove one of the handles from a 3 HP Freud Plunge Router in order to open the access door to get adjust or change the riving knife and saw guard.

I was able to align both table top extensions by setting the center level to the table,, then clamping the edges together making their height to the table off the same amount, tightening the center bolt withe the center level to the table, then clamping the edges level and tightening the edge bolts. However putting the router table extension on after mounting the fence did not work as the router table extension was slightly larger than 27" deep. I had to loosen the rear fence rail to get it to fit, then reset the rear fence rail.

This is a great addition to my shop. A good machine for its price, however its not great out of the box until you spend time setting it up. If Grizzly had set the gibs properly, fixed the anti kickback pawls, and the rear rail was not damaged I would give the saw 5 stars plus.

As I worked toward retirement I promised myself a workshop with serious woodworking tools. This table saw is the crown jewel of that dream and it has fulfilled my expectations completely.

Grizzly support is great! 06/28/2018 2:55:41 PM

My saw was missing an essential (and, I'm sure, expensive...) part upon arrival. Grizzly replaced it immediately -- no questions asked. They provided courteous and helpful telephone support; I could not be more impressed and pleased.

I haven't yet been able to gather enough friends to help me get the saw into the basement, so I can't comment on performance, but everything I have read and seen on YouTube indicates this will have been an excellent purchase.

Everything Grizzly was spot on accurate from setup to powering up this saw. No adjustments were necessary. It is obvious that Grizzly's years of expertise have paid off for this well balanced well built machine.

I love this table saw! 12/14/2017 1:34:23 PM

I purchased this to replace my first table saw, a Ryobi contractor saw from Home Depot. I cannot convey how much better it is to have this solid and dependable workhorse than a saw that was really made to just chew through pine/framing lumber. Operating this saw is a breeze, and the 3 HP motor gives good cutting power in an even manner. The fence does its job, but will probably get replaced to handle additional attachments which improve safety. The miter gauge is a burly, heavy design which gives a good amount of strength for various operations. If I had to do it all over again, I would buy it again without hesitation!

Great product 12/13/2017 1:11:17 PM

I bought this a month ago and it works well. The order was delivered by freight truck within 2 weeks and the packaging was very good in protecting the saw. It is very solid, runs smooth and makes precise cuts. My only negative comment is that there was a shaft key for the hand wheel missing from the parts packaging. I tried to purchase one locally but the 5x5x35 mm key was not available. I also sent an email to csr@grizzly.com for customer support but did not receive a response. Eventually I milled one myself so the missing key was not a problem. I was just a little disappointed that I did not receive a response from Grizzly. Overall though it is a great tool.

excellent fit and finish 12/07/2017 1:01:15 PM

Have not used the saw much yet, other than to try it out. Very pleased with all details and construction. This is my second table saw from Grizzly, was pleased with the original hybrid saw with legs. I wanted to upgrade and have the router table combined to save some space.Highly recommended.

Great product 11/28/2017 2:33:04 AM

I bought this saw about a month ago to upgrade from an older craftsman table saw that I couldnt get a square cut from without measuring the distance from the front and rear of the blade to the fence. This was time consuming as was the motor not having enough power to cut through 2" pine and having to go slower. This machine is a beast! I had to do a slight adjustment to the fence and now have square material to work with. And the 3 hp 220v. motor will chew through anything I push through it. I read where some people put other saw blades on and didnt even try the blade that came with it. Their loss because the stock blade works fine. I assembed the saw by myself and it took about 4 hours, including removing the heavy anti corrosion oil that is all over the table top. The directions say to use WD-40 and shop towels. I used WD-40 and a light scotchbrite pad, letting it soak for about 5 minutes and it comes off pretty easy. The cord that comes with it is rather short. I only have 1 220v outlet so I bought 10 foot of 12 gage wire and made an extension cord for it. Overall, I am very pleased with my purchase and was able to finance it through Affirm on the Grizzly website.

