I'm very happy with this drill press. I gave it 4 stars because the motor came wired in reverse to what the switch indicates. Customer service was very helpful in getting this straightened out.
I changed the oil after running the prescribed break in procedure. It only took 3 qts., not the 5 qts. that the manual indicated. At the same time I changed the oil I replaced the drain plug with a magnetic drain plug(3/8NPT. Don't ask me why a metric machine has an NPT plug).
I replaced the standard chuck with a Jacob's Chuck that I had on hand. The run out was measured at 0.0005 which is better than I hoped.
The table is super strong.
The machine came totally enclosed in a wooden case in the upright position and was well protected for shipment.
The R-8 collet makes for quick chuck changes. The gear changes are fast but the change operation requires some massaging to make sure the new gear is seated properly.
All in all, I really like this machine.

Although I have had this machine for only about a month, it appears to be a quality product and functions as advertised. It was damaged during shipment and I worked through that issue with very helpful staff at Grizzly. The 3 spindle handles were bent and they are being replaced by Grizzly. Also, instructions state that no oil is shipped in the machine. Do not believe that even though no oil shows in the sight gage because if you remove the drain plug before "filling" with oil you may be surprised to find a flood of oil draining from the head.
