I received this lathe as a Christmas gift this past December, and I have to say that it has far exceeded my expectations in the time since them. Power is more than adequate, although don't be expecting to hog heavy cuts in steel. Light cuts in mild steel are fine though, and of course non-ferrous metals present no problem at all. The machine runs smooth and the design is a good compromise between cost and performance. The small footprint is a big bonus, and the machine is light enough to easily store on a shelf if space is tight. The one issue I've com across is that the bore of pieces chucked-up is slightly off from the bore of the tailstock. It seems as though the tailstock is slightly high relative to the chuck, so for instance, if you want to open up a 2mm ID bushing's bore to 3mm, you need to go way "under" with your reamer to wind up with a 3mm bore. This may be at least in part to runout of the chuck spindle, but the spindle and tailstock are definitely not in line. Anyway, I've managed to work around this and may see about correcting this soon, but I am very happy with the machine. It has to be the best value in a "micro" sized metal lathe there is...thanks Grizzly.