I bought this saw and have been using it for about a month. Required very few tuning adjustments, is amazingly vibration free and machined dead flat. I had a minor issue with the knob on the fence, but customer service was fantastic in solving it for me. Getting the riving knife and blade protector to seat properly in the bracket required some minor filing of the insert, but otherwise everything was perfect. I also plan to buy an 8" planer from Grizzly based on my positive experience with the table saw.

The saw is great, but the router table is a joke. There is no safe way to secure the router. The design is seriously flawed. I had to buy a separate router table because this one was entirely inadequate. DO NOT BUY THIS FOR THE ROUTER TABLE!!!!!!

Very pleased 07/23/2017 6:29:57 PM

I'm a hobbyist woodworker and have been for 40+ years. I have a small shop (9' wide x 27' long) with a small assembly / paint area also. I've been using my Grizzly G0700 for years (small slider) and love it, but my interests have changed and I do mostly turning, segmented turning and small flat work. So I put the slider in storage and got this, which is the smallest cabinet saw I could find that still has the features I want.

I have no interest at all in the router capability because that side is butted against a wall, so I have no comment on that here.

It was shipped to my office/warehouse and a bunch of friends helped me put it in my shop. I had a friend help with the table extensions and you will definitely want to do the same. I've done this before and, while doable with a dead man helper or whatever, far, far better with help. Also, take the time to make sure the extensions are flat. Mine arrived dead flat and perfectly registered with the table.

So assembly is straightforward, and mostly easy. I had no issues at all and even a newbie should be able to do this pretty easily if you follow the directions. I was up and running in about an hour and a half, and when I started checking the saw for square and parallel, found that it needed zero adjusting on any aspect. I was pretty surprised and checked a couple more times but, nope, no adjustments needed. The fence assembly mounted absolutely parallel to the blade and this was also surprising because I generally have found that, with the past half dozen saws I've purchased, it was needed.

On to operating. I like the fence pretty well although it is a bit stiff, and I really would have liked a built-in T-track on top but that's okay I can add later. The bevel gauge is easier to read than my G0700, and the wheels are better quality also. However, the height adjust wheel is still a bit on the stiff side for my taste. The miter gauge is, like virtually every saw shipping, not that great so I bought a Kreg (as opposed to the Incra) that I prefer and it works like a champ with this saw.

the magnetic switch is nice and I like that I can just shut off the machine without having to fumble about with a tiny switch. It ships with a padlock - very handy for those of you who may have small or unauthorized people around.

The motor is very quiet for its capability and provides plenty of torque. I haven't worked with any thick hardwoods yet, but the 4/4 oak, 3/4 birch ply, and a bunch of 2/4 I've ripped cut like butter. Of course, I don't use the blade that ships and never do so I don't know if it's any good. I have a very nice Ridge Carbide and a backup Freud, both 80 tooth, that I use. Smooth as silk with this saw.

Dust control is a bit better than I'm accustomed to with the slider and I like that you can just open the cabinet and grab big stuff. With the 0700, I was constantly dealing with pieces clogging the hose.

Also, for me this is a left-tilt saw which was a key reason to make this purchase. Some cuts really can't be easily done with a right-tilt slider, if at all.

All-in all, I'm very pleased with this purchase. To give you some perspective on other tools I own: Jet 1642 lathe, VB36 lathe, Grizzly 17" band saw, Grizzly G0700 sliding table saw, Ridgid floor standing drill press and lunch box planer, Jet oscillating edge sander, Festook Kapex miter saw, Jet 16-32 sander, Shop fox belt / disc sander, Grizzly 1 1/2 hp closed cabinet shaper. I like Grizzly and tend to purchase from them but not exclusively so and am always looking for the best value. I think that this table saw offers that and may well be the last saw I have to buy.

Great tablesaw-Not so great Instruction Manuals- Less than great shipping experience 06/04/2017 12:27:03 PM

This review documents my experience and rating with ordering, delivery and assembling Grizzly 1023 RLW tablesaw. <br />After extensive online research and retail visits I chose this saw to replace a fine, but very old Craftsman tablesaw.<br /> Ordering: unless your lucky enough to live in Bellington WA or Springfield, MO you can not kick the tires nor test ride a Grizzly product. All ordering is on line. I chose to order direct thru Customer Service. Every CS I spoke with over the past two weeks has been very helpful. My order was shipped the same day I ordered it!<br /><br /> Delivery : I was delighted and surprised that my delivery was to arrive the same week it was ordered. And I did not have to place a separate order for a catalog as the Grizzly website says a catalog ships with every order. <br />I will preface the delivery problems that occurred over the next two weeks by saying that Grizzly was only 1/3 of the problem. <br />The saw did not arrive as predicted. Because delivery is by semi you must have an accessible driveway and a forklift OR order lift gate service. Upon learning this I immediately contacted the freight company (SAIA) to change the delivery address (to a local business with a fork lift and local delivery service) SAIA in turn needed authorization from Grizzly to ok the change of address. Both Grizzly and SAIA dropped the ball in getting the authorization ok'd. In the interim I called both companies repeatedly to find out where my saw was located and what was needed to get it delivered. I was then told,10 days after ordering, that my shipment was to deliver on Thursday between 11-4pm. By 3pm there had been no delivery, so I called SAIA. SAIA apologized for the confusion and inconvenience but they passed the delivery onto another freight company and they only deliver to my area in northern Wisconsin on Mondays and Thursday. I was assured the driver would call on Monday one hour before arriving. So I would again wait 4 days. <br />But wait there's good news. The very next day I received a call from the semi driver. He was in town but lost. He made the delivery and by Friday noon I had my saw!!<br />THE MORALE TO THIS STORY: KNOW YOUR SHIPPING RESTRICTIONS AND DO NOT CHANGE YOUR DELIVERY ADDRESS!!!!<br />BTW I did not receive a catalog!!!<br /><br /> Tablesaw Assembly: There are three manuals used in the set up of this saw. The instructions are vague in places, there are typos and there is a need for more tools then provided or indicated. <br />Three major concerns 1. When installing the front rectangular tube, that guides the fence, there are 2 ways to mount it. Overhang the rail to the left for using the fence to the left of blade (less popular) or to the right (more typical. See the colored picture on line for clarification). 2. You will need a very large allen wrench to install the on/off switch brace. 3. When locking the fence down the resistance should be immediately firm. The locking assembly on the fence includes a free swinging bar located just behind the handle. I found out the hard way that when placing the fence on the table that bar will swing up and out of position. When this occurs the locking handle moves easily. I chipped the paint on the tube when that bar was out of position and I pushed down on the handle. <br /><br />I take great pride in providing fair and informative reviews. I hope this will help others to make good choices. <br />

Love this saw 06/02/2017 7:54:50 AM

This is a great saw. I wish I would have bought it years ago. Took some time to set up but once done everything works well. The router attachment brackets did not work with my router. I just drilled and countersunk the mounting screws in the table. Worked great. Fence is smooth and easy to operate. Blade height and angle adjustment is smooth.

Delivery box trashed, box contents, perfect! 05/05/2017 1:25:09 AM

I placed my order for the 5HP 1023RLWX on Sunday, 10-09. In between that date, and before they shipped it, I realized my garage wasn't equipped to run a 240V 5 HP motor. You need a 30A circuit to run 5HP. I called Grizzly and asked them to change the order down to the 240V, 3 HP, which only needed a 15A circuit. My garage had a 20A, so I was good to go. The 3HP saw was shipped, and it arrived on Thursday, 10-20. The saw arrived with boxes trashed. Thank you delivery service, for nothing! I was recovering from a serious motorcycle accident at the time, and using a walker with a bunch of broken bones, so the delivery driver moved it into my garage for me, and I tipped him $20 for the effort, as I have a long and sloped driveway. Because of my injuries, it took me a while to get everything set up and running, several months, in fact. I photographed everything with the driver right there, but forgot to note this on the delivery receipt. My bad - I was so pleased to finally get my new saw, I just wigged out. I ordered the 1023RLW with the router table attachment, thinking I would use this router table instead of a "stand-alone" version. I am very pleased to tell you that even though the boxes were absolutely trashed, there was not a mark, scratch, or dent on anything! Tip of the hat to the people putting this in the boxes overseas!

As I got it up and running, I purchased some equipment to help set up and calibrate the saw top and fence to the blade and miter slots. I did the testing on the blade to the miter slot first, to verify that the slots ran perfectly parallel to the blade, and to check run-out on the blade itself. I used the Woodpeckers Saw Gauge on a new Freud blade. NO run-out at all. I checked it several times, .001" or less on the blade to the miter slot. Can it get any better than that?

I installed the fence, and then thought better of it. I removed it and have never used the factory fence; it sits today in my garage, brand spanking new. I ordered a new Incra TS-LS combo with a 28"x32" table saw router table attachment, a router lift, and, of course, the Incra TS-LS fence. Nothing wrong, I'm sure with the Shop Fox fence, but I wanted the Incra for it's dead-on and instant measurement repeatability. After installing the Incra fence and router table on the right side of the blade, I thought I would replace the smaller cast iron table saw top plate on the left side of the blade with the (now unused) Grizzly router table. Although it would have worked just fine, (with homemade support legs, that is) I elected to keep the small table saw top plate on the left, and the Incra 28"x32" router table on the right. I'll offer the cast iron router table, legs, and fence with brackets for sale eventually.

I have now had a chance to use the saw, including both with a regular blade, a thin kerf blade, and a dado set. Every single cut has been perfectly straight, regardless of using the fence, or a miter gauge.

The wheels to raise/lower the blade seem to be on ball bearings; they are incredibly smooth in operation, with almost no resistance. The saw is quiet, compared to my old contractors saw, incredibly smooth, and ramps up to speed almost instantly. I hooked up a shop vac, with an adaptor, to the dust port; this doesn't really work that well; you really need some form of dust removal with much more suction and air movement than a shop vac. If you are considering purchasing a Cabinet saw such as this, you will need to spend the money for a real dust extraction unit, if you want to keep it clean. That's next on my list.

The electrical cord that comes with the saw is pretty short, maybe 5 or 6''. Take a photo of the male plug on the end of the saw cord with you to Lowe's or Home Depot, and buy the parts to make your own 220V extension cord. The plugs you will need are industry standard 6-15, and you will need both a plug and a receptacle. Although the owner's manual does not recommend an extension cord, they apparently get it that the factory cord is too short, and advise you to use an extension cord only if absolutely necessary, and only on a temporary basis. Mine is 18', and cost me about $30 in parts and wiring. It has worked extremely well, probably because I made it with 8GA. wire. The manual gives you a hint on this, on page 11; use minimum 14ga wire, and keep it under 50' for the 3HP 1023RLW models.

I cannot comment on the quality of the factory blade; I replaced it immediately with a Freud, with which I am very familiar, and use exclusively on my saws.

Overall, I am very, very, pleased with my purchase. The difference in cost between the router table version, 1023RLW, and the regular version, 1023RL, is just over $100 at this writing. Given that it will sell for at least that, I haven't lost any money. I would caution you to think twice about whether or not you are going to use this as a router, as I do, or not, and when you see and investigate an aftermarket router table option, you may think twice about ordering the 1023RLW.

If I had to do it over again, I would order the 1023RL, and add on the router accessories later. But I would order a Grizzly! I reviewed other saws on the market while bed-ridden and recovering from multiple surgeries - I had nothing else to do except lie there and hurt. All of the reviews and research I read and reviewed said the Grizzly was top notch, and by far and away the best bang for the buck. I agree. I compared it to both the Powermatic, and the SawStop cabinet saw versions; both were double the price, without offering, at that time, a router option. Double the price should get you twice the saw; in MY opinion, it does not.

I would strongly recommend that you consider this when you buy your next cabinet saw; this is the best value out there, in my opinion; I have been using table saws as a serious hobby for 19 years; this is the real deal.

New Saw for a New Shop 01/31/2017 2:46:55 AM

I ordered this saw on a Monday, and it was delivered on the following Tuesday by UPS. The driver packed his truck into the back yard, and unloaded the saw onto the driveway of the shop, and then pushed it up and into the shop. It arrived without a scratch. I had a Shop Fox base from my old contractors saw, and resized it for the Grizzly. Then it was a simple matter of lifting the saw with the bucket on my tractor, and lowering it onto the base. I spent the next couple of evenings cleaning, assembling, and adjusting the saw. Everything lined up correctly, with only 1 masking tape shim required. I installed the Grizzly blade that came with the saw, and did several test cuts. Everything works as advertised, and the saw not only passed the nickel test, but a penny test too! In the past two months Ive built a large out-feed table, several jigs, and have started on a cabinet project for the new shop. I could not be happier with the Grizzly saw, and hope to soon acquire a 17 band saw.

GREAT QUALITY SAW 01/27/2017 4:22:03 PM

I was looking at both Grizzly & Powermatic 3 hp tablesaws. I previously owned a 1 1/2 hp Grizzly saw & it was 35 years old. I needed an upgrade. I just couldn't justify paying twice the price for the Powermatic & ordered the Grizzly G1023RLW. Everything from the the truck driver to set up was just great & I have no issues. I can't imagine needing anything more than this Grizzly. Thanks for your great service.

Ordered this saw on line. When it arrived, the packaging was destroyed. The only damage was the tilt indicator was broken, not sure how it got broken, it's 'kinda tucked away, but it was. Called Grizzly, talked to a very nice person. They shipped out every part associated with the indicator. I replaced the broken parts and couldn't be happier with the saw. - Steve

Great foundation saw for any shop 03/09/2016 1:44:24 AM

Bought this saw about 3 weeks ago to replace an upper end Jet contractor saw we'd been using for the last few years to build heirloom quality cabinetry. It arrived 4 days after I placed the order and took approximately 4 hours to set up. Everything was included and instruction/assembly instructions were complete in every detail. We were amazed at how close everything, as received, was to spec. Powering up, we were surprised at how quiet, from a vibration standpoint, the saw was - needless to say we weren't the least disappointed when we actually began work with it. And, due to several complex cuts we make on one of our pieces, the router extension proved very useful in eliminating the necessity to reset the saw for one of the cuts. This is one exceptional value - we had looked at a number of other saws and decided on this one, based on reviews and what others had to say about it - again we were pleasantly surprised. The Jet was a wonderfully stable saw but we've already seen the difference in our joinery since the Grizzly was placed in service. When combined with Grizzly's fine track record of service and support, I doubt you can find a better saw for the money.

Customer Review 01/01/2015 7:33:18 PM

I wanted to send a review regarding my new Grizzly table saw and I hope you will post this on your website for future shoppers.

I am not going to ramble on about every detail of the G1023RLW, but rather give a quick synopsis for those contemplating the purchase of a new saw. If you are serious about precision woodworking projects, a cabinet saw is your best investment, and I would highly recommend Grizzly. Every review I have read on the machines Grizzly puts out was confirmed when I received my saw and used it for the first time. I can't begin to express how confident I feel about my purchase, and Grizzly made it extremely easy and comfortable.

I am fairly new to woodworking and this is my first real investment. I can't tell you how impressed I am that the machine was in such close tolerance. Perhaps this is throughout the industry, but that doesn't matter, because you make high quality machines that we don't have to take out a second mortgage to purchase.

The only suggestion I would give is that future buyers purchase the cleaner for the cast iron top. I had no problem removing it with Mineral Spirits and it did not affect the painted surface, but the spray I saw on your website after the fact would have probably worked better.

The router table extension is another great add to this saw and the motor on the saw is so smooth that it passed the nickel test even though I haven't leveled the saw yet. The quality of the fence is extremely good and was very easy to set up and would caution anyone about buying an aftermarket brand that is sometimes suggested in woodworking articles. I ran test cuts and the precision was perfect.

Thank you so much for producing such a quality product that shipped in under three days. If it weren't for the snow in New England, I would have had it sooner.

I want to thank you for everything you have done for me and future buyers.

Q & A

Common Questions and Answers about the G1023RLW:

Q: What are the main differences between the G1023RL-Series and the G0690-Series table saws?

A:Aside from color and outward appearances, there are 6 primary differences between these series of machines: the drive system, dust extraction components, switch lock-ability, blade guard spreader/riving knife release mechanism, the fence, and the country of origin.

Q: What is the difference between the G1023RL-Series and G0690-Series belt-drive systems?

A:The G1023RL-series features a poly-V "Serpentine" belt-drive system, which is quieter and transfers power more efficiently than a standard single V-belt drive system. The G0690-series features a triple V-belt drive system, which does a better job of maintaining a consistent transfer of power when under load than a standard single V-belt drive system.

Q: What is the difference between the G1023RL-Series and G0690-Series dust extraction systems?

A:The G1023RL-series encapsulates the underside of the blade with a dust hood that is connected directly to the dust port via an internal dust hose. This allows a dust collector to remove the majority of dust that falls through the table, and it helps keep the other components inside the cabinet clean. This system requires less cleaning and maintenance than that of saws where the dust falls straight through to the bottom of the cabinet. The G0690-series has a fully-enclosed cabinet with a sloped bottom that allows gravity to direct incoming dust toward the dust port.

Q: What is the difference between the G1023RL-Series and G0690-Series mag switches?

A:The G1023RL-series features a lockable mag switch with an included key-lock padlock. The G0690-series features a mag switch that can also be disabled from accidental use with a special pin, but it does not accommodate a padlock, so it can't be completely locked.

Q: What is the difference between the G1023RL-Series and G0690-Series blade guard spreader/riving knife release mechanism?

A:The G1023RL-series is equipped with a quick-release lever to unlock/lock the spreader/riving knife when changing between blade guards. The G0690-series is equipped with an easily-accessible knurled knob that unlocks/locks the spreader/riving knife with a quick rotation.

Q: What is the difference between the G1023RL-Series and G0690-Series fence?

A:The G1023RL-series features the hugely popular Shop Fox Classic Fence, which has been a customer favorite for nearly two decades due to its adjustment simplicity and performance reliability. The G0690-series fence is very similar to the Shop Fox Classic Fence in all ways, except that it locks against the front rail on three sides instead of two. Aside from allowing it to lock more firmly in place, the added side of rail contact also provides an additional axis of adjustability when calibrating fence accuracy.

FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions):

Q: How do I know which size of motor I'll need for my table saw?

A:Assuming the correct blade is installed for any specific type of cut, the answer primarily depends on these three factors: (1) your average stock thickness, (2) your typical wood type or variety, and (3) your anticipated cutting frequency or overall demands placed on the saw. First, it is important to note that with a slow enough feed rate, any of our table saws can cut through a piece of hardwood up to that saw's maximum cutting height. Unfortunately, using too slow of a feed rate can result in burn marks in your workpiece, and using a feed rate that is so aggressive that it causes a motor to bog down will quickly increase the motor's internal temperature to a state of thermal breakdown. Once a motor reaches this state, continued operation (without allowing sufficient cool-down time between cuts) will result in the motor becoming so hot that its winding insulation will completely fail and the motor will die. A larger motor, however, could easily perform the exact same type of work without ever reaching a state of thermal breakdown. With that in mind, your goal should be to select a motor size that will handle the majority of what you'll be cutting on a regular basis, without bogging the motor down. To translate this into a more practical perspective, generally speaking, a 1.5 HP motor used with an aggressive feed rate can repeatedly cut 6/4 (1.5") soft woods and 4/4 (1") hardwoods without bogging down. A 3 HP motor, on the other hand, can repeatedly cut the same type of stock with the same type of feed rate at approximately twice that size without bogging down.

Q: What are the differences between contractor, hybrid, and cabinet saws?

A:A "Contractor" table saw is generally a light-duty saw with an open-stand and is usually equipped with a 1.5 HP to 2 HP motor that can be operated on a common 120V power supply, making it portable and convenient enough to take from jobsite to jobsite for carpentry work, trim work, and small cabinetry or furniture work. To keep the weight down, contractor saws often use sheet-metal wings instead of cast-iron wings, and their trunnions and other internal components use less cast iron or steel, making them much less beefy than those same components used in cabinet saws. A few other typical hallmarks of contractor saws are non-enclosed motors (making them slightly louder and sometimes resulting in a lack of dust collection) and trunnions mounted to the bottom of the table instead of the cabinet (making them slightly more difficult to align the blade to the miter slot or fence). The lighter-duty components used in their construction typically means that contractor saws also cost less than other saw types. The low cost, high portability, and convenience of operating on a 120V power supply, combined with included fence systems that often rival those used on cabinet saws, has historically made the contractor saw a favorite option for the hobbyist or beginning woodworker. A "Cabinet" table saw is a heavy-duty saw with an enclosed cabinet-style stand and usually a 3 HP or larger motor that operates on a 240V power supply, making it the top choice for professional woodworkers, serious amateurs, or production shops that require day-in and day-out reliability and the ability to regularly cut thick hardwoods. Unlike contractor saws, cabinet saws have much thicker castings for the trunnions and arbor assembly, which attach to the cabinet instead of the table (making blade alignment adjustments easier), and they usually have full cast-iron wings, which combined with the beefier trunnions and heavy cabinet stand, give them a lot more vibration-dampening weight. Additionally, the enclosed cabinet stands result in quieter operation and usually have much better dust collection. A "Hybrid" table saw is a newer category of saw that is considered to be a cross between a contractor saw and a cabinet saw. Like cabinet saws, hybrid saws typically have cabinets or stands with enclosed motors (providing quieter operation and easier dust collection) and trunnions that mount to the stand (making blade alignment adjustments easier). Like contractor saws, hybrids are generally constructed with lighter-duty components and materials (keeping costs and overall weight down), and they are usually equipped with 1.5 HP to 2 HP motors (allowing them to operate on a common 120V power supply). Because hybrid saws are often priced near contractor saws and they offer many of the additional benefits that cabinet saws provide over contractor saws, they are quickly becoming the saw of choice for the serious hobbyist or the professional woodworker on a budget.

Q: How do I know what type of blade I should buy?

A:Blade choice is determined by the type and purpose of cut, hardness and thickness of stock, and desired trade-offs between cutting speed versus cut quality. Generally speaking, a blade with fewer teeth cuts faster but makes a lower quality cut, and a blade with more teeth cuts slower but makes a higher quality cut. We offer a wide variety of blades from a handful of different manufacturers. All of our blades are clearly designated by either blade function, cut type, or material type.

Q: What is the purpose of the riving knife?

A:The riving knife is used for non-through cuts. It is a metal plate positioned in alignment behind the blade to prevent the newly-cut workpiece sides from pinching on or pushing against the backside of the blade and causing kickback. The riving knife also acts as a barrier behind the blade to reduce the risk of hands being pulled into the blade if they are positioned incorrectly when kickback occurs.

Q: Can I still use my table saw without connecting it to a dust collector?

A:Yes, but we don't recommend it. Without using a dust collector, the dust will quickly pile up inside and around your machine, resulting in additional cleaning time later. Besides making a mess, fine dust can be harmful to your respiratory system. A better choice is to connect your table saw to a properly-designed dust collection system that at least pulls the recommended minimum CFM for your saw's dust port.

Q: Can I cut metal or other non-wood materials with your table saws?

A:Although our table saws will physically cut many different types of materials, they are only designed to cut natural wood or wood-based materials (plywood, MDF, OSB, etc.). Cutting materials not intended to be cut on a woodworking table saw can result in serious injury to the operator or bystanders, and it could decrease the life of the saw and void the warranty.
